Dimash is Muslim, Igor is Jewish and Ave Maria is traditionally a Christian song.. Dimash wanted a heavenly prayer for good people of all paths to the light to enjoy therefore this exquisite vocalise was created and performed with intense reverance.🙏🙏🙏

Dimash is just great, isn't he? He manages to lift people to heaven with just one vowel. He leaves me speechless every time I hear this song. And I love it when the drums come in. It's so unique. Igor Krutoy (the gentleman at the piano) composed this version of the Ave Maria at Dimash's request. It's not the Ave Maria you may know. Did you know that there are more than 100 versions of the Ave Maria? Now there is one more.
Usually, Ave Maria is a prayer to the Holy Virgin Mary. In this case, however, it is a prayer for all people, no matter what religion they belong to.
Besides that Dimash is a Muslim and Igor Kurtoy, who often accompanies him on the piano, is Jewish. That is why this Ave Maria has no lyrics, since it is not only sung for Christians.
He sang this song on the New Wave in Sochi, Russia in 2021. This is an international contest for young performers founded by Igor Krutoy in 2002. Dimash sang here as a guest and was also a member of the jury.
Igor Krutoy is a famous Russian-Ukrainian composer, producer and songwriter. His and Dimash's collaboration created true masterpieces. He writes songs that only Dimash could sing with his vocal range, such as Olimpico, Stranger or Ave Maria. You’ll often see him accompanying Dimash on the piano. If Igor Krutoy is there, the song was also written by him.The two have no contract. Their cooperation is based more on mutual trust. It’s more like a father/son relationship. By the way the last note is called messa di voce, according to Wikepedia, a “dynamic singing ornament” on a particularly long sustained note.
It consists of a rise and fall (crescendo, decrescendo) of the vocal volume during the sustained tone, without changing the pitch and other aspects such as intonation and vibrato. In the past, this singing technique in bel canto was often considered the ultimate test of a singer's singing ability.
He performed this song on the same show as Stranger, just not on the same day.

Samaltau is about a young Kazakh who was forcibly recruited by Russia in 1916. He was forced to leave his home country and his elderly parents to go to war (WWI) and does not know what awaits him there as a soldier or how his elderly parents are to manage without him. Normally there are no vocal acrobatics in his native songs and I love them a lot. In every of this songs you can hear the great love and devotion to his country and his people.
Another one, Qairan Elim means Holy Land and is a prayer and an expression of fear about the fate of Dimash's country and the world in general. The MV is fantastic and he even directed it. The man, Renat Gaissin (a Kazakh composer) on the piano is also a friend of his and he has also written songs for Dimash such as River Of Love, an instrumental in which Dimash plays the dombra, and the song Òmir Òter (Ode to Life). This MV was presented of the 30th anniversary of Kazakhstan’s independence. Also a must see but switch on the subtitles. A masterpiece. Goosebumps!

Olzhas Qurmanbek, who always plays the Qobyz in his songs, wasn‘t there or not yet there. Than Dimash sang the sounds of the Qobyz. It took me a a while to realize that this isn’t an instrument at all, it's Dimash‘s voice. At first I couldn’t believe it, but then I thought, Ok , it’s Dimash😄.

No Lyrics, but plenty of HEART! Dimash can produce what you have just heard, because he PRACTICES like NO OTHER HUMAN! Dimash brings such HONOR to not only this masterpiece, but FIRSTLY, to his parents, friends, country, and anyone he comes in contact with. I have seen so many instances where Dimash is so respectful to others, his HUMILITY is INCOMPARABLE! I just feel blessed being alive while Dimash's life unfolds in front of me, sharing the same soul experience through music, even without words, Ave Maria has become so perfect through him. This big event was coming up, and Dimash called Maestro Igor.
He said he wanted him to compose an Ave Maria without words.
Since Dimash is Muslim, he did not want to speak words worshiping another god.
Igor was a bit intimidated (very unusual) but had just completed reading a book on your abilities you are not aware of and sat down and composed the musical number.
He sent it to Dimash and Dimash performed it here. All of this happened in a two week period.

Yes, all are Abrahamic, but praying to Mary is not Christian either. So, as a Christ follower I view this exquisite piece of music as a worship accompaniment to a few moments taken to pause and worship the one and only true Creator God and His one and only begotten Son, Jesus Christ 🙏💖. That last note was a special technique that he used. It is called messa di voce - where the volume slowly increases and then decreases. He starts it off with straight tone and finishes with a delicate vibrato. Absolutely pure. Like the thinnest of glass. Just stunning. It pierces me and almost lifts my soul out of my body every single time. When he stops, time stands still. There are no words when you are in the place that he takes you to. In fact, you can see that he is still there up in the clouds at the end, while he gently bends to take the first flowers. It takes him a minute or so to come back to earth.
There is a little video clip online where he is practising this technique repeatedly with his teacher until he gets it right. Sometimes we may think that he knows these things instinctively but he doesn't. He has to learn them first.
But when he sings this song, and although I am non-religious, to me he is like an angel come down from heaven. So special that it is almost unbelievable.

If I'm not mistaken, this “Ave Maria” by composer and conductor Igor Krutoy is a work in vocalize format, completely unpublished, although it seems to be a variation of the initial theme (not the introduction but the singing part) of the melody by Schubert adapted to Dimash's voice in order to explore just as three initial notes and changing the fourth note to a higher note (From B4, A4 D#4 C#4 and B4 to G#4, G4, G4, D#5): Like a leap from "dark to light" which is the same contrast as Dimash's outfit (from dark to light)! It also seems to refer to the Russian V. Vavilov's version of "Ave Maria" (wrongly credited to Caccine) and work by JS Bach - Prelude No. 1 in C major, BWV 846, with arrangements by Gounod, which Maetro Igor Krutoy has a predilection for!

Dimash can hit all the notes, if he goes higher he enters the whistle register which starts around D6 if you consider the range he has showed us then he actually goes 2 octaves from that D6, D7, D8, Dimash has plowed all through the 7th Octaves in various performances. Mariah Careys famous whistle high is F7# Dimash has hit G7, G7# C7# and D8 all higher than Mariah's best days. My point being you said he didn't go higher, but really there isn't much higher to go until you are outside of singing notes and enter whistle territory. He can hit the highest singing notes with ease. I just wanted to point it out to you, there is nowhere to go except higher in whistle notes and those are used to embellish but not general singing.

This "Ave Maria" is not the one you refer to which is Schubert's. Igor Krutoy (at the piano) composed this "Ave Maria" at Dimash's request. Because you are interested in these things, FYI, there have been many many "Ave Maria" composed throughout the past centuries. There is of course Schubert's but also Gounod's, Verdi's, Caccini's, just to name a few.

Being that he is a Muslim.I don't think he was allowed to sing the words of "ave maria"., Unlike Jackie evanko's version from 2014.... Which she recorded on album at age 13 and there is a beautiful live rendition from the PBS .Great performances concert online,/YT.
