I made your Irish soap into a liquid and I love how it came out! It was creamy just the way I like it. I shower at the gym after my aqua fitness class and my soap bars turned into mush. Now I put my liquid soap into a small plastic bottle and everything is neat and tidy no more mushy soap. Thank you for Sharing!
If you only have a small amount of soap you'll have to play with the amount of water. Try 1/2 a cup to one cup of water. Add more if needed 😊 hope that helps. I've never used scraps of soap for the recipe. But it should still work.
If u wanted to try foam soap just add more water to the foam soap container works great .... This is an amazing recipe !!!! Thank You So Much For Sharing & Hava Wonderful Day !!!!
I am in central Florida and haven't been able to find/or buy liquid handsoap for months... 😕 Our handsoap is running out TODAY! I needed a solution fast! I searched youtube & found many videos, but YOURS was easy to do. Plus you showed the end result - not just of this batch, but of your previous batch of soap you made! Thanks for that! 👍 Thank you for your video Mercedes! I appreciate you showing step by step AND giving the complete recipe in the description. I just made a batch of your soap and can't wait to see how it turns out! While the soap flakes were boiling, it freshened my whole house with a lovely clean scent, an added bonus to making this! Your video's been liked, and I've subscribed! 😊 Thanks again!
@@thefrugallife-withmercedes7718 The soap worked out great! Everyone likes it BETTER than the liquid handsoap I normly buy for $4 a bottle. Your recipe cost me less than $1 to make, and I got 3 huge refill size containers of soap out of 1 soap bar! [An $11 savings]! I like my soap a little more liquid & less gelled, so I added 10 cups of water to the boiled soap mixture, and it still came out nice & thick! Really great recipe & video! Thanks again!
Thanks for the recipe. Somewhere I saw one where they used a electric beater and think that is what I did last time. Couldn’t find the recipe so I am sure it is much like yours. Love my own hand soap and refuse to buy liquid soap. I too am not going out and have stocked up on hand soap. Looking forward to seeing your laundry soap. Thank you for sharing. We are in more of a lockdown this weekend as cases rising. Keep safe. Blessings from friendly Manitoba.🇨🇦🤗🤗🤗
You’ve been blessing us with so much content thank you so much - oh and I followed your apple sauce video and my apple sauce came out great!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Awe well thank you for watching and following! I'd have no reason to put out videos if you didn't watch them. 😁 I'm glad to hear it! People are sometimes intimidated by making things at home. But it can be easy, quick and cheap.
Not to this recipe. I've always made it just as shown in the video and haven't had any problems. (Like with mold) I believe you have to add preservatives if you aren't using mass produced soap.
Just fyi - soap does not have to lather to get you clean. Soap manufacturers have added lathering agents to make us THINK their soaps are getting us cleaner than other soaps - that either have low lather or no lather! I'm in my 50's and remember the days before we had liquid soaps, or high lathering soaps. You knew you were clean when the water in your bathtub was dirty! 😁 Hope this makes you smile! We're in this together frugal folks!
I can relate to that only difference my mom would buy bubble bath pour it in the tub for bubbles and we used the bubble bath h for soap. We didn't use ba soap.
If you all want lather water it down and put it in a foam dispenser. Saves you even more money. You can get a foam one at dollar tree. I like foam soap better. I have some bars and want to try this.
Sorry I just saw this. I would personally use them separately. Hand soap is to get dirt off and the alcohol is to disinfect. (Although I am not a medical professional) I mostly use this soap to get dirt, grim off my hands and as a body wash.
Hi I like your homemade liquid hand soap ‘ but here’s my question for you I can I do it with dove bar soap instead of Irish spring hope to hear from you thank you for sharing your idea I’m from Philippines 🇵🇭 just wonna do my own hand liquid soap
Yes you can make this hand soap with any bar soap! I've used dove before. I have also used hotel soap. I used Irsh spring because I was given about 50 bars of it. Thanks so much for watching 🙂
I've been making this soap for a couple years in large batches. I've never used a preservative and the soap has never gone bad. I've never found mold or anything growing. It's possible you need to use a preservative if you are planning on storing it for years on end. That is a good question!
@@thefrugallife-withmercedes7718 well when I seen people adding preservatives I was sort of baffled, I figured pre bought bar soaps have some sort of preservatives already. So I figured I would ask someone who has been doing this awhile.
Wow thank you❤ According to situations these days. This is valuable😊 5 stars for your video!

Of course! 🙂
I have a crumbling bar of castile soap for delicate clothes, maybe I could finally use it with this method!
Great idea!
Could I use this as dish soap? Or would it be too strong and leave a soapy smell on the dishes. Thanks 🙏
I've never used this soap on dishes. You could always try it out. 😊 I'd be curious to know how well it cleans dishes.
@@thefrugallife-withmercedes7718 if I make it, I’ll let you know how well it works. Thanks Mercedes 😘
I love soap i have 200 bars.. I collect it.. Different colours and from different places..
Very cool! 😁
This is great! I just bought a 30lb block of soap to make my homemade soap. I’m going to film it this time. Lol
I can't wait to watch that video Erica. 😊
Does a preservative needed to be added?

Please if it does not leather what should I do?
You may have add too much water. My batch lathers up. But it may be the type of soap you used.
I used Dr. Bronner's and it did'nt lather.... sight =)

Due to corona , what would you add for disinfectant ? Alcohol?

Could adding vegan glycerine keep the consistency smooth like it does with iceing?
I'm not sure, I've never tried that before. It would definitely be worth a try.
Distilled water would be best to use here 💗

Does the soap go bad? I've watched multiple videos about turning a bar soap into liquid but most said to use a preservative or the soap can go rancid?
