I feel that, most of the UA-cam videos shows always only the good & great but even when this was something bad it show a new part of how to react how to do in case of and accident, Pia managed that area great, Kenneth going through all this show us the important of never give up and that life comes with strong moments and great moments soca great experience even with all the hard you guys are doing great and getting strong & strong

Yeah that is true. Most travel videos only shows the positive sides of traveling. That is great and what most people probably wants to see. But we figured we would try to be as honest as possible and show what happens on our journey, whatever that may be.
Pia was amazing, and really got to put her training to good use.
This was a valuable lesson for the both of us. Hopefully other people can takes omitting away too 🙂

I think that this videos will teach us first to get calm and have the best reaction in adrenaline moments I’m really happy that Kenneth is doing so well and 5 months for spring are nothing just more time to get better and the bikes get even better the road is long but the goal is there

  • @gordon4221

When you guys get back on your bikes and continue with your adventure you should both invest in a motorcycle air vest. This will protect your spine, thorax and abdomen. The Helite one is activated by a tether connected to your motorcycle. If you come off a gas cylinder inflates the vest. Would have been a huge help to Kenneth in this accident. Great channel guys and have a speedy recovery.

@@williamrae9954 we shouldn’t assume anything so simple about Pia, because we don’t know her life story. If anything played a part from this experience in her final decision, it may have been that she had lost control over the situation. Kenneth mentioned that she felt like she had to be in control of a lot of things in her life and the crash was something that she couldn’t avoid - lost control of something in her life.
You can clearly see her emotions coming through when she talks about the crash and how she couldn’t notice the gap thus blaming herself a lot in the previous videos.
I’m assuming all of this because when she talked about other stuff that usually would make most people emotions come through, she stayed stoic, and as soon as she starts describing the crash it all comes out.
Of course the crash itself is also very traumatic and could have been just that, but I don’t know why I just felt a strong urge to say my piece here and I don’t want to sound off like I know her or whatever.
God damn haven’t cried like this in a while for a stranger. Seems like Pia was such a nice person & I hope you Kenneth will stay true to your word and take one day at a time, even if our society makes it hard to do so on a daily basis.

    Ken & Pia
    Best wishes from Canada.
This is my first time I’ve ever made a comment on UA-cam as I’m kinda an introverted fellow I guess. But your story has inspired me to post here.
I found your video yesterday but before finishing it went and found earlier ones and went through your challenging story. I honestly had a very poor sleep last night thinking about you guys so was very glad to see this new update this morning where seems to be great progress in your recovery.
Man, if I ever crashed I sure would hope to have someone like Pia with me.
She is definitely your angel Ken.

    Good luck guys.

    • @RidetheBean
      @RidetheBean  3 роки тому +1

I know the feeling. I am also a very introverted person and never used to comment or make statements publicly until we decided that we need to try to get out of our comfort zone. That was the whole reason we started this cannel in the first place. To force ourselves to be more uncomfortable. And it has really paid off. Getting all these comments from you all has meant so much to us and I am now much less afraid of doing or saying something in public forums.
Than you for commenting on our video 🙂
Sorry that we ruined your sleep. That was not our intention😔 But know we are getting better every day, so no need to worry 🙂
I am so happy Pia was with me. Without her that would have been the end of me. I would have felt too stupid to call the ambulance and would probably just have fallen asleep there and bled out. She is a true lifesaver 😛

I have to disagree there 😝 I liked the stickers. It was mean to remove them when I could not do anything about it😝

I have been very impressed by both of you. Having had a couple of serious crashes in the last 5 years, and a supportive wife also in the medical field, I understand how much you rely and appreciate each other. I also appreciate your determination to keep riding and restart your journey. Goals are so important. I’ll also share that on the Trans American Trail 6 years ago I the middle of a desert, going at a good speed at the last minute I saw a ditch in the road and grabbed the brakes in time to barely make it through safely. Your story brought that fear back to me instantly. I am sorry you have both gone through this, but I can’t help but notice you both seem to have come through this stronger, but more importantly, your love has become even more strong. Best wishes on the continuation of your journey, AND your love story!

Having a partner who is trained for how to deal with similar situations has been incredibly valuable. Especially the first few days after waking up from the coma. Having someone there who is able to actually describe what is going on and why was so helpful.
You are right. Goals are very important. This goal we have worked on for too long to just give up now. Give us a few more months and we will be able to continue 🙂
Hope you and your wife are doing OK after your accidents.

Looking much stronger big man, good to see. Just consider yourself in for a service, like the bikes. Change of fluids and spanner check to tighten the loose bits and pieces.(Cappuccino and latte? Did the bikes ever get names?) We all need maintenance and the odd repair, do we not?
By the time you are ready to travel the World will be open again, we hope. So you timed your maintenance break well.
Time for another nutty bean coffee here. I have become addicted and cannot function without it. Intravenous is a real possibility!

That is a good way of looking at it 😛 I just needed to do some maintenance on my engine😝 Remove parts of a damaged exhaust pipe 😝
I really hope the borders will open by the time spring comes! It would suck to again be ready to leave and be stopped by closed borders...
Glad you like the coffee 🙂 Right now we are aurally out of the nutty bean, but on Monday next week we get more 😛 Our roaster Adrian is about to open a new part of his roastery and actually purchased the roaster that I used to work on. We will pay a visit to his new place when we feel a bit better and he is ready for visitors.
I think Pia could benefit from intravenous coffee 😝 She drinks coffee until it squirts out of her ears!

Hi Pia and Kenneth, I just came across your channel and watched your adventure episodes 1 - 5 back to back. I am now an emotional wreck!
Pia you are an inspiration, you have such a calm, kind and caring nature, the Norway Health Service is so lucky to have you. I also work for the NHS in the UK (nearly 30 years now) and I see every day how dedicated our medical teams are and I'm so glad to see that the care Kenneth has received in Norway is excellent.
As a fellow motorcyclist I feel for you both, that was a nasty accident and Kenneth is so lucky he had such a capable co rider, before my current hospital role I used to work for the London Ambulance Service and it is rare to see someone deal with such a bad situation so efficiently.
I'm so glad to see Kenneth is well on the road to recovery and he has the advantage of a first class Nurse to help him on his way. You two have something very special and it's so good you have found each other, I have subscribed and I'm looking forward to your next update, I hope you are back riding very soon Kenneth but take it easy, no more river rides!
