With the correct 8 function decoder installed, I have working ditch lights now. Being a green horn with DCC, this process was a little tough for me to understand at first. Bringing the laptop to the train table helped a bunch. Today I'll adjust the rate of the alternating lights. Thanks for this video, it has raised my confidence level with the NCE power cab.
We are glad the video helped. If you ever need more assistance than our videos supply you can also contact our full time Support Team: support@soundtraxx.com or (970)259-0690 ext. 22
George I reset CVS 2.257-512 and that fixed my DDE issue at first I was powering off my DCC system but I didn't this time and now my DDE works, user error..lol THANKYOU! THANKYOU! THANKYOU!
George.......That was a awesome segment on ditch lights...all videos have been awesome Keep up the great work George.. You have the best decoders on the market................Scott
George...that was a great explanation but I'll have to view it a couple more times to fully absorb everything that you said. I have one locomotive with an Econami decoder. Will the information in this video work with that decoder? Thanks...Harold
That's just fine. That is the great thing about the videos, you can refer to them as many times as you need. Yes this will work for Econami Decoders as well.
My new Athearns CSX GP39-2 with TSU-21PNEM decoder-- I cant get the ditch lights to work at all. F24 ( FX-3 Function Output) doesn't do anything. F23 works "all aboard" using the NCE Power Cab. This video would probably help once I get the lights to come on. Any suggestions? thanks
I have a CN GP-38 2 (w) with Tsunami 2 decoder, LEDs and it is relatively new. I would like the ditch lights to flash. Both ditch lights are controlled by the F5 key on my controller. How can I get them to flash when the horn is sounded. Please let me know what to do. Thank you. I use a Digitrax DT402D controller and which typed of programming mode should be used.
We hoped this video helped. With our new Blunami decoders and the free app you can adjust all Tsunami2 features with sliders and dropdown menus! If you need more assistance, please feel welcome to reach out to our Support Team: (970)259-0690 ext. 22 or support@soundtraxx.com
Contact our Support Team they can help you with your specific locomotive. Athearn often moves the lighting functions to different defaults than aftermarket decoders: support@soundtraxx.com or (970)259-0690 et. 22. Thank you.
You will follow the same process for the functions attached to your rear ditch lights. Contact our Support Team for more help with this: (970)259-0690 or support@soundtraxx.com.
It does vary by command station. George talks about different command stations in this webinar: ua-cam.com/video/-w5ttfthhNk/v-deo.html For more help you may need to refer to your command station manual or manufacturer. We cannot offer too much command station support as we do not manufacture or use all the different command stations out there. If you can't get the info you need from the command station manufacturer you can contact our Support Team for help and they will do what they can.
No, you just set it up using CVs. This process can be found in the Tsunami2 User's Guide in the manuals section of our website or you can contact our Support Department for more help: support@soundtraxx.com
Ok, real prototypical problem. When real ditch lights flash they don’t go all the way off, there full bright then go down to about half brilliant. TCS has that worked out nicely on there decoders.
doesn't work, have my tsunami wired exactly as stated and starting from fresh decoder reset, f24 still does not activate both front ditch lights, f24 activates one and f25 activates the other even after following this vid perfectly
This video uses an aftermarket Tsunami2 decoder. If you have an original Tsunami decoder or a factory installed decoder function defaults may differ. Please contact our Support Team for more assistance: (970)259-0690 ext. 22 or support@soundtraxx.com

What CVs will I have to change to have my ditch lights stop flashing? I have a Athearn Genesis SD75M with a Tsunami 2 decoder.

How do you access the dot? I see nothing on the MRC Throttle. Thanks

Nice video, George. However, that’s the wrong prototype. The ditch lights on the Santa Fe’s locos were not set to flash. They remained on
Thanks for the feedback, we have a limited amount of locos so not every example video we do is prototypically accurate.
So, you need to be a computer programmer to get flashing ditch lights? Surely you guys can come up with a more user-friendly method?
