Haha! I am an Australian and I can totally understand why our accent is difficult for you! Sometimes, especially when people speak quickly, even we struggle with it! Luckily, in the more metropolitan areas (including suburbs near the cities) the accent is less relaxed and so is easier to understand. I'd say just remember the 'r' isn't really pronounced (unless it's at the end of a word before another word with a vowel at the start, e.g,. I've lived in Burleigh waters for a little over 12 years now and I'm sick of it here, I hate the muggy months, beaches are boring and I almost never go there anymore. Almost all of my time is spent in my air conditioned room on my computer. I sometimes walk Cavill Ave on the big nights (Australia day, new years eve, etc). One thing that remains true is that some shops in surfers paradise have the best fish and chips on the planet! my subjective opinion of course, though every time I'm in surfers it's tradition now that I get fish and chips and I've not yet been let down, always consistently awesome.
I’ve always wanted to go to Australia but have been terrified of the spiders I was stocking Australian licorice candy at work the other day and there was a spider in the taped shut box😐

Although the nature is beautiful and people are extremely friendly, Australia is behind God's back...."Down under" as it is well said by them. It is isolated. People who grew up there are not even aware of it, as I experienced, they think AU is the middle of the world:) And the country itself is big, you drive for 10 hours from one place to another. Here, in Europe, everything is close, I love the diversity, you drive two hours, and find yourself in a completely different nation, culture.
Awesome. I wanna go! However, I cannot even afford to fly from the west coast to the east coast. Us Australians practically live in Jumanji because almost everything tries to kill you especially when your in the country side. Unless if you’re careful
I am in my 60s, living in rural Victoria beside the Murray River. We have a shack 34 minutes drive from home and since I retired I spend usually 7-10 days at a time there five or six times a year, just me and my two border collie X kelpie dogs. I have been walking in the bush almost daily for 40+ years and I have only ever come across three snakes. (We have chooks and my hubby sees on average four or five in our backyard every year but I have never seen one.) Also despite travelling frequently on bush tracks I HAD never hit a kangaroo until about two years ago. The second one was in a 60km zone kms from the centre of town. (Not happy Jan!) The main rule of thumb in Australia is to just "let them be free." Our animals are as frightened of us as we are of them and problems usually only occur when we cross paths!
I've seen a lot of red backs, couple of brown snakes and kangaroos. I'd say the most dangerous ones are the roos, they love the hop in front of your car from wherever they are hiding or even if they are 50 m from the road, they'll rush to cross in front of you as you're passing. I would only like roos if they were fly eaters which they're not, yet...
@@JuanPablo-kj9dg I don't know if this is true or an Urban Myth. My sister lives in Bendigo and RACV thought there was an excessive amount of claims about cars hitting 'roos. Apparently RACV sent an investigator to Bendigo but he hit a kangaroo on his way there up there. It seems a bit sus though. What's the point of sending anyone to physically investigate? The Skippies don't listen. They think jumping in front of cars is our national pass time. I've hit two roos in 40 years of driving ...and the first one was at Huntly on the outskirts of Bendigo! I could have saved the RACV bloke a trip to investigate! Have a good one!

Come to perth, we have so many beaches better than Bondi. OMG thats another conversation, people thinking Bondi is the best beach in Australia which is not true. Go to esperance or exmouth or anywhere on the wa coast and it puts Bondi to shame
I completely agree. I lived in Perth until age 8 and then we moved to the east coast, and of course we frequent the beaches there. Still visit Perth every few years and their beaches are my favourite. And having travelled all around Australia for four months, it saddens me that tourists and even Australians are missing out on so much in this country.
I agree I am from America and if I had the opportunity I would choose Perth. I have heard all of Australia is great but was always attracted to the Western side especially Perth. I have heard great things from people who have visited
I'm a Australian yes we have deadly spiders the Sydney funnel web, red back' s and white tail spider's lots of very deadly snake,s fresh and salt water crocodiles, stingers that is a very small jelly fish that can kill you, blue ringed octopus the list goes on and on plants that sting you with thousands of tiny needle fibers, if you come to Australia and go north Queensland the crocodiles are in the water ways but do come to Australia it's a awesome place.😁👍

I felt like that when I lived in Brisbane and the Gold Coast. I left when I was 30 and 43 years later LOVE the Canberra area still.
You can have too much of a good thing, but australia isn't as perfect as people think it is. You were just really good at getting what you wanted
Love that last guy :)
4:50 news to me but cool to hear
I’ve always wanted to go to Australia but have been terrified of the spiders I was stocking Australian licorice candy at work the other day and there was a spider in the taped shut box😐
Oh no, did you steal one of our spiders?
The guy with the grey beard turned around when the Indian couple said 18 is way too young drink😅
parisd0g 72 it’s funny that she says that considering they marry off their children at 12 !
I’m from Australia I have NEVER and I mean never seen a wild snake before except a dead one on the side of the street the spiders are in corners and easy to see nothing to worry about
Really? I see king browns and red bellies all the time out in the bush, same with huntsmans and trapdoors 😂 😂
@@TA-ls5nr Yes, but as you said, you are out in the bush.
THE TOURIST DESTINATION WHERE YOU CAN COME, BUT NEVER LEAVE !!!
Very pleased quite a few made the point there are not dangerous animals everywhere trying to eat you.
Spiders : as a native animal of Australia, we are going to greet the tourists and introduce Australia to them!
*Tourists came*
Spiders : hello mate, welcome to Austral---
Tourist : BURN THEM THEY'RE TRYING TO KILL US ALL!!!!
Spiders : why are people so mean to us 😭😭😭😭
So that bloke's been to Antarctica. Cool.
The things they don’t hear when we’re in our cars
As someone whom has started drinking since 14, I can say that the suggestion to change drinking till 21 can git farrrrked!
See we say there’s scary animal’s to scare people away because if everyone new how good it was everyone would live here
EXACTLY!
The reason everything closes early is it’s safer as if they didn’t there would be more idots roaming the street and more crime happens at night time
The reason everything closes early is that our labour laws allow workers to have a life.
Every Australian knows, we have won the lottery of life.
Yeah, true. It makes me angry when they take their country for granted
@RyanLye1975 how do you know? I bet your one of those Australians who've never been further than Bali !
3:22 these must be fun at parties :p
Some of em say they ain't gonna get eatin wait till they go to the bush mate

Hey good on ya mate ! ..but then does anyone know what's the song's name ..which is been played in the end of the clip
The song is called Way Up by Hartley. It’s a royalty free song I licensed from Premiumbeat 😊 www.premiumbeat.com/royalty-free-tracks/way-up
@@WelcomeTo Oh alright thanks for the recommendation mate!
I hated the guy who said that he was thankful that he hadn’t seen any drop bears. I swear there are so many Americans who believe in Drop bears
Awesome. I wanna go! However, I cannot even afford to fly from the west coast to the east coast. I hope someday Australia will have marketing campaign to bring over Americans who cannot afford a trip to Aussie.
Today, I asked if someone was Aussie, but he said he was English. I thought he had an outback voice buy apparently I was wrong. Lol.
Haha, I guess English accents can sound similar to us!
And hopefully! 🤞 But in the meantime, you can experience Australia through this channel! 😛
Let’s swap places I’ve never been out of Australia
Just fly to japan then across to Australia. You can stay overnight in a hotel at the narita airport.
When in the USA I continually get told I am "British" but my husband is easily recognised as an Aussie. Apparently a good school is my burden!
Very nice my friend ❤️
That was nice.
That was great
Thank you random Swede for validating that Melbourne gets fckin cold in the winter!
21 drinking age 🤔 but okay to die at 18 as a soldier and be treated like an adult in that respect. Just a thought!
Don't worry about ... they are typical india parents....
Yepp , they're what we all refer to them as Boomers. They're just so stiff and so formal in the video as well, when the actual truth is here in India we been drinking from the age of 15 😂 and they don't even know. Now ofcourse were grown-ups and make sure the next younger generation that it's okay to try a few as long as they don't disrespect or do any harm to the others! Cheers lad 🍻
ay AY... leave our drinking age along
1:57 " normal"
Ask australians what they think about cricket ?
Cricket isn't rlly a thing for us, we r more on the football side lmao
I love cricket
Australian since birth, sixth generation. Cricket is SO boring.
We like soccer more
Us Australians practically live in Jumanji because almost everything tries to kill you especially when your in the country side. Unless if you’re careful
Really depends on where you live, but overall I slightly agree.
You mean like the Red Bellied Black snake that was in my kitchen? I just called the snake catcher! $70 fixed it. She'll be right mate.
You don't ask random people questions. The great majority of people that you ask are a similar age to yourself, and that me lad, is far far from random.
Oh god. Snakes and bloody spiders. Wow many do they actually see 🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️. Gees.
ok u cant compare california and vegas to australia dude
OZ has loads of space like America does, which is why I think it can sometimes seem similar.
God forbid!
American population 300 million. Australia population 26 million. More room for everyone😁
some Aussie please adopt me! sheeesh
outro song pls

I swear when tourists think of Australia, they only think of the coast between Brisbane and Melbourne. No tourist ever says let's go to perth and tbh, i haven't been over east but from what I've heard, perth is way better than Melbourne and Sydney combined. Come to perth, we have so many beaches better than Bondi. OMG thats another conversation, people thinking Bondi is the best beach in Australia which is not true. Go to esperance or exmouth or anywhere on the wa coast and it puts Bondi to shame
I've been to Lancelin area and the beaches are beyond this world. Lonely, pure white sand and cristal clear water, amazing.
WA has some of the best beaches I’ve ever seen anywhere in the world.
I will be 74 this year and have spent time in Europe, Asia, USA and Canada - but not Perth. Why would I bother to go there?
🧚🏻♂️🌌🦅
When will these tourists realize that Aussies do not have accents.
Then what’s that thing called the way you sound?
the spiders are not scary i grabbed 1 by a leg lol
I'm a Australian yes we have deadly spiders the Sydney funnel web, red back' s and white tail spider's lots of very deadly snake,s fresh and salt water crocodiles, stingers that is a very small jelly fish that can kill you, blue ringed octopus the list goes on and on plants that sting you with thousands of tiny needle fibers, if you come to Australia and go north Queensland the crocodiles are in the water ways but do come to Australia it's a awesome place.😁👍
Oh and one last thing when we had floods and the river banks broke we had bull sharks swimming down the main st of Toowoomba past the butcher shop that's a suburb of Brisbane, this is for real 2010 floods
"De girls and de bitch"
Snakes and spiders everywhere ? You sure you are in Australia ?
It’s ridiculous! Don’t understand why people focus in this when you rarely see these things
Hayret bizden kimse yok
sad part is, most of locals dont want influx of tourists
The girl at 4:29 in the background
Did she just flip the bird?
AND HE SAID THEYRE NICE
"best things are the girls and the bitches"
ugh... kind of the same thing mate 😉
I'm Italian... I'm so sorry... I think he meant beaches... It's hard for us to pronounce these two words correctly 😂
WELCOME to the Gold Coast, Australia's wort place.
Wort?
The Indian couple are right that 18 is too young to be treated as an adult
What should have been changed is sending 18 year olds to war.
