- ► Watch BMX Nigeria Part 2 with Courage Adams here: • BMX Brought Him Home |...
BMX street is one of the most frequently evolving sports in the world. Fashions come and go as pro riders flit between the contest scene and their latest video release. In Nigeria, things are a bit different.
As it is around the globe, riding bikes can be about breaking down walls and allowing an ever-growing group of riders to connect and feed off each other's inspirations and influences.
In this film, Starboy, KK Money and S-King lead us through the streets of Lagos, Nigeria's largest city, to illustrate just what a difference riding bikes has made to their lives and what their hopes are for the history of the sport in their town.
BMX on the streets of Lagos seems to be a blend of both old- and new-school influences and looks set to head off in its own unique direction as the riders and scene evolves. We can't wait to see just what the future brings for BMX in Nigeria.

Wooooow I'm 45 years old ..... tears came out of no where..... the memories just kick in..... I was on a Bmx rider since my grandmother gave me my first CHOPPER as I called it.....1979 Best Christmas Ever... I was only 5 years old.... summer of 1981 my rush with racing, doing all types of tricks and many trips to the hospital did not stop me.... so love this video .... big shout out to the new Nigerians riders.... don't get hurt and don't forget to enjoying the ride.....

Salute to all teachers of Nigerian and yes worldwide too. Teachers like him needs more recognition. They should be paid well to inspire students to become future teachers.
Nigeria*
He's works hard. It's not about he's Nigerian. It's about their ability to work hard.
Yes true
They have that ability
Nobody said that it was about them being nigerian. The reason thats brought up is to show that just because theyre in a poor area, that doesnt stop them from doing what they want
Unpopular Opinion, but I feel they had nothing to do so they learned something fun.
@@CopperHeadProjects true
And they still say extreme sports isn't good for you. I quit my opium habbit, started skating
You found your elixir to life man , cheers ! Live on the moment and feel your surroundings
Well done buddy. Getting over addiction is how a friend of mine got in to blading.
@Zero Cool how is that what you got from the comment?
I got off dope through rock climbing, also found a passion for mathematics. Back on dope though, be careful you don't just replace one addiction for another, because if you get injured and can't use your crutch (skating), you'll end up going back to your old crutch (using).
Where the hell were you getting opium? You live in Afghanistan or something?
That's why people go to the gym. Any form of addiction is a suppression of emotions. Let the feelings in a feel it.. that's how you let go
This is proof of "it's not what you don't have, it's what you do with what you do have!" Humanity at its finest.

@@Bmxinnigeria you´re really not in to what the brand does aren´t you? it´s a multi billion dollar concern sponsering the biggest sport events all over the world including formular one just to get their drinks sold. A few bikes is nothing more than promotion to get them sold even better... it´s nothing more than an instrument. they could do really much more if they would use the money for the bikes and the camera crew anywhere else building a fountain and not a skate park...

But with the power of the community, we can boost your beginnings!
Give me your contacts and we can build the first skatepark in Nigeria!

That'd be amazing!.....but I suggest you contact Red bull to link you up to these guys, its safer.
Igor, good to see you trying to make a difference.... Lots of love from Nigeria!
I think you should try & link-up with other people like you that want to build a skatepark/bikepark in Lagos, Nigeria. All those guys/girls will have a fun safe place to go enjoying what they like doing.

@John Jack how did you end up getting anything related to race from his comment? Your reading comprehension is AWFUL.
@John Jack moron
@John Jack think before you speak man
@John Jack by definition, speaking could be typed as well as verbalized.
When I was a kid only 16 years old I decided to go on my own due to the hardship from my parents. I can proudly say that my life was saved buy a BMX bike. I wrote it everywhere I got a job as a dishwasher and bought my first BMX racing bike after scene kids jump around on dirt jumps. I told myself "i can do this" so I went to my local bike shop and bought myself my first racing bike on layaway. A GT Mach One $20 a month. So I decided to become a BMXICAN because BMX I CAN. My dream what's to become a state champion one day but little did I knew that I was going to become state champion 5 years in a row and 2 times National in a row. So my message is keep dreaming guys and let no one take your dreams Away from you the sky is the limit. When you fall you get right back up and keep on pedaling until the end of the finish line and then you press on further. Let no one steal your dreams or put you down. Peace out from California

Just found this, and I loved it! Different time, different country, but this so reminds me of us when we first found BMX. No money, old broken bits of bike, put together in the garage, no brakes!
