    Ken looks like he’s in the wars at the moment a bit of a setback unfortunately but he’s in good hands, it must be hard for you Pia ,to keep mentally positive under these trying times, so do not feel guilty having some “me” time for yourself ,you will both get through this and it will soon be a distant nightmare.

    Hello from South Africa. Again such a reminder how quickly life can change in a moment. Someone I know had similar injuries after getting hit in the stomach area by a wheel that came off a car while he was out riding. He almost died, but after spending weeks in hospital and numerous surgeries he recovered and today is back out doing off-road racing on his KTM. Just stay positive and soon this all will just be a story to be told while sitting around a camp fire.

    Pia, so glad that you could get out for a ride, I am sure you can't wait to do it on your own bike.
    My wife Lisa finally got her Tenere yesterday after waiting for 4.5 months for it. Worked out nice that the 10" of snow we got a week ago was all gone just in time to get her bike. Sadly I am sure that there won't be many more riding days left this year, but at least she got her bike, and i can start adding all the parts that have been waiting in the spare room.
    I am, and I am sure you are, looking forward to Kenneth and you both being back on your bikes.
    I just received my "Nutty Bean" coffee, thanks.
    All the best from Southern Utah, Kenneth we are praying that all the complications are behind you, and that your recovery is miraculously rapid. Pia, I am always so impressed with who you are, I am sure I don't have to tell Kenneth how blessed he is to have you in his life, if he ever forgets drop me a line I will be more than happy to remind him, just kidding Kenneth, I really don't think you are so foolish to ever forget.

    • @RidetheBean
      @RidetheBean  3 роки тому

      Hi Jack!
      So happy to hear Lisa got her Tenere and could take it for a ride! How did she like it? That's just perfect timing. Is winter in Utah long?
      Thank you so much for your kind words, Jack. I´ll be sure to drop you a line if he needs a reminder =)

    • @jacksloan3516
      @jacksloan3516 3 роки тому

      @@RidetheBean She loved it, said she had really missed riding.
      As far as the length of winter, we live at 6800 ft. so last year we got our first snow at the end of November and it stayed until April. But generally they get the roads clear and the temp goes up about 10 degrees in about 10 miles down the road and in 34 miles it runs about 25 degrees warmer so not too far and it's nice riding in the winter. It remains to be seen if Lisa will be inclined to brave the cold for those first few miles, but we will see how it goes.

    Kenneth, good effort with coffee by Pia, but the master barrista is definitely needed! I still can't quite get it perfectly right myself though. Will try fruity bean on next order!

    Hi you two. What a beautiful Fall ride you went on, Pia. Great music too! My Ride the Bean t-shirt arrived yesterday. I love it. I'm looking forward to receiving the Fruity Bean coffee and sticker. Many weeks in the hospital is really really tough, Kenneth. I know. My "sentence" was ten, doing laps in the hallway once my legs could bare weight again. My wife came to see me every single day. I'm so lucky. Walking, stretching, using your hospital gym, that will all help with your recovery. And you will recover, to ride again. Your videos make me smile. Thank you. Stay strong. Gord Henderson. You should know most people recover quite well after a car crash or in your case a motorcycle crash that on the face of it was not all that severe. Good luck, get better now not soon!✌😎🏴‍☠️

      Sorry to hear about your neck, but glad you are able to ride still 🙂 Riding a motorcycle is the best kind of mental therapy there is! I can not wait to get back on the bike again!
      We were very lucky that it was not a lot worse. If it had happened somewhere outside of Scandinavia or Europe it would not have turned out the same way.

    Hi Ken, good to see you walking around and make some exercise to strengthen your muscles. The T7 weight on paper is 204 kg and you have to handle your bike properly again. I'm right now learning with my T7 and enjoy it like you and Pia.
    Make sure you pencil SKOG 2021 in your calender just in case you'll have a late adventure start next year. Want to see both of you next year. Greetings from 🇩🇪, Bernd

      I have to be able to left a loaded bike back up by the time we leave. But I have until may next year to get strong enough 😛
      Glad to hear you are enjoying your T7. It is an amazing bike and so much fun to ride!
      We have a few friends going to the SKOG event next year. If we can we'll be there, but most likely we'll be much further south at that time.
      We may show up in a couple of years when we get back to Scandinavia after the trip 😛
      If you get the chance to come to Grimsbu in Norway for the Bukkerittet off-road motorcycle event I would recommend it. It is the biggest event for ADV and off-road riders in Norway. Every year in the middle of August.
      We are definitely going there when we are back too 😝

    I'm with you guys all the time! Please take care about yourselfs and recover as quick as possible. When you decide to go again on your bikes please do some real off road trainings first, change stock !!shitty!! t7 tires, I'm using Motoz RallyZ on my T7 which are really awesome for off road riding, and buy yourself real protection like this which is using by motocross guys, armor for chest and back protection, orthosis for leg protection, good offroading boots etc. All best for you! I'm happy to see you in better shape! Best regards from Poland!

    • @RidetheBean
      @RidetheBean  3 роки тому +1

      We have been thinking about a lot of these things and we will make some adjustments before setting off again. The stock tires are decent on dry surfaces, but we were planning on changing them when we got back to Trondheim. We just never made it there on the bikes 😒
      We are also getting new boots and more protection. But we won't have time to doo too much training. We have a very good friend in Jon Øyvind who has helped us and taught us a lot, so we'll just have to take it easy and remember what he has taught us 😛
      We don't want to ride fast, we want to take it slow and easy and enjoy the journey. 🙂

    This will sound stupid, I was thinking about another option, just a temporarly one until Kenneth is fully recovered. I hope you wont hate me for my suggestion, but I really enjoy your adventure and all I want is for both of you, is to carry on with it. By looks of this vid it seems like the time for Kenneth’s rehab will take a while🤷‍♂️ What about to explore the world in a 4x4? Well equipped with all the gear you need for wildcamping, that are capable to reach remote areas😛Pick a new destination and use your time for fully recovery, make new fun vids from that journey. Head back to Norway when your are 100% and get up the T7 and start all over again. But my hope is of course that you both will heal up quick and get on with the ride as planned❤️

    • @RidetheBean
      @RidetheBean  3 роки тому +1

      That would be great! The problem m is that it would cost a lot of extra money, and we don't have a 4x4 🤔
      According to the doctors we will be fit to travel again by may next year. Now winter has arrived in Trondheim as well, so we cant really ride our bikes. In one way the times is good, since we now can spend winter recovering so we are ready to leave when the snow melts in spring.
      But I do really like the Idea of traveling in a off road capable car or van too 😛 Maybe for the next adventure 😝

    • @nemoltu
      @nemoltu 3 роки тому +1

      With this corona sh... happening, there are no chances for traveling anyway. Quarantine in all countries and all that crap. So it's a really good time for recovering.

      @RidetheBean  3 роки тому +1

      Agree what Nemo says, no rush anyway as long the lockdown is in progress. I got a little bit carried away by the 4x4 idea, in the best worlds it could have been a good alternative, if things doesnt work as planned. But, we forget that thought and focus on May 2021 now😛Take care to both of you and stay strong❤️

    Hi RtB. I just hope that the government or whoever the land belongs to, where the accident happened, put up signs that there is no bridge, or put a bridge there, to avoid this from happening again. I guess we won't be meeting up in Cape Town due to the delay :-(. I will follow your journey. Maybe, just maybe I can go to Cape Town again when you reach South Africa. Hopefully it will be in summer months, as the Cape can get very unpleasant during winter, with snow, rain and very strong winds. Best time for Cape Town is late Jan to mid Apr. Stay safe

      That is too bad 😐 but who knows? We may end up meeting somewhere anyway😝
      Since our departure gets moved by 6 or so months we have to replan our timeline and possibly route given the situation in certain places. But we’ll see what the world looks like next spring 😛 if we are en route to arriving in the cape during winter we may decide to cruise around a bit closer to the equation for a while until spring comes😛 we have all the time we want so why not?😝
