In my opinion, Bologna is the capital of Italian food. So many delicious food. I make my ragù with 50% beef and 50% pork. Thanks for all your wonderful recipes. My husband has baked a few since I’ve been following your channel, and they were all to die for. Thank you. Eric
I made this with fettucine, diced canned tomatoes, and heavy cream. It came out amazing. I couldn't believe a recipe without any strong spices in it would be so good. And it makes a ton of food too.
Yeah! He looks like such a sweet person. There's a Mexican lady who lives in the US and works with her husband. They're darlings too. Their channel is called Jauja Cocina Mexicana 😊
I made this yesterday. I didn’t have carrots and only had two cloves of garlic. Used half ground beef and half ground pork. It was delicious. Thank you! Will be making this again.
Onions, carrots and celery, the holy trinity of European sauces. Coincidentally, this video came up on my feed while i was eating a portion of bolognese i found in the freezer. 😂
Thank you for your version of Bolognese! Whenever I make my Italian sauces I leave the bay leave in. And during dinner I announce that whoever gets the bay leaf has to do the dishes! Ha ha! I rarely enforce it, especially if a guest is the victim. It just a silly thing I like to do. 😁❤❤
I like to use Coconut Cream instead of heavy cream. ( NO milk of half half,,too much sugar ) Your recipes are great. This is tomorrows dinner. A few days ago, i made the delicious NO BAKE strawberry pie. Easy and so good. My lucky neighbor gave it rave reviews too. Thank you for all you do.
So true. As someone with Italian ancestry, Italians just have this really weird superiority complex when it comes to food. If someone doesn’t cook EXACTLY the way they want them to, they throw a hissy fit. It’s almost as if cooking is an art that can be customized, and not everyone has to cook a dish in the traditional Italian way. Who would’ve thought?! 😱
Which is exactly why watching Bolognese videos and reading the comments is my favorite way of spending time. I do make mean Bolognese sauce myself as well.
This is so similar to how I make bolognese! Except I use TVP soaked in vegetable broth and a bit of marmite instead of the meat for a plant-based version and add a liberal amount of dried Italian herbs in the end, sometimes a bit of fresh basil if I have some. One of my favorite dishes!
Looks amazing! Can't wait to try it. Your videos are so very fun to watch. Your passion for cooking, food, and family really shines through. UPDATE: Made this tonight. IT WAS AMAZING! My wife and I both loved it.
Do you have a spaghetti and meatball recipe?? It’s my wife’s favorite and most the recipes I use to cook for her I got from you! Thank you for making cooking so much easier and much more enjoyable!!!!
Thank you! I've been looking at recipes for this so naturally the algorithms sent you to me. I make my pasta noodles from scratch, so this sauce will definitely help me show off!!
Sofritto is the veggies cooking in the pan at the beginning, and every time I smell it, I go back to my nonna cooking for me or my dad, and it brings so many happy memories!! Bolognese is easily my favorite sauce, top 1 forever 😂 Thank you for the video! I just found your channel and I'm subscribing! I love Italian cuisine
Your videos never disappoint! Thanks for all the easy to follow instructions, your channel has helped me become a much better and more motivated cook than I used to be :)
Am addicted to this Guy...please am looking for Sacher cake I can't find preppy kitchen. Please Do Sacher Torte for me.pleaase You explain beautifully.explain diff of satcher cake and chocolate cake cz they look the same
Silly me. When I saw this appear, I thought, "HOORAY! Bolognese that doesn't take all afternoon!" Oh well. Looks delish John. Thanks for a good choice for a rainy day.
I’ve watched you for years, not because I cook or bake (I don’t, I basically survive on trail mix and takeout) but bc the world has gone insane and you remind me that some people are safe. I hope that’s true and you never show up on some police report doing something unsavory. 😅🙂🥘😵🏴☠️
Carrot Celery Onions Minced garlic Add 2 tbsps olive oil in a pot , add all the veggies and the garlic and stir for few minutes Add in minced meat of choice and cook till the meat browns a bit. Add in some red wine or you can replace it with meat broth Add in fresh tomatoes and tomato paste and bay leaves , black pepper, salt Reduce heat , cover to simmer for 2 hours or till it thickens Boil your pasta in a separate pot in a pot of boiling salt water Stir in a cup of milk or heavy cream in the sauce Strain the pasta and mix with the sauce
Thank you for cooking a traditional bolognese. Garlic is optional and red wine is preferred. Milk is good, cream is forbidden . For the rest , everything is perfect.
Ottima ricetta di ragout, vicinissima a quella storica depositata! Mi permetto di consigliare di tritare maggiormente le verdure in modo che si disperdano meglio nel sugo. Carota e sedano non si devono vedere e sentire sotto i denti 👍

I agree. Beef + pork.

I love this guy. I don't need this recipe but he just has good energy 😊
We do indeed LOVE Mr. C
Same! I just love listening to him and the way he interacts with the camera is just so fun.
I do need this recipe. I love any kind of pasta.
Yeah! He looks like such a sweet person. There's a Mexican lady who lives in the US and works with her husband. They're darlings too. Their channel is called Jauja Cocina Mexicana 😊
I have tried so many of John's recipes and they all come out fantastic! He is my go-to for all recipes but I especially love his baking recipes.
I made this yesterday. I didn’t have carrots and only had two cloves of garlic. Used half ground beef and half ground pork. It was delicious. Thank you! Will be making this again.

Love your recipes but most of all I love your honesty in the kitchen.
Curious, what is he being honest about? I’ve never heard him lie.
In Indian cooking, we add the bay leaf right at the beginning, once the oil is hot.. This allows the flavor of bay leaf seep into the oil itself
The visceral reaction to the garlic press is exactly why I love your channel haha!! Probably one of my favorite cooking inventions.
We have a chill here today from the thunderstorms. I think this will be perfect. Thank you.
Garlic press is where it's at easy, and didn't even think to use one until you led the way to go ! Thank you, Preppy ❤

👍👍
Il latte viene aggiunto per neutralizzare l' eccesso di acidità dei pomodori. Latte, non panna
Everything I have ever made from his recipes are fantastic!
This looks seriously good. I like your dessert recipes but these are the kinds of practical videos I adore. Thank you for posting!
Heck yes
Maybe I should go to the store, I feel like I should make this
Every dish remotely connected to italian cuisine will always attract the people talking smack in the comments. It’s crazy

The Italians just can’t help themselves
Which is exactly why watching Bolognese videos and reading the comments is my favorite way of spending time. I do make mean Bolognese sauce myself as well.
Proper Italian food made in Italy by PROPER ITALIANS bears no relation to the crap you yanks serve up..Don’t blame the Italians for speaking up.
I made it today and it was absolutely incredible!!!!! Followed the instructions to the T and so so so good!
I’m gonna try this with 1 1/2 lbs of ground venison…i think it’ll turn out great. Awesome recipe!
This man's energy is lovely
Yay! A new video from John! ❤
I’m having a chicken potato soup I saw on your channel in the afternoon from 2 years ago. 🙏👌🏿 your the King 👑
Top tip, add a tsp of salt to your vegetables at the start. This will bring out some of their liquid and so intensify flavour.
I made this last weekend. Was so easy to make, easy to understand. Tasted delicious. Will definitely make again
Looks amazing! Can't wait to try it. Your videos are so very fun to watch. Your passion for cooking, food, and family really shines through.
UPDATE: Made this tonight. IT WAS AMAZING! My wife and I both loved it.
The absolute best, and most interesting, recipe for bolognese pasta I have ever seen. Going to try it this weekend. Thank you!
Great recipe! Just some advice: add salt throughout the process. For example add some salt to your mirepoix and after you added the tomatoes.
This sauce is the best one by far. It comes out so delicious, just like all of your other recipes John. I love to watch you cook.
Lovely. Grate half a nutmeg into the sauce.
This turned out bomb 👌 kiddos & adults approved
I'm so hungry now! The sauce looks so thick and rich, yum!
Mmmmmmm! This looks like the most appetising bolognaise I’ve ever seen! I will certainly give this a shot.
I love bolognese, perhaps this recipe will be better than the one I use! Thanks for the recipe

I love your recipes!! I always come to your channel for inspiration. Thank you. ❤
This one great guy and an amazing cook. Love to watch him
Will make this on Sunday! I would add red pepper flakes and anchovies.
Now we need a breadstick recipe.😍
Check his website, I’m pretty sure he has one on there. 🥰
He has one, I’ve made it, it’s great!
@@kimfurnell7902 Thank you
@@clshea24 Thank you.
There's no problem freezing the sauce with the pasta. Still tastes yummy when defrosted and re-heated.
This channel is addictive ❤❤

milk to lessen the acidity? brilliant! I need to make this!
Very delicious recipe❤❤❤❤Thanks for sharing
I knew i could trust this after the “bland “
comment. So many recipe creators bite into food as if it’s perfect or the best bite theyve ever had.
John ur the reason i became a cook :D
Looks delicious 😋
Never understood why more people dont use a garlic press. I use it every day. Its my most used tool.
His food is fabulous 👌
If we Italians had used, in conflicts, half of the bellicosity we show in comments about our cuisine, we would have won all the wars fought on Earth.
😂😂😂
The Bolognese will be amazing and it’s delicious ❤
Yum! Can’t wait to try this! 😋
Cant wait to try this, thank you!!🌟
Ground beef and ground pork work well together.
Silly me. When I saw this appear, I thought, "HOORAY! Bolognese that doesn't take all afternoon!" Oh well.
Looks delish John. Thanks for a good choice for a rainy day.
We freeze our celery, carrots, and onions chopped and bagged separately so we don't have as much prep
Thank you so much you did a lot! So funny, great recipe, yum yum!
Best pasta i think I ever made
It looks really perfect, it's great, I love it, I want to taste it. I am Turkish, but I am German or I live in you, I follow you, I like your food.
Great video John😊😊
I love your kitchen
Teacher I love this meal
Thanking the bay leaves 😂❤
hahaha! I love that you thank the bay leaf!
I always use red wine, and since I'm not really a drinker, I use the whole bottle.
I love your presentation. Just discovered you and subscribed. Bravo ❗️
I"m all here for the garlic press arc of the channel
I’ve watched you for years, not because I cook or bake (I don’t, I basically survive on trail mix and takeout) but bc the world has gone insane and you remind me that some people are safe. I hope that’s true and you never show up on some police report doing something unsavory. 😅🙂🥘😵🏴☠️
I love that thick pasta -- it's so perfect for this meaty sauce!
Carrot
Celery
Onions
Minced garlic
Add 2 tbsps olive oil in a pot , add all the veggies and the garlic and stir for few minutes
Add in minced meat of choice and cook till the meat browns a bit.
Add in some red wine or you can replace it with meat broth
Add in fresh tomatoes and tomato paste and bay leaves , black pepper, salt
Reduce heat , cover to simmer for 2 hours or till it thickens
Boil your pasta in a separate pot in a pot of boiling salt water
Stir in a cup of milk or heavy cream in the sauce
Strain the pasta and mix with the sauce
My Uncles was totally different. It was a wine based sauce. No tomatoes. It differed from village to village.
Amazing recipe thank you! 🙏🏻
Thank you for cooking a traditional bolognese. Garlic is optional and red wine is preferred. Milk is good, cream is forbidden . For the rest , everything is perfect.
I usually have lasagna noodles on hand. I cooked them off and cut them in strips. Usually I can get three strips per piece of lasagna
Wow awesome sauce 😝😝😝
Oh my gosh! Pasta is my style. Thick and wide.
I love your videos
I may give this a whirl if i don't have the proper amount of time, looked good
This was amazing!!
4:34 Correction: the more traditional wine to use for an Italian Bolognese is actually white, not red.
Thanks for the tips
You can use pasta water instead of adding salt. Pasta water will help the pasta to stick to sauce better as well.
