- Elvis' "Girls!Girls!Girls!" co-star Laurel Goodwin shares her memories from the movie set on this episode of the Gates of Graceland.
Tom Brown interviews Laurel about her time with Elvis, her television and movie career and more. Laurel shares behind the scenes stories of playing football with Elvis between filming, discussing life and philosophy with the king, teaching him how to do the twist and how she enjoys meeting fans from around the world.
"Girls!Girls!Girls!" was released in 1962 and also stars Stella Stevens, Jeremy Slate, Benson Fong and Robert Strauss. It was directed by Norman Taurog. Elvis stars as Ross Carpenter, a fisherman who wants to buy a boat that his father built. Ross is also in a love triangle with two women: night club singer Robin (Stella Stevens) and the sweet Laurel (Laurel Goodwin). The movie was filmed in Hawaii and featured Elvis' hit "Return to Sender."

This woman is sweet. It’s great to hear a story of a female who wasn’t gaulking at Elvis or saying oh he loved me or that…it was platonic friendly and genuine! Great story!

Her comment calling out Col. Parker, was spot on & almost 5 years prior to the movie Elvis starring Austin Butler which was about that very subject.

Laurel is so nice and is so right about Elvis and she even realizes that Parker wasn't the best manager for Elvis. What a sweet lady and for her to be there for Elvis, just awesome.

Really enjoyed this interview with Laurel and all she shared about her personal interactions working with Elvis on the film and all their down to earth talks between filming as he really enjoyed their friendship !! Will definitely have to watch this movie....thanks so much for sharing !!!

I I would love to have met Elvis not as the Entertainer but as the man I fell in love with him Etta much older age but I always admired him and I go to sleep listening to his music especially as gospel music I hope to see him one day in heaven

Great down to earth lady. Nice interview. Once again affirming just how nice a guy Elvis was. As Larry King said he's never ever heard a bad word said about Elvis from those that worked or knew of him in the industry, quite incredible.

There was that guy who played with him in Vegas who said his first day on the job he was wearing overalls, and Elvis publicly embarrassed him because he kept saying "Who's the farmer? Who brought in the farmer?"
