I always struggled with abstract painting, but your videos helped me to let go from perfectionism and let my feelings and colors just flow onto the paper. This feels so good and I love the results ❤ thank you so much
I know it's a different medium, but I love nail polish. To me collecting polish & wearing it are two different things & I love both! I love color, color stories and how it can come together to be something new & beautiful. Watching you with art supplies & making art reminds me of myself and nail polish. ☮️❤️🙂
I just spent a fortune! You are an enabler 😊 thanks for sharing! I can’t wait to get my goodies. I so enjoy your videos! Being the caretaker of a 90 year old mother is tough but these smaller projects are just perfect to get my creativity time!
Love the haul (and your enthusiasm) :). One thing about using the gouache on the stencil … unlike the acrylics, if you don’t clean it off … the gouache will reactivate the next time you use it. Could be a fun surprise … or a disaster.
OMG... You are so amazing!!! First time I feel that I was right there painting with you and getting the same happy feeling you were experience as you tried the new products!! Hahahahaa! We got some pretty awesome results, didn't we? Once again, I learned & enjoyed a lot hunging out with you. Thanks!!!
This is only the 2nd one of your videos that I have seen, and I want you to know just how fun it is to watch your videos. Your enthusiasm and zeal for your art work is just contagious. One of the things I liked about this video is that you talked about what these art supplies are. Since I don’t watercolor this is a great way for me to learn a little about it. I think I would like to be your friend. You make me laugh.
I’m a relatively new subscriber & I must say I think you are my inspiration to do better at watercolor. I’ve tried many times but I have struggled. I just love your color combos and I love the mark making on the watercolors with the variety of media you use. Just beautiful❣️. You’re too cute too & I giggle at your signature sounds you make when you get giddy over what you do❣️. It’s great🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🐝🐝

awhile back ii started getting two at a time of _______...anything ii love using... feeling sorta guilty & glad at the same time being less precious abt rating bigger or mixing things up. Love all you do.
I love having an extra so I’m less precious with it too!! And I secretly fear running out if I love it 😂… I’m glad I’m not the only one that does that! 😊
Every once in a while the UA-cam algorithm does something right, and putting you in my feed is one of those times! I loved the video, you are a hoot! And now I have to go to STL art supply 😂 not sure if it's a good thing that I'm local or not.
Oh yes... I'm a fan of Cheap Joes too!! I wish there was a decent art store on my side of town where I am... it is a good hour's drive to one... so I order a lot online rather than try to fight Atlanta traffic... but then again... I'd probably be in trouble if there were one closer... hahaha!! 😊
Oh man...I'm here for the art hauls my own and yours! ;) somehow watching these leads to much hauling of the supplies,. I am so thrilled I found you and am throughly enjoying all the videos. I especially appreciate seeing how different mediums can work together. I just ordered, ahem..., some of the Kuretake charcoal watercolors and the gold ink. Do I need the brass tipped pen? I think I do...Your videos have enriched my practice so much. A deep heartfelt thank you. I know how much time goes into these videos.
I read somewhere that all Posca pens have dual tips, I guess you can pull out the tip and turn it over revealing fine and thicker tips. Check it out!!! Love your videos ❤
Hi Denise 👋🏻. Love your ‘stuff reveal’’. Ooooooo. I have just ordered some Kuritaki gold ink, cannot wait for delivery. I know you use the brass nib, can you advise another way to use the ink for best results. Brass nib will be coming soon. Thank you for sharing. 💕 From Australia 🇦🇺
Denise - you’re killing’ me with all of the fabulousness! I use a lot of Tim Holtz stencils as well. How do you go about receiving art boxes? I’m assuming you have to contact the art supply store and sign up? Paint on , girl 🥰🥰
I'll add that to my idea list... it has been a while since I've had the graphite watercolors out... I was completely obsessed with them for a while and made several classes with the kuretake and some custom made ones. I think the thing I didn't love about the Derwent ones was the size of the color squares. They are so small compared to the big pans of Kuretake. I'll get them back out and have a play! 😊
You had me at Holbein! That's my medium and gouache of choice. Now you can say PO-sca, or PA-sca, but this is definitely Hol-bine, and not "whole bean." Figured I'd correct that one before you got the coffee term grooved in. 😂Since you seemed new to gouache let me give you a little tip: while you can use it in a similar way to watercolors, they are not equal. If you dilute the gouache too much you will lose it's main characteristic-and benefits-that being opacity, and the fact that you can work dark to light because of it. Also, you work in thinner layers on the bottom (if your'e layering) because the thicker layers are more easily reactivated, and you might not want that. It might lead to mud. There's more on the basics of gouache but I figured you didn't expect a lesson in a comment, lol. Fun video. Thanks, Denis.

“Sized” means ready for watercolor, right?
Yes! Sizing is used to alter the absorbent qualities of paper. Watercolor paper absorbs paint directly into the fibers like a sponge without sizing. 😊
