I removed the stock plastic bracket stay and used the keepers that came with the SS lines it just looks cleaner. A fork brace is a big help in stiffening the forks up i recommend it .
putting this on my "some day" shopping list. towards the top, but still "someday".
Great video. I have the old 84 KL600 and the brakes are appalling even after stainless line and full overhaul of the caliper and master cylinder. I would like to know if this set up would fit my bike.
The Eagle Mike Fork brace looks better made.
Yeah but the fork boots look collapsed with the fork brace on I used zip on seal savers.
Could you post a video on the steel brake line install?
similar to changing any brake line and bleeding the line.
Will the 2nd gen front brake caliper retro-fit to a Gen 1 machine? what about a 2nd shock to a 1st Gen frame???
I'm looking at either buying a new remaining 2018 KLR650 or a slightly older KLR that's been fairly sorted out/modded. Definitely can see the big need for the fork brace and brake upgrades. I'm also wondering if keeping the OEM brakes but swapping out to stainless steel brake lines front & rear would be a reasonable first intermediate step.
