@@jessiejb4684probably gaza picked a fight they couldnt win and i think they were comparing the entire israel palestine conflict vs the syrian civil war and at first glance its not even close.
@@jessiejb4684fair, I’d not got into the numbers but I think places like Aleppo and I’d guess most battles were losses due to pro government forces. In that case ~ 300,000 estimated dead. This war I think by most estimations is winding down as far as the massive operation that covered all of Gaza.
I'm confused by how this comparison matters. First, civil wars are generally more bloody than interstate wars in modern times. (Explaining the Severity of Civil Wars, Bethany Lacina, The Journal of Conflict Resolution, Vol. 50, No. 2 (Apr., 2006), pp. 276-289). Additionally, you are comparing a civil war in a state with roughly 22 million people in a state of civil war to an invasion of a region with a population of roughly 2 million. The casualty estimates in Gaza are around 35,000 or 1.75% of the total population over roughly 8 months). Even if we take your estimate of the Syrian civil war casualties (which is a much longer conflict with the numbers I can find around 580,000 over 3 years), that is roughly 2.72% over 3 years. So, when looking at it in that context we can see the casualties in Gaza are lower as a percent of the population but that is in what is effectively an interstate conflict (vs. A civil war, which as stated above tends to be bloodier) and in a shorter time period (8 months vs. 3 years). Israel has not pushed into Raffa and they have explicitly said they will no matter what. The casualty rates will climb during that push. We can't say how that will affect the numbers. Either way, when looking at these numbers it shows that the comparison isn't very apt (different kind of conflict, different length of conflict, and one has switched to more low intensity conflict (Syrian civil war) vs the other hasn't finished high intensity combat). Take the rest of the numbers with a grain of salt because of that, but I added them as context because the main post is a bad comparison in multiple ways (you also shouldn't use hard numbers of casualties for two region os significantly different populations and imply that the casualties of one region in hard numbers is much lower so it is fine. That is a bad way to compare them, we have to consider the comparative population sizes).

600,000 dead estimated from Syrian war So we’re way less than 1/3 in Gaza at worst estimates. More like 5-10%
You can’t compare the first 7 months of war to a conflict over years with large death tolls on both sides. Gaza is very one sided.
