Serious I still have nightmares about that hanging slider to the reds. How much history is different if that pitch is a quarter of an inch in a different spot.
He took it because he was sitting on the slider. Romo's bread and butter was his slider, and Cabrera was sitting on it. If you're sitting on an offspeed a fast ball, no matter how juicy that pitch may be, will be blown right by you.
I wonder if it was Bochy or Posey that called for the FB. Ballsy move against their best power hitter. If he would have swung he would have tied it up.
I remember this at bat like it was yesterday. Watching the game with my dad he said posey was hitting the shit out of that ball. And while I was mid sentence saying I don’t think so he’s been cooked all series, he hits that ball out. Chills to this day
when you lay it all out 2012 really is the sweetest n best title; down 0-2 n came back w a grandslam off a giants hater, 3-1 n came back n the last guy we got out was the same fuck that tried to take out the guy that was kicking their ass, went to the teams house that cake walked through the AL, struck out their triple crown winner w him watching a fastball down the middle and swept them. we’ll take that ring thank u very much
The Giants eliminated Jhonny Peralta twice. Once here. Once with the Cardinals in 2014 NLCS. Poor Omar Infante got eliminated 3 times by my Giants. Once with the Braves in 2010 NLDS. Once here in 2012 WS. And once with Royals in 2014 WS.
As dominant as it was to only give up 6 runs in a World Series, consider that 2 of those were on a home run that wouldn't have been until it bounced off Pagan's glove, and 2 were on a would-be flyout that got blown into the seats.
And in 2021, the San Francisco Giants headed into the All Star Break with the best record in MLB. GO GIANTS!!! {I really miss Scutaro- that man wasn't afraid of a first pitch strike, because he nearly always hit the next pitch and hit it well.}
The Tigers scored 36 total runs in the ALDS and ALCS that year. They scored 6 total runs in the World Series. FYI 2 of those runs were scored in the meaningless top of the 9th inning during an 8-1 blowout in game 1.
Crazy to think that if the Tigers had been cheating like the Astros were the last few seasons, a guy like Miggy probably would've tied the game on that fastball...thank God they weren't! Go Giants!
Legend has it Miguel Cabrera is still looking for that slider
Hahahaha
He will be looking for a while
In real life, I'll bet that's going to haunt him for the rest of his life...!! Go Giants..!!
What a great pitch to freeze Cabrera!
It's been over 10 years now, I hope Miguel finally found that slider that he's looking for.
That theriot slide I always remember because of that scream lmao
without his base knock this game could have gone much differently tbh
i remember the scream cuz if the slide
That was the last play of Theriot's MLB career. Scoring the winning run of the World Series is a heck of a way to go out.
@@Wolfeson28 >>> His second series win in a row, if memory serves. Wasn't he on the cardinals in '11?
Same 😂
That whole season Romo was setting Cabrera up for that fastball down the middle.
That hanger to close out reds and a fastball right down the middle to finish off tigers lol. Miss Romo
How about that nasty slider to Jackson? The ball ended up at least a foot outside just above the dirt.
Serious I still have nightmares about that hanging slider to the reds. How much history is different if that pitch is a quarter of an inch in a different spot.
It still shocks me to see Miguel Cabrera take that pitch instead of swinging.
He took it because he was sitting on the slider. Romo's bread and butter was his slider, and Cabrera was sitting on it. If you're sitting on an offspeed a fast ball, no matter how juicy that pitch may be, will be blown right by you.

@@dartiga52 It's all Romo. He called off the last two pitches Posey originally gave.
@@dartiga52 he wasn't gonna swing no matter what, he was looking slider 100%
@@dartiga52 check out sequence w/ trevor plouffe. He and romo talk about that at-bat
The backdoor sinker to Miggy to end the game is pure art to this day
Marco Scutaro was on fire this WS run.
posey was getting owned his last 7 or so at bats, when the time came to be clutch he stepped up, ill never forget the hype of when he hit that homer
Bruh it was wild 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 good times

8:40 It's 2021, and Brandon Crawford is STILL playing the heck out of shortstop
Definitely!!
It’s 2023 now…
You are such a g for showing Cabrera's entire last at bat
We felt bad for the Tigers so we let them have a lead for a bit 😉 Just to let them feel like they had hope
😂😂😂
not only are these videos great, your thumbnail choices are 💯

Thank you for making these.
Great series again the 2010 was amazing and 2012 as well!!! Can't wait for 2014 that's gonna be as good as 2010 and 2012!!! Keep it up

Not to mention Infante having his hand broken at the end of the game.
Those were the days where, if you were tied or behind late in the game, you had to face Affeldt, Casilla, Lopez, and Romo... good luck.
crazy the drop off to the giants team today like they are so ASS ill take romo over tyler rogers all day any day
Dodgers won the WS not just because they had the bats, but they had the arms at the end even if they didn’t totally need them.

I just remember that the giants worst enemy this game was the wind 😂
Edit: Crawford’s glove this game was nasty
I will always love Matt Cain for the perfect game that year and getting in Harold Renoylds face saying ARE YOU GONNA PICK US NOW
Ahhhhh you did it again!!!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Miss Crawford's defense like this

Almost a decade late and miggy is still looking for the slider
That bullpen was so nasty and deep.

Who’s here in 2021 for a scouting report on Scherzer? Lol!
me!! 🙋♀️🙋♀️🙋♀️
Buster this season!
Fielder was terrible this whole series
Fuckin useless the whole postseason that year.
Uncle Marco was a vacuum at second,yo!
that 234 didnt do shit for DET
If Jackson didn’t stop running on Marco hit Jackson could make a diving catch but he messed up. He stop half way
Another World Series, another string of lifeless Joe Buck calls.
great video
How many goddamned ads do you need to have? Jeezus.
That’s on mlb
