Good stuff Scott. I wondered what you were driving in the opening too, looked like something with a bog scoop for sure. I learned the hard way oven cleaner will strip anodizing from AL, my stove top accidentally got sprayed with it and the finish was gone! Should work for you too.
JohnCarey1963Jag Hi there Sir John, Its worth a go then, they are in a tattty condition, I need to put that right, they will be very visisble, thanks for stopping by
Greg's Garage Hey Greg, thanks mate, yep happy now it is fitted to the chassis nice and strong, i have no excuse now, I bought a couple of long sanding boards, so that will help I hope!
If you struggle on the curvy panels, slice about 3/4 of the way through one of your long boards... maybe about 12-20mm apart (think of slicing a loaf of bread, but stop short). You'll hesitate to cut up a new longboard, but it will save you HOURS of time sanding the bubbly panels.
Good to see you keeping up the good fight Scott! :-) Looking good. I dunno, some of the coffee I've gotten served would probably strip the paint off a battleship.
spanermantim Hiya mate, got it in primer, at the moment, I'll paint it in top coat when I mix some more up. yep the daftest bit was, I ran out of mig wire, just before I started, had to buy some more to do 10" of weld LOL
ha ha yep i think acid in your drink would ruin the taste, but your teeth would sparkle :-D Im sure you can weld some strips of sheet metal inside those side bumpers to meke them less weedy, there is plenty of space, you could hide house bricks in those lol.
Nice one Scotty.
Glad I'm not the only one stripping in the garage..
Oohh, err missus!
Barry Jones Haha got to be done LOL

Argh the traffic. I like the rear boot extension adjustment. Did you repaint it after welding? I bet you thought you were done with the chassis.
