@Bryson Hollar New tv fixed my problem, netflix an youtube did updates that fucked over certain tv's, mine was one of them. I didn't Buy a new tv, a friend has the same device as me, so took mine to his house , connected it to his newer TV an blamo, it worked. I'm still pissed off that a damn update caused all this bs. I Refuse to buy a new tv just so I can watch certain apps! Guess eventually I'll have nothing but dvds to watch an I'm fine with that. No commercials, no woke BS, no cost to do it since I already paid for them.
Great video thank you, just got a new shield after setting up 1 week later cannot get it to start with my remote. Have to unplug and re plugin to turn on. Do you have any video regarding this matter?
So now I've removed any external usb I'm experimenting with the micro SD formatted to exFAT and it seems to still having the same problem. Could it be any external storage plugged into the Nvidia Shield is problematic?
Thanks I think it worked but I had to go to usb settings to remount because it said forget storage But it clicked in me that when I used external storage for apps I had to designate what usb ports function should be.

Why is my netflix menu on nvidia shield pro worse quality than my native app, video is good, same, just menu and subtitles are worse, i read somewhere that shield is 1080p ui compared to 4k on native app on tv?
My issue was Netflix buffering forever (I have 1 gig download speed) as it tried to start until I rebooted the Shield, and then often the screen going snowy for some reason and had to unplug it to get the picture back. I finally got fed up and bought an AppleTV 2022 box which runs flawlessly. Not being a TV gamer or into sideloading like I was, it was a no brainer. The Shield is a good streamer when it works but is a little long in the tooth.
My UI is bugging a lot since the last update..and I don't have any external hard drives or anything..I openned up my shield and cleaned it out..not sure yet if it helpd... another thing I notived..when backing out of apps and going into new ones...I get this BLUR effect for a quick second ...its weird...🤔
I might sell my Nvidia Shield and get a 4K Max Firestick. Nothing but issues with my Nvidia shield. Even after changing the thermal paste and factory resetting. It’s still sluggish and Disney plus takes like 10 seconds before it starts playing the video. Hulu randomly doesn’t work until I reboot the shield. And Netflix sometimes when I click play, it stays on the description screen for a few seconds with the sound playing in the background. It’s like it stutters. Even with it hooked up to my Fiber Internet with Ethernet.
I use tivo and haven't any real issues. My neighbor uses the shield n it's slower n always screwing up. 2 much software I think. The less crap on the box the better. I've modded the tivo with USBC adapter to micro SD. Works flawless on tivimate
So that means you don’t have access to all the apps you download it because they are on your hard drive that’s terrible. And I have the Samsung hdd hard drive Nvidia needs to get off their ass and fix this. What the hell are they doing? I’ve noticed they really don’t care when you call them for customer support.
I just bought an NVideo Shield TV Pro, have spent close to 2 hours installing update after update after update. Finally got them all and tried to use netflix and it won't play anything. Either I get Netflix app is not compatible with your device OR sometimes rebooting the shield lets me in and then it won't let me play any titles. I HAVE NO EXTERNAL STORAGE. This is the dumbest thing ever. $200 and several hours down the drain. I guess I'm returning it
What if you don't have anything plugged into the device? All my apps work Except for netflix.

Omg. This fixed it! Nextflix a Disney plus wouldn't play until I reboot. This is much a better fix!

Yes, you can! The NVIDIA SHIELD TV has a huge selection of apps.
First time I seen this! I had not problems with Netflix or Disney plus on Nvidia shield pro 2019

clear the cache on your apps to free up space then reboot.

@@dmo848 I sold my Shield and bought the Amazon Fire TV Cube, it never freezes or lags like the Shield did. Guess mine was going bad.
