- So this has really bugged me. Nowhere can I find this song (by itself and not a cover) anywhere online to listen to. My grandpa is in this film by the way and it's great he's connected to a song like this.
Hope someone puts up a better version at some point.
Lyrics
May The Best Man Win
May The Best Man Win
May The Best Man Win
Way out west a rich old man had two such different sons
Eli spoke with Bible raised and Billy spoke with guns
Daddy Bloodshy left a will and Eli said that’s fair
But Billy said no, lets fight it out so I can get your share
May The Best Man Win
May The Best Man Win
May The Best Man Win
The mayor said folks lets work it out by setting up a race
And everyone said poor preacher man, he’ll fall right on his face
Eli was a city boy and Billy knew the land
Please don’t go the schoolmarn begged but Eli took a stand
May The Best Man Win
May The Best Man Win
May The Best Man Wiiiiiiiiiiin
When they meet, it’ll be like hot lead and cold feet
When they meet, it’ll be like hot lead and cold feet
On that street, it’ll be like hot lead and cold feet
Hot Lead and Cold Feet
Hot Lead and Cold Feet
Hot Lead and Cold Feet
Hot Lead and Cold Feeeeeeeeet
May The Best Man Win
May The Best Man Win
May The Best Man Wiiiiiiiiiiiin
Daddy Bloodshy left a will and Eli said that’s fair
But Billy said no, lets fight it out so I can get your share
May The Best Man Win
May The Best Man Win
May The Best Man Wiiiiiiiiiiiiin
When they meet, it’ll be like hot lead and cold feet
When they meet, it’ll be like hot lead and cold feet
On that street, it’ll be like hot lead and cold feet
Hot Lead and Cold Feet
Hot Lead and Cold Feet
Hot Lead and Cold Feet
Hot Lead and Cold Feeeeeeeeet
Jim Dale deserves more credit for portraying 3 different roles in this film than he gets, and Eli and Billy are very well differentiated.
Keith Hamman I know right?! It’s because his main role was weak compared to his other 2 diverse roles. Still, a very underrated actor
He reminded me of the Lone Ranger pulling off different disguises. He was definitely an inspiration to people such as Mike Myers and Eddie Murphy
He did such a good job at playing his roles that until I checked the credits I thought there were 3 different actors!
This theme song gets stuck in my head every time I remember this movie exists
Disney+ needs to get on the job and put this on their service. Must have watched it a million times growing up.
THANK YOU they were able to get Apple dumpling gang on Disney+ and not this somehow?
So glad I have the DVD of this. This is one of best movies they have in their library. It's gut busting hilarious and there's no vulgar anything going on in it... AT ALL!!!
Exactly .... .it's a shame it's not on Disney +
My granddaddy loved westerns before he died in 2014. my dad got my brother and i a 4-movie Don knotts collection and this was in it. We watch it every summer now ❤️❤️❤️
We literally have the same thing 😁
This song is way too good
think I watched this movie a hundred times as a kid in the 80s.
One of my favorite movies
This came out in the summer of 1978.went to see it twice I was thirteen than.
Love this movie!! Use to watch it ad nauseam on HBO back in the day. (Along with The Private Eyes with Don Knotts and Tim Conway) I set up my tape recorder and recorded the audio from this movie so I could listen to it on days HBO didn't run it.
This movie just screams my childhood!! :)
Damn so that’s what people did before video tapes and DVR haha?!
Me, too....and No Deposit, N Return...as well as Apple Dumplin' Gang.
The musical score for Hot Lead and Cold Feet was composed and conducted by Buddy Baker, while Joseph Dubin performed the orchestration.
Michael Dees, the singer of this tune, later provided the singing voice for Ray Liotta (as Frank Sinatra) in the 1998 TV movie The Rat Pack.
This was my favorite movie when I was little and I used to watch it nearly every night before bed 😅
i saw this movie on The Disney Channel in 1998 when i was little
I SAW THIS MOVIE WAY BACK WHEN IT FIRST CAME OUT IN THE THEATERS: Then On An Old VHS Tape. I Also Now Have It In My Google Movies Files/You Tube Files.
I need to learn this in guitar
'Twasn't the greatest western comedy out there, but it was fun to watch, especially if Don Knotts is involved.
They have their fair share of western comedies.
Yeah, but let's be honest, nothing can beat "Support Your Local Sheriff" or the epic hilarity that is "Blazing Saddles".
Not saying they have to.
Noted.
I found it entertaining as a kid when I watched the Disney classics. Unfortunately, most of these were at a late or nearly absurd hour while the abomination that was Zoog Disney had mainstream run times / slots
my favorite western theme song yee haw!
I remember a long time ago when i was 5 years old my dad bought me a VHS of Disneys comedy and review which was a collection of disney movie shorts with a narrator explaining the story of every movie that was set in 60's and 50's and 70's disney movie's.And i saw a short of this movie and later i asked my dad if i could get it for chrismas and sure enough i gotta new vhs copy of it.I enjoyed every minute of it...except for the two kids which were a lil annoying.Don knotts did a damn good job as denver kid.
This song really is just too catchy to be rare!
Eli spoke with Bible raised and Eli spoke with guns. you kind of little mistake my friend.
OOPS! I fixed that now. I don't know how I missed that.
@@realar cool lol.
Wait, who is your grandpa? And who is singing this song?
My baby sitter's husband was cousins with James Garner.
I love this song needs to be in red dead
Was your Grandpa an extra in the film?
A character actually. He's in the credits.
Wow! Which character?
He was one of the Saloon Men.
@@realar This movie was filmed on my families property!!!
Who was your grandfather, and which part did he play?
Make this movie not such a comedy don’t get me wrong it’s great as a comedy but I feel like this needs a update
This makes a great entrance theme for a wrestler for WWE
