As an owner of a 2012 ST Manual, the fact that the boot is smaller in the new model, is another missed opportunity. Ours has 230,000km on it and it’s been really reliable (except for the air con compressor failing), but not overly economical when running around town. It’s VERY good on fuel (6L/100km) on the highway, but gets around 10-10.8L/100 around the suburbs. With a good set of tyres, (like the Michelin Primacy 4 ST’s) you really won’t have any issues with traction. The new model looks pretty good, but by today’s standards, it’s quite thirsty. Good review… Thanks!
Though many people talk about the CVT by just driving the car for a few hours, the truth is for the purpose is there, it does its job brilliantly! For every day and many years of driving is the right tool. Yes it is not for racing. But it is economical to drive daylight. As for the Nissan XTrail, this depends on which level you are in. I had the top of the range and it was an excellent experience!
As a person who drives one of these three times a week for work problems that I found is the seats are too firm and the boot floor could could be more flatter and the suspension is just a little bit too harsh and could really do without the CVT. But other than that, the car's not too bad. Way better than the previous model. Just my opinion though.. ohhhh would be nice if you guys did a review on the base model Honda CRV 😎
@@brightenupcc I'll take a CVT over a DCT any day of the week. Do you have and statistics to back your review of the CVT failure rate in the T33 model or are you simply going by the T32 and T31? There are plenty of T32s and T31s that have well over 200,000 Kms on their original CVTs. The key to a long life CVT is servicing every 40,000 kms.
Thanks Alexandra. A good summary and presentation. The CVT is a killer for me though

I've always like the Nissan X-TRAIL but I test drove one of these last year and it felt far too lethargic for me. Great review Alex.

ちなみにカップホルダーの問題は、
2024年製からカップホルダーに爪がついて問題が解消されました。
またHDMI端子も増設されました。
An added HDMI input would be nice.
Are the CVT still likely to shit itself post warranty
Good review thanks Ali. Seems quite roomy and maybe you just need a bigger cup of coffee.

Line of the year from Ali!
Avoid at all costs…CVT transmission
What’s wrong with CVT?
How can any 'car reviewer' in good conscience not mention the horde of failed CVTs that render these cars worthless?
