    RDJ is an inspiration to young people. He hit bottom. Rock bottom. Drugs and alcohol addiction. In and out of prison. Bad marriage.
    Broke. And then he got clean, and climbed to the very top of his industry. NEVER GIVE UP!

      However, it is a constant reputation to avoid temptation when you are an addict.
      I hope Marvel had insurance if RDJ fell off the wagon.
      I saw a show on Phillip Seymour Hoffman and he was a reformed drug addict and was clean for over twenty years, but succumbed to temptation, and it killed him. So RDJ will never be free from temptation for that lifestyle. Not a put down, just a reality.

      Scandal is exactly what it was. He was in and out of jail for 5 years straight, studios and networks were dropping him because he was such a liability.

    People didn’t forget Martha Stewart: they forgave her. She served her time, she paid her fines and she stepped down from her posts. She ended up serving time in a “last choice” facility. She is an awesome person who does a lot of outreach today.

      That and it was for something other celebrities, the wealthy, and politicians do ALL THE TIME without consequence. The fact that she basically had the book thrown at her was ridiculous in and of itself - much less for such a white collar offense - while some of the celebrities on this list seriously harmed or even killed people and just got a slap on the wrist.

    I used to be a fan of Chris Brown, but stopped liking him after hearing about his brutal assault on Rihanna. I'm glad that she's doing better nowadays.

      I'm actually surprised he still has a career despite the numerous charges and allegations of him being violent toward women. Yes, he's talented, but he needs to be held accountable. I remember that after he got arrested, almost every company dropped him and his appearance on Zack and Cody was blocked from airing on TV. I agree with you about Rihanna.

    I'm a little confused about Ben Affleck being so high on the list compared to other celebrities. Like, the dude didn't want some of his family history, albeit a very dark secret that he himself wasn't aware of until the episode was being made, revealed to the public while some of other people on this list have committed manslaughter.

      I thought the same thing. I don't think that he is one to honestly even probably be on the list. The sad truth is if you dig far back enough all Americans probably have a family member who participated in that era in some way or another. Be it even turning a blind eye. People who are NOT in the public eye don't want to even know that information, honestly. I would feel terrible hearing that from past relatives, let alone disclosing it on television.

    Martha Stewart was a stock broker before she became the home & hospitality guru she’s known as today. Because of her background in finance, she damn well knew insider trading was illegal and the government decided to make an example out of her.
    As for the 5 month stint in prison, she was incarcerated at FCP Alderson, the most comfortable penitentiary in the United States.

    You should have included the late Tom Sizemore's drug addiction and domestic violence issues. The guy never really never got clean from these struggles. His career was forever tarnished by these scandals and controversies and it never recovered and he was left working in B movies and Independent films after 2003.

    I NEVER forgot Ted Danson in blackface because I regularly post on The View Channel and he was dating Whoopi Goldberg. I don’t think all were forgotten. Most people were forgiven or in retrospect weren’t such a big deal. Everyone of a certain age remembers Martha Stewart’s ordeal and its gained her huge respect after she bounced back.     This makes you really think about how just letting things go can lead people to have full inspiring lives that people can look up to when there given a chance.     Some of these "scandals" are almost non-issues while some are serious crimes that should really have been addressed. I don't care if someone cheated on their spouse, but assaulting your niece, beating your partner, or fleeing a car crash should really lead to consequences.

    An honorable mention is the late Zsa Zsa Gabor's arrest for slapping a Beverly Hills police officer, along with driving with an expired license and carrying an open container. She eventually pleaded no contest and the incident became a punchline everytime she made cameos on TV and movies.

    It is incomprehensible that you left out Peter Yarrow (formerly of Peter Paul and Mary) 1970 Sexual assault conviction for doing something with a 14 year old girl he ought not to have been doing. He spent three months in jail for that transgression.

      Danson received negative press attention October 8, 1993, after his appearance wearing blackface at a Friars Club comedy roast in honor of Goldberg, and for using many racist slurs. Later Goldberg defended the sketch, explaining that she had helped write much of the material and referred Danson to the makeup artist who painted his face as a societal critique.

    Worst for me was Michael Fassbender, I had no idea until recently but he allegedly abused his ex, horribly, there were so many allegations I can't remember them all but the standouts were him assaulting her in a hotel room and breaking her nose, and another where he allegedly grabbed her by her hair and dragged her down a flight of stairs. Whenever he's asked about the allegations he's really dismissive of them too, it's weird, and they've more or less been forgotten about. Had a lot of respect for the guy but I just can't look at him the same way, gives me the creeps.

      Sorry to say but people who are friends with him and family and friends of that woman all have said she never dated him. She was beat up but never stated what really happened
      He brushes it off cause he never was with the person. His other relationships have all ended amicably and they all said he had outbursts where he hit a wall or yelled but never raised a hand to them.

    Not to defend Ted Danson's roast back then, but I do remember that it was a joint effort between Goldberg and Danson. The Associated Press reported this in a 1993 article, "Goldberg said she herself had written much of the material for Danson and even found him the makeup artist who applied the blackface." Furthermore, according to the article, "the Friars Club is known for ribald roasts and jokes focus on sex, gender, bodily functions, religion and race."
    I don't think his bit was tasteful and it was definitely offensive, but that was the point.

    Am I the only one who thinks that while cheating on your partner definitely sucks, it's a personal matter that should not really affect your career or that shouldn't even be a something that the public should know or care about?     Not being an insider herself, Martha Stewart could not have been convicted of insider trading. What she was convicted of was lying to the FBI. Had her attorney advised her wisely and she not spoken to the FBI, she would not have been charged or convicted of anything.
