Exactly. If nothing else, A Goofy Movie came out about 2 years before Titanic did. So it’s possible that Titanic is actually referencing A Goofy Movie referencing Grease.
"Here's another Easter Egg. Do you know Mickey Mouse? Look, here he is singing an entire verse of a song in the center of the screen for several seconds!"
Zero Todona prince? Are you kidding me?? Was his glove purple? Nooo! Did he have a guitar shaped like a symbol or a zodiac sign? No way Jose!! Was this made in 1999? No not even close. So then there is no reason he would be modeled after Prince.
Also, if you pay really close attention, you can see the nuns at Goofy's Job, On the Open Road, in the diner, at the monster truck rally, AND pulling into the concert( you can recognize their station wagon).
Powerline was based of both Michael Jackson and Prince and Devo. The concept was to have a hip reference in the film both young and older audiences were linked into.
@@lexxxthedestroyer6398 no Kevin Campbell ended up getting the role Bobby brown was first choice but the drug problem caused him the role. Powerline still kept his design
Power line was actually based off Bobby Brown who was actually going to voice him. However they had Tevin Campbell voice him after Bobby got into drug problems
A movie that aged well, and a film that I grew up with and was literally my childhood, such an iconic storyline, characters, emotion and a top tier soundtrack by Tevin Cambell. This film is probably one of the best Disney films ever created, especially with a Walt Disney Original character. Loved the easter eggs they had in it too
Simba wasn't self centered. Scar told him to run away and never returned bc he made Simba think that he killed his own father, when it was really Scar who was behind the whole thing. Simba was dealing with depression and PTSD.
Literally so much childhood nostalgia right here. Like the amount of creativity & easter eggs this movie had, and how endless it is, really shows how truly amazing it was, especially when it first came out as well as the reactions you would get when you noticed it, like they nailed the easter eggs, literally loved seeing them since its always nice to see hints alongside references to Disney itself, or to other films and characters, not just the movie itself. One of the greatest Disney films of all time especially the Walt Disney Orignal logo & character like Goofy. A movie that I grew up with, and was literally my childhood. A movie that to this day, whenever I re-watch it, I still get the same reactions when I first watched it, the heartfelt moments, the emotion, cheer, & much more. With such an incredible heartfelt story, with characters that literally just makes you laugh, cheer, heartfelt, and of course the incredible soundtracks of Tevin Campbell which is just so legendary as well as top tier. Like this movie never gets old & still lives up to a lot. Truly unforgettable, legendary, and the golden era of Disney films. Time literally passes by so fast, that you only realize it, when you look back. Literally a classic, that gets old, but is always gold. With age it only becomes better and better, its literally timeless.
I just found that out the other night when I was watching Simba’s Pride after watching a goofy movie. I heard Kovu sing and was like “.... wait a second... theres no way” and I looked it up. I cant believe I never noticed when I was a kid, especially since these two were a few of my favorites :0
You're pointing things out that the movie literally shoves in your face. 90% of the people who have watched this movie are almost 30 or older. We know what these things are now. The leaning tower of cheeza is a reference to a famous italian tower? Who knew?!? Everyone, that's who.
For those of you who don't know this, Pat Buttram also did the voice of Cactus Jake in the cartoon Garfield and Friends. This cartoon ended in 1995 around the time that Buttram died, and there is a reference to him in one of the cartoons.
@@jamesmoyner7499 don't worry about it most people don't know that. although he doesn't die until pretty much the end and it was old age in most translations. Some translations says it was his dad other translation says the old Prince loved Bambi like his son so really it depends on what version you read.
One that you may have missed, and I could be over thinking this one, but Lester the Possum and his Possum Posse were heavily inspired by Disneylands Country Bear Jamboree
I think there were several other references to The Little Mermaid. At 5:20, the stagehand crawls suspiciously like Ursula after she transformed on the wedding boat. Also, the fish that Goofy catches with his foot looks like one of the fish from the “Under the Sea” scene.
2:00 So, I heard this at a con that had the character designer of phinneas and ferb (great guy btw). He said that the animators have to be real careful with their references and callouts even in the background because if Disney happens to produce a toy like that bambi, the feature could be slammed legally for making a commercial in the film, which causes a whole bunch of legal crap later, so it's likely that reference is intentionally left as wrong to avoid that. They get away with it on the Mickey phone because he's actually in the film. I found that whole extra layer of legal B.S. they have to dance around kinda interesting.
@4:04 I think that might be a reference to the 1988 Disney film Oliver and Company, the main baddy in that film was apart of the mob and he did drive a Half Lincoln Mark 3-5 Half Cadillac Eldorado
Goofy getting blown out of his shoes at the the end of the movie only to have them mysteriously back on when he crashed in Roxannes roof always bugged me as a child.
1:36 That scene could be copied from Grease tho when Danny stands there and sing to the Ghost Sandy in the air. Cuz they sing here and they sing there in grease, and danny stands there and so does max, so maybe they made a referense from that and then titanic copied Goofy/grease? ☺
