What has helped me most with reducing facial puffiness: sleep; hydrate; exercise (but nothing too rigorous so my cortisol stays level); stopped drinking coffee; manage stress (ie: breathe).
Keltie you saved my life 😭 my jaw/facial tension has gotten horrible and I can’t afford the PT. I have started doing gusha morning and night on my jaw/neck. It’s only been three days and I feel SO MUCH BETTER. I seriously cannot thank you enough. Your videos always have the best timing. People have comfort tv shows but you’re my comfort YT channel lol
If it continues... Look up jaw massage, TMJ massage, TMJ physical therapy exercises on youtube, of course proceed with caution and pay attention to what works for you in the process if you aren't working with a pro. I hope you can get PT covered at some point but until then there are some things you can try to do on your own. For me learning how to massage with my hand in my mouth pinching my cheek/masseter and getting up in my gums was really helpful, I prefer having a PT do it though because it is VERY uncomfortable at first, if you find any videos with that just go slow and feel it out but it's ok if it doesn't feel great at first, as long as you feel looser after. I also recommend learning how to roll your upper trapezius with a lacrosse ball/myo ball if any of your tension comes from there, and for hot spots in the neck the theracane can help (but a little more pricey). And yes, gua sha helps a lot!!! Hopefully that will be all you need for now perhaps! Just wanted to share that there are resources out there if you need to try things. Good luck
I was like it can't just be me....I saw a difference after her first couple of treatments. She looks more refreshed and glowy and youthful....and her makeup looks better on her face. She looks happier, lol.
Gua sha stones were really trendy in the beauty space a few years ago. I recently had gua sha as part of an acupuncture session for TMJ and tension headaches, and that was kind of a discovery moment for me, too, with regard to muscle tension around the head, face, and neck. Thank you for trying this out, and for reporting back with more than just the aesthetic results.
I suffer from TMJ and migraines/tension headaches. Self-massages, along with stretching, hydration and seeing a professional massage therapist at least once a month is my go to. Can't survive without it!! Foam rolling works great too along with cupping and GuaSha!!
your face already has a snatched look but you do look a bit more lifted to me in the after! the beauty mark on your left cheek even looks like its higher up on your cheek and the laugh lines look softer. I've just started trying to incorporate daily facial massage because the neck and jaw tension is just terrible 😩
Couldn’t have watched this at a better time! I typically watch all Keltie videos pretty promptly but missed this originally. I’ve been having a nonstop tension headache for the past week and this video was precisely what I needed to hear!
The reason Gua Shua can actually lift and contour your face is due to sluggish lymphatic drainage, as you pointed out--jaw/muscle tension and boost of circulation--which over many months coupled with eating collagen and hyaluronic acid WILL actually improve your skin quality overall and aid in giving you a more youthful appearance. Neck and jaw tension can actually drag your cheeks down. You simply do not have a lot of facial fat so you didn't notice any difference. There was a slight difference in the marionette area, which is where the jaw-neck muscles being tense can drag your cheeks down. I however have chipmunk cheeks and literally feel my facial fat pads in a higher place vs a lower when i stop doing gua shua for a week. I also carry a lot of fluid in my face apart from tension. So it's not something that will overtly change everyone's face but for me I do get asked if I got a face lift because of how much tension I carry in my face.
If you see real acupunturists and formed TCM they all say that gua sha really lift your face but is NOT a lymphatic drainage!!! And the reason i think Traditional Chinese Medicine explains...
I think the biggest thing is that if you tend to have a lot of puffiness, water retention, build up in your lymph nodes, then GuaSha can help, but if you are on the leaner side being well into your health journey then you may not see hardly any results. One thing I will say, my mom always massages her moisturizer into her face smoothing her skin kind of in the same way and she has way better skin in her later years than any of her friends who never bothered much with their skincare. Mind you my mom is a wash, tone, moisturize and done lady. She has some lines but how she treated her skin with massaging I feel went far compared to the other women in her family.
To be fair my mom looks younger than many of her peers, but my family has good youthful looking genes. With the power of good genes merely washing her face everyday looked good. My grandma looks younger than her age too and again just washing her face with a normal bar of soap worked because of good genes.
At around 13 mins…we see you hair up close, clean and sleek and shiny! …What an improvement Gurl! I know back in the day you had hair issues and problems and your hair looks revolutionized! I remember you saying the dry shampoo was a culprit…I stopped my own addiction to dry shampoo and my hair is dramatically better now years later! Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou! I try and watch you at least once a month, binge watch what I missed lol cause I’m not living the internet lifestyle but I like catching up with you!
I can see the difference, it is small but your face definitely looks brighter and lifted ever so slightly in the after. Not to mention your skin looks more luscious and healthy, which just adds to the brighter and livelier look in the after. That’s so cool to see! Will definitely do some Gua sha in my daily routine now.
I did it as soon as I knew I was pregnant because I was afraid of a puffy face 😂 morning and night and it changed my face shape and my lips got fuller from doing it! I’m back at it now but am a total believer ❤
I can see a massive difference. Less puffiness, more definition, eyes brighter and again less puffiness. Nasilabial fold gone and your neck is more defined! Wow!!
I only use a gua sha as an extra self-care tool! I don’t necessarily believe it does much except maybe mild relaxation of the facial muscles, it just feels good and brings more awareness into my skincare routine. Love the video!
I have this tool, but don't use it. I've just started following someone named Aysel on UA-cam. Turns out, all we need is our fingers and applying some pressure on some points/bones to see results. I highly recommend trying her techniques.
The crazy part about it. is that this actually does work a ton. i've been using it for about a month and a couple of days now. it's made noticeable changes to my face. some of the changes are: making my under eyes depuffed, it's lifted my cheek area. my jawline is more defined in a feminine soft way. to the point a man had to tell me in the store "you are a very beautiful woman." but i noticed it was after the fact i had been consistently using gua sha. i also use the full body gua sha on my shoulders and it's reduced fat on the back of my arms, neck and i also use it on my chest area to keep my chest perky. if you're consistent it works wonders because it's equivalent to exercising.
This is not the equivalent to exercising. I will accept the fact that it is beneficial but rubbing this on your body is not causing you to lose fat unless you're burning a lot more calories doing this lol. It could be able to tighten the skin by relaxing the muscles but it is not "reducing fat" Other lifestyle changes or the extra movement could be the reason for that.
@@gilligen6834 You might be right but i typed what i experienced. i didn't tell anyone. "try it" i'm just commenting what i've saw and what it's done for me in general.
if it works for you, that doesn't mean it works for everyone. it didn't work for her because she doesn't have much face fat or fluids, she was consistent with it aswell
This looks super relaxing, when I'm stressed I clench my teeth in my sleep and my shoulders hunch up to my ears, so I wake up tense and sore, this looks like it could really help when I'm wake this way. Thanks for the share 💜
Leave it to Keltie, I have been wondering WTF this "rubbing flat stone on face" thing was for a few weeks now and then this video comes out. I'd subscribe again if I could.
Love this type of videos where you try all their stuff for us. One that I been looking 👀 at lately is all those exercises to reduce the hump that lots of us have in our back neck. You don’t have one, but lots of us do and it’s visible very annoying
I love you so much for your honesty with this - PS if you put your tongue on the roof of your mouth it also suck in your jaw/cheeks recommended by all KPop Idols and you know they care (they also do ultra low cal diets prior to performance/photo shoots - not recommended)
Love watching you! Just sending you good vibes! I have a degree in physio and always love your honest and science approach. Just a suggestion: do a video on neck exercises for 30days ;)
Love your videos! Just got my first facial yesterday and wanted to find UA-cam reviews on post facials and your video popped up. I recognized your face so I decided to watch. I saw one of your running/yoga videos in the past (last year or so) and your 30 days of CrossFit. I’ve watched your vids here and there, but it’s time to follow you. You keep it real. You’re funny and pretty. Thanks for sharing your content!
I don't know if gua sha has helped with puffiness/fwce shape but it has absolutely helped with my sinuses especially during allergy season and getting all the crushed loosened so it'll come out. It also just feels super nice and relaxing after a long day.
I haven’t seen any change in my face, but I live in the allergy hub of Texas, and this time of year is hellish, to say the least. On days my allergies are bad and my face is congested and puffy, I’ve started doing gua sha, and it has helped alleviate some of the sinus pressure. Placebo or not, I’ll take what I can get 😅
YES. I had terrible sinus pressure headaches after a cold and facial sinus massages and neti pot helped with all the headaches, painful pressure, and leaky nose.
I do face massage every night. At first I did it to help my face look better. It did work for me. No I do it as it helps me to wind down for bed time and keep my skin looking as youthful as possible. The technique is helping drain the stuff into the lymphatic system. I use a Japanese massage technique.
@Charmaine It is this video. This video has made me look more youthful and has severely reduced puffiness when I have too much salt. youtu.beV4ANcs7oh9s
Gonna give it a go! With stressful times at work I hold tension in my jaw and that leads to pain in my jaw face and then a mega headache- thanks for the heads up xx
1:09 I've been using an old credit card to do that for some years now. It helps loosen the muscles in my face and neck. I didn't know there was a name for it until now. Thanks VISA. 😄💳
It makes such a huge huge difference for me, but I'm also someone who carries a lot of fluid in general, and I hold a lot of tension in my face (and neck and scalp).
I have had a gua sha tool for several years but rarely use it since I can get a similar effect with just my hands, all it is is lymph drainage and some muscle tension release, and yes if you use the cold tool, it helps with puffiness of course (I prefer my quartz roller for that). I think it does feel great and can work wonders for many people, but it is very extra, your hands or a cold spoon work pretty well too ;)
I saw in your before & after’s that your posture was better as well as a slight reduction in “puffiness” (Even tho you don’t have much) & a look of well-being…. Those are changes for the better even if most folks didn’t catch it. It’s weird, cause typically ppl don’t pay that much attention when caught on the fly, such as, “Do you notice anything different about me”? …they’re minds go all kinda sideways looking for something huge & rarely ever towards where we’re wanting them to go, which might be more detailed. I’m an artist & a massage therapist by trade, so I looked at the details & I CAN indeed see them!
Just when I was considering buying guasha equipment ! The fact that you are sceptic to begin with makes the video even more interesting. It juste looks so relaxing. And my jaw is so not snatch since childbirth, homemade face massage sounds great. Let's drain all the lymph away! (And fat, but that is for later).
I see a lift in your left eyebrow and (in the forward facing head shots) your under eye looks slightly less puffed, the lines just either side of your mouth reduced and your lips even look a little lifted. Minor differences as you say, may be lighting/angles. The eyebrow definitely looks lifted in the side show too, the effect being you look less sleepy/ more alert / open faced. The brow lift is my favourite part of Gua Sha. Amazing what else you learnt that you didn't expect. I truly think you would benefit from a split screen & keyboard set up (PC not laptop) where the screen is at head height and keyboard on a lower level. That way you could maintain good posture. Affect all, when we eat, we don't put our mouths over the bowl - we bring the food to our mouths. Bring the screen to your face 🤓
p.s. your jawline was already snatched so you wouldn't see a difference anyway 👌 I've done one single face yoga move for double chins and have held them at bay for 20 years.
I like using an ice roller for my sinuses and anxiety ...and it helps with temporary puffiness. It also just feels good. I used to use sheet masks, but 1) i'm broke, 2) there's ton of waste that goes into it. Plus i can use the ice roller as much as i want.
Nasal breathing has evidence to change face shape and improve sleep apnea. Maybe that would be a video idea? I can personally attest to it helping sleep apnea for myself and technically if your not engaging in sleep apnea your face will become tighter.
Honestly it’s worked wonders for me but I’ve always carried a lot of puffiness in my face/eyes! Like my jaw does not look snatched like that no matter how high I lift my chin 😅😭 I think you might not have seen huge visible results because you don’t seem to hold very much inflammation in your face (which is a good thing, you’re lucky!)
It might just be the pictures and the lighting, but the before and afters at 14:49 do look slightly different. The entire face shape and structure didn't change but I do notice a difference.
Very informative video! I saw something that it can help with cellulite so I have been using a body guasha on my thighs and boy do I have a lot of bruising! I'm on day 3 so I'm not sure if its going to work but we shall see!
You look less puffy in your after video. Draining those lymph nodes do help I guess 😂. I also carry a lot of tension in my jaw, so don't mind me while I purchase my own gua shua and give this a try 😅
I am having so much sinus headaches, eye puffiness and jaw tension. I also tend to have enlarged lymphnodes due to some medical stuff and massaging like this actually makes a huge difference. Do I need a little rock to do it, No. I use my hands and it works great but yeah the premise is fantastic not the claims of buccal fat removal lol
I think the reason you didn't see much result is because you don't really have anything yet to reverse at your age. I just purchased a Gua sha 2 weeks ago and I really notice my eye bags look flatter, I am confident and don't feel like they are the first thing people notice when talking to me...I'm 59. I have been using it both a.m and p.m. when I have time and on my face and neck. Still use my Omnilux red light mask too...which also gives great results.🌺
As Chinese the guasha obsession was at its peak about 10 yrs ago. Atm I was OBSESSED with doing guasha on my calves (cuz I'm blessed with strong thick legs and impressionable me didn't know better). Did it feel good? Kind of. Did my calves become slimmer? Nope 🤣
Check yourself several times a day if you clench your teeth while your mouth is closed. If you do, unclench them, your jaw should hang loose even with your mouth closed. It helped me give my face muscles a bit of a break.
Oh man! That inside the mouth massage was what they did for me in Physio for TMJ (TMD). It was SO painful. But, I went from only being able to open my mouth about an inch, to several inches 👍🏻
so happy you are bringing gua sha to the people but for the love of Gott, hold the gua sha at a 45 degree angle againstyour face and don't push, rather pull !!!
Oh my word I do that too! I would have an ache or pain somewhere.. and my conclusion was that I have cancer. Or when I have brain fog I’m like,.. “I’m going blind.” 😂😂😂
I think a good alternate title for this video is “how many different ways will Keltie pronounce gua sha.” 😂 Seriously though I haven’t seen one of your videos pop up on my feed in MONTHS and last night I randomly thought of you and was like “I need to see if I’m still subscribed to Keltie!” I am, but I guess I just haven’t been getting the notifications? Anyway, I’m here now, and catching up. I’ve missed you. ☀️
I’ve never related so hard to the posture bit Keltie 😂 fellow girl that looks like a cooked shrimp in her chair by the end of the day. This may be a small investment I need to make to help neck tension. I loved this take on it ❤
This looks a lot like lymphatic drainage massage. I did this with my hands after watching some videos about it when I was seriously congested from a cold. Didn’t know I was also potentially contouring my face lol. 😅
I think the reason you can’t detect any noticable improvement in your face is because you are too young to have developed aging conditions such as sagging jowls, marionette lines, and smile lines. You can’t correct problems that have not yet developed. I don’t think I noticed these changes develope until I was in my 60s. I have been using a combination of bare hand facial yoga methods for about 3 weeks now and I am beginning to notice a decrease in sagging jowls and a firming of the double chin. When you have aged enough to develop these conditions, try these methods again and you may be surprised to see that they do help.
You looked great even before obviously but I can see a clear difference in the before and after photos! Which method were you using exactly and how many minutes every day?
Hello ! Your series have been so inspiring! I have been purchasing products from your recommendations and I truly see a difference! Unfortunately LMNT electrolytes don’t ship to Australia anymore:( what would you recommend as an alternative?
What has helped me most with reducing facial puffiness: sleep; hydrate; exercise (but nothing too rigorous so my cortisol stays level); stopped drinking coffee; manage stress (ie: breathe).

I love how you have self realization during your challenges. Always keeping it real & I love that ♥️
I can definitely see the difference! There’s less swelling . As an esthetician I would say to keep doing this and make those facials a routine
Same I def see a difference in the puffiness or something about the under eye to nose area

Woohoo!!! Means the most to me when you do ☺️🩵 Have a great Saturday Jantina!
Love the new vids hunny❤ keep em coming:)
SO happy you enjoyed :)
Your face actually looks more toned, I like it. It might be considered as exercise for face, which is great
I see a lift in your left eyebrow and (in the forward facing head shots) your under eye looks slightly less puffed, the lines just either side of your mouth reduced and your lips even look a little lifted.
You're a great creator!
love your honesty in this vid!!!!
This is relatable 😂
The amount of times I've thought I was going to die because thought I had a brain tumor or a breast lump are embarrassing 😅
Getting a full size keyboard and monitor really helps with posture and not having tension headaches.
Acupuncture for headaches!!!! Huge help for my tension
Gua sha helps with my sinuses issues every winter ❤
It works for me but your Face is already lean and snatched. If you were puffy you’d see a difference. Glad it helped with your headaches.
Nasal breathing has evidence to change face shape and improve sleep apnea. Maybe that would be a video idea? I can personally attest to it helping sleep apnea for myself and technically if your not engaging in sleep apnea your face will become tighter.
I suggest changing your desk chair or getting some back support for your current chair it totally helps. Also work on engaging your core 😊
Hi !! I’m a dental hygienist and it’s spelled buccal but pronounced buckle 😊. Anything toward the cheek side. Love your channel ❤
Great video! Love the honest review! ❤
Honestly it’s worked wonders for me but I’ve always carried a lot of puffiness in my face/eyes! Like my jaw does not look snatched like that no matter how high I lift my chin 😅😭 I think you might not have seen huge visible results because you don’t seem to hold very much inflammation in your face (which is a good thing, you’re lucky!)
woah -- i stopped using it and nowwww i better use it again
It might just be the pictures and the lighting, but the before and afters at 14:49 do look slightly different. The entire face shape and structure didn't change but I do notice a difference.
I think your face was already lean, and maybe that’s why you didn’t notice much of a change, but your skin looks amazing and glowing.
Very informative video! I saw something that it can help with cellulite so I have been using a body guasha on my thighs and boy do I have a lot of bruising! I'm on day 3 so I'm not sure if its going to work but we shall see!
literally you always look super pretty, I loved the video, 😮love you
You look less puffy in your after video. Draining those lymph nodes do help I guess 😂. I also carry a lot of tension in my jaw, so don't mind me while I purchase my own gua shua and give this a try 😅
You’re hilarious and down to earth 👍
Thank you for doing this! I kept feeling like I should try this but seems like a waste of time.
I think your skin looks more plump, like the circulation is much better and it does look more tone to me.
Happy Earth Day and it’s my 29th birthday in 5 days, Keltie!🎉🎉❤❤🌍🌍
Happy Earth Day Ervin!!
You too, Keltie!
Where in Vancouver did you get that facial/massage? That looks amazing!!!
If you pause the video- the before and after look totally different! I would even believe it’s not the same person. Both are gorgeous btw. ❤
Nope 🤣
Keltieeee as someone who also works on a computer all day... GET A MONITOR ( on a adjustable mounted desk arm!) it will literally save you
the angles/posture thing is sooo true
Check yourself several times a day if you clench your teeth while your mouth is closed. If you do, unclench them, your jaw should hang loose even with your mouth closed. It helped me give my face muscles a bit of a break.
What a difference. Your jaw is more define. Yes, yes, yes. What a difference.
Oh man! That inside the mouth massage was what they did for me in Physio for TMJ (TMD). It was SO painful. But, I went from only being able to open my mouth about an inch, to several inches 👍🏻
Botox is amazing in TMJ area! Scrapping is also great for cramps. I’m constantly massaging my face!!
Good quality, 4k monitors go on sale frequently. I got a samsung 4k something for $250 on sale at best buy in the summer.
As a massage therapist, I'm so glad that you didn't go up the neck like so many tiktok videos do...that's so bad 😅
so happy you are bringing gua sha to the people but for the love of Gott, hold the gua sha at a 45 degree angle againstyour face and don't push, rather pull !!!
honestly, I do it because I have a lot of tension on my muscles, not to change my face.
Keltie I just want to say you are aging beautifully :)
You are a saint for women thank you for your service🫡
Girl has a great jawline to start
Oh my word I do that too! I would have an ache or pain somewhere.. and my conclusion was that I have cancer. Or when I have brain fog I’m like,.. “I’m going blind.” 😂😂😂
WHY DO WE DO THIS TO OURSELVES
I think a good alternate title for this video is “how many different ways will Keltie pronounce gua sha.” 😂 Seriously though I haven’t seen one of your videos pop up on my feed in MONTHS and last night I randomly thought of you and was like “I need to see if I’m still subscribed to Keltie!” I am, but I guess I just haven’t been getting the notifications? Anyway, I’m here now, and catching up. I’ve missed you. ☀️
Thank you for your video. You look great!
Um I think there's a HUGE difference, I don't understand how she doesn't see it.
Your jaw has always been sharp 😍 please teach us how to have good posture 😅
You looked great even before obviously but I can see a clear difference in the before and after photos! Which method were you using exactly and how many minutes every day?
Hello ! Your series have been so inspiring! I have been purchasing products from your recommendations and I truly see a difference! Unfortunately LMNT electrolytes don’t ship to Australia anymore:( what would you recommend as an alternative?
Please try the Andrew Huberman jaw exercise! :D ❤
I’ve alwaysss wondered if they work. I use mine on occasion because it feels good on the muscle but that’s about it 😅
Exactly how I felt hahaha!
LOL the American Psycho references 😂😂
It's amazing what posture does!
