Man, do yourself a major favor, look for the isolated rythm guitar of this song. What james does underneath that solo is just amazing. Absolutely brilhant.

Haha I've been banging on about the bloody marvellous isolated rhythm section too, love the tone. There's a few good videos on recreating the AJFA guitar sound.

Really I'm stunned with your notes, like first you notice it's a reversed gong and then the 3 harmonies before the guitar solo, really man as I was listening to that song for years literally, I never noticed the third octave harmony, it's such a detail but I dig it so much you noticed that :) Cheers brother! ;)

‘Super-edited to the grid’…Pitch-corrected…exactly. You can’t tell who’s playing it, cause Pro Tools is playing it. When you do the same to all the other instruments, you get a robot band that can’t touch my emotions. I only listen to music by bands who refuse that treatment. I very rarely listen to anybody who wasn’t already making music in 1995 or sooner, with only a small few of exceptions.
This should satiate your desire for chromatic power chord progressions for a while…😂
I feel like Kirk’s solos are slightly sloppy for character tho. Not a bad kind of sloppy.
I love this album, but this is my least favorite song from the it...kind of a filler to me.
