i tried to make a mini cake the other day and it was pure hell and came out pretty bad. is there anyway you can walk threw how you do this for us beginners? like when it should be chilled before decorating and for how long also does the icing need to be slightly chilled? how do you crumb coat a cake that size?

Was the first application supposed to be a crumb coat? Do you keep your kitchen extra cold so the weight of the next layer won't fall off? I've never managed, in 20+ years of baking and decorating to manage that, but I also live in a place with extreme temperatures so in the winter it's always hot and humid inside, and I'm then too broke for A/C all the time in the warm months. Meant a great round necessity of freezing the crumb coat.
I always let my crumb coat fully set (freezer for 20 mins or fridge for an hour) before I do a top coat!! My kitchen is generally whatever temp it is outside in the summer, and in the winter I do have heat haha so it’s around 23 Celsius
That's so funny, I'm the complete opposite with strawberries 😆 I absolutely love the artificial strawberry flavor, but hate real strawberries, lol Same with banana, can't beat artificial banana 🤤
Dude I hate candy flavoring like am I the only one who doesn't like most flavors or flavoring additives because they taste nothing like the actual fruit 🤢 especially watermelon and cherry
The only thing that will give me summer vibes is my grandmothers blueberry pie with fresh wild Nova Scotia blueberries!
