I'm a Laker fan, but when Lue got bumped up to coach, I was really hoping LeBron would lose, and someone would trip Lue and Iverson would come outta the crowd and step over him again. Would have been hilarious.

11:26 - 18 years later, the Raptors' superstar would have another chance to bury a Game 7 buzzer-beater to win a semi-final series against the Sixers. To move on to face the Bucks in the ECF, with a superstar dynasty likely waiting in the NBA finals.
And while Vince Carter's shot bounced out, Kawhi Leonard's bounced once, twice, three, four, five times then went in.
Weird how history works. Fine margins.

I don't follow basketball much, but the older I get and the more I listen to basketball fans talk about the recent past, the more I am coming to appreciate this man's ability to play. I mean, the 76ers are in the NBA Finals and, if memory serves, got all the way to Game 6, despite ALL the injuries and lackluster performances they had.
That, in of itself, shows you just how dominant Iverson was.
EDIT- I just saw that the 76ers lost in five games, not six. Sorry about that. Still, he's an impressive player.

It also answered the question "Why didn't Allen Iverson win a ring in 2001?" Many people have said that AI simply didn't have enough help, which is only partially true. The real story is that the team was quite injured... including AI; however, the 76ers were phenomenal, despite the injuries and other things they had to overcome.

Its obviously way too new now, but that Virginia buzzer beater to send the game to OT and the eventual win over Purdue will deserve a rewind in a few years if this series still exists. A game between possibly two of the best current coaches to never make a final four, a revenge story for Virginia after losing to a 16 seed the previous year, and Bennett becoming one of the only father son pairs to make a final four. That's not to mention Carsen Edwards insane tournament and 40+ points hung on a top 3 defense and the shooting slump broken by Virginia's best trey shooter in the second half. Plus there's the incredible 4 steps that had to go right, the right bounce on the miss, the perfect tip, the pass that nobody saw coming, and it was from a freshman!! and of course the shot itself. Those last two parts might deserve 3-4 minutes of a video themselves. This was hands down the best game of the 2018-2019 tournament (so far), between the backstory, Carsen Edwards, and one of the best buzzer beaters in recent memory.
