I was a storm chaser for 20 years and it always amazed me that people would stand in the open filming on their phone a storm severe enough to produce a tornado and not be afraid of a lightning strike.
At the beginning, I am looking west. When I am facing the side of the building with all the college kids running, I am facing NW. When I am looking at the stadium, I am facing NNE. The beginning of the video is Couch Restaurants and the part where students are running is couch tower (dorms)
@@jonathanboyd9644 im am not sure its been awhile since my brother has been there he went back in 2014 for a short while he remembers seeing a few mods around campus
Thanks. I went to school there. I was wondering when you ran to a differnt spot if that was just past the Couch restaurant and looking past Walker Tower over the Huffman Rec Center.
Neemias Silva santos it was actually right on Lindsay and 24th. Super close to where this video was shot. Look up 4-13-12 and there’s a video of someone who got the tornado as it formed just west of Norman and moves right into Norman just north of him
I was in Newcastle and we got a sht ton of hail... right after this storm was over I left and headed back toward OKC.. as I crossed the bridge over I-44 I could clearly see this Tornado over Norman!!! It was one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen... I tried to get a pic of it but my phone wouldn’t pick it up and I didn’t have my professional camera with me😐
I lived in Norman for 11 years, and now live in Moore, and we do not use an all clear tone. We have 1 tone, and it is the alert tone. I've lived in the area all my life, and have worked with meteorologists in the area. I've taken classes and tours at the National Weather Center in Norman, and I can promise you that we only have 1 tone for our sirens.
t128... the t135 AC/DC also sounds like that but its louder and bigger and a bit thicker sounding... these are t128s. remember a 2001 is a thin WAH and the 128 is a REALLY thick WOO.
The whole time while watching this I was say, "Why are you so god damn stupid! The sirens are going off man! Do you not see the other people making a run for it to the building?! If I were you, I'd would've made a run for it."
ain't it nice how we OKIEhomans are so comfortable, to let it drop into town before sounding the alarm or waiting for it to get within stone throw before we start running for cover. Could be likened to an animal trainer who gets too close to the naturally dangerous creature...

this must suck for exchange students who have never experienced a tornado or hurricane.....

That Tornado siren sounds scarier then the damn Tornado!!!! Scary!!!!
It would be nice to know which building you are in while filming and which way you are looking (E, W, N, or S)

Did they replace the T-128s or just the Thunderbolts and SD-10s?
Sirens in New England the 128s are on the campus only unfortunately but everything else I guess is replaced with a whelan 2910
sounds like a Thunderbolt or a sick sounding 2001!!?? Or a funny sounding tornado siren. What do you guys got?
Were are the tornado i cant see

And it had to be on Friday the 13th!
Why are people running for There sounding the ALL CLEAR TONE not a Alert Tone!
They don't sound an all clear tone in norman
Kayden Lord There sounding right now - So there still using it! The steady tone will all ways be an ALL Clear tone besides the Noon Tone!

Never heard of an all clear tone, I live in norman. Any siren is bad unless its a test
There is no such thing as an all clear tone in the US, not for weather at least.

Nice T-128 action!! That siren is on top of the couch Restaurant.

Smart thing to do. Stand outside.
TheJakeman789 I was looking at the radar on my phone. I knew I was in no danger from the tornado.
So what about lightning though????
TheJakeman789 true true, but can’t live life in fear all the time.
