  • Tony Leon is a South African icon in post-apartheid politics. He's the longest serving leader of the opposition in Parliament, and he led the Democratic Alliance for 13 years. Having exited leadership in 2007 and later the public political space in 2009, Tony lived through a political movement that did not involve the loud voices of social media and the intense racial criticism the DA experiences now. Gareth and Tony take a look into the possible futures of South Africa, with the different links of coalitions - as well as some analysis of South Africa’s state of deterioration over the years.

Having recently watched the ARTE tv Documentary about Mayor Chris Pappas ( fluent in isiZulu) of uMngeni Municipality on UA-cam as well as Mac G's Podcast with John Steenhuisen ( also on UA-cam), the DA is by far the best and most experienced choice to take SA forward in 2024!!

Thank you both. The influence guys like you will have on a 2023 voting population is hard to calculate, but one hopes it will be very different to the effect mainstream media had in the last election. Never thought I would be excited by channels like this, but am pleased to say I am. 🌹🌹

Surely we could finance the building of a private, functioning harbour somewhere on private property? Surely there must be a vaguely suitable piece of coast somewhere.

Good interview. The ANC has corruption problems but the DA is not the entire solution. I wish the DA could Stop talking about the ANC (we know) and tell us how u will fix the problem 🇿🇦 and beyond the Government (public sector) the private sector also needs to be regulated. The Rand has been manipulated by private banks. What is the ANC or the DA doing about these corrupt private companies...

By now we are well aware of what has and is still happening in SA. The frustration, is that everything being said here, is repetitive rhetoric. No one seems to be offering a ray of hope in terms of how we turn this country around. Are their any rays of hope to be had? Then, on Tony's comment about the EFF declaring war on those that don't look like them, I say the EFF underestimates the spirit and the capability for the fight within the community that "don't look like them"!

Psalm 83 v1-18 God, do not keep quiet. Do not be quiet, O God, and do not hold Your peace. 2 For, look, those who hate You are making much noise. Those who fight against You have honored themselves. 3 They make bad plans against Your people. They plan against those You care for. 4 They say, “Come, let us destroy them as a nation. Let the name of Israel be remembered no longer.” 5 For they plan together with one mind. They make an agreement against You
Zechariah 12:2-3 “Behold, I am about to make Jerusalem a cup of staggering to all the surrounding peoples. The siege of Jerusalem will also be against Judah. On that day I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples. All who lift it will surely hurt themselves. And all the nations of the earth will gather against it
