O_o ... Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, @@teruienages962 , but that doesn't make them right. And this isn't just me saying it ... the sequels are being referenced in theatre arts schools as textbook examples of what NOT to do. They're such epically BAD movies, they are being held as the Rotten Tomato Gold Standard. And this is entirely aside of how badly they warped the GFFA paradigm, to the point the Disney version can't be canonically matched to the Lucasfilm properties. They're effectively two different universes that happen to share a few character and setting names. The Last Jedi was just the last straw on a wildly overloaded camel's back. We're obviously not going to agree on this ... and this is actually fine. Like I said at the start, it's all our opinions. The true test is the test of time. I do, however, firmly believe the consensus is heavily weighted against you ... Star Wars: A New Hope was released in 1977 and is STILL regarded as a landmark film. TLJ is, at best, regarded with mixed emotions.
You have your own opinion, @@teruienages962 , and you are entitled to it ... however, the judgement of time and the consensus of general opinion do not stand with you. Overall, fen-sourced critiques of the Disney works ... indeed, of ALL of Disney's recent works, even several years predating the Lucasfilm purchase ... is not kind. Production-line glitter-and-gloss, with very little substance behind it, seems to be the kindest take. Star Wars: A New Hope, released in 1976, still stands as a benchmark and highly regarded icon, and while The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi do not carry the same weight, collectively if not individually the original Trilogy is regarded as one of the finest examples of motion-picture storytelling in existence. The Disney Trilogy, however, is widely regarded as simply that ... Disney's (failed) attempt to follow a master's epic. Even the harshest critics of the Prequel Trilogy ... which included me, at several points ... do not censure it as harshly as we do the Disney works. At least the Prequels didn't cheerfully discard critical elements of the GFFA paradigm in favour of the "rule of cool" and "subverting expectations". For whatever it might be worth ... taking the story in a new direction was not, contrary to the original-trilogy-fanfolk's pained howls, an entirely bad idea. George envisioned three story cycles, with a definite beginning, middle, and endpoint ... which SADLY undervalued the sheer breadth of scope the GFFA grew into over decades of care and devotion, by creators and fen alike. It could have been ... and with the depths of resources, imagination, and creative talent sincerely invested in it, damned well SHOULD HAVE BEEN, truly epic.

Every kid my age loved Jar Jar, and more than half liked Anakin. As an adult I get people's problems with him (and Anakin), but I think it achieved its purpose, and I hope he knows that there were people who really loved it
Most of these people either wanted to profit over whatever subject their movie was abut or they bought the house that a movie was filmed in. They are as much at fault as anyone who made their lives uncomfortable. Seriously, the Lutzs' are complaining? They made the Amityville horror story up to profit. What did they think would happen?
The Lutzs didn't profit from the Amityville Horror (both book and movie) Ed and Loraine Warrens did. The Lutzs claim that most of the story was made up by the Warrens and were upset by how the Warrens depicted the family especially the Father George. That what the line about disputed events was about. It's worth noting several other families (including the Conjuring one also mentioned here) have made similar claims against the Warrens
All of us can "get" why the people in Rabun county are still none too fond of their infamy. "Deliverance" has been a punch line for so long the story itself gets forgotten. Nevertheless, it would seem easy enough to clear up the infamy - how about analyzing a sample of DNA tests from one or two hundred people chosen at random from Rabun county? What harm could there be in trying to lay to rest an unfavorable 50 year old perception of the county? All this assumes, of course, that all those family trees do actually fork...

WOW! The Nuclear fall out is understandable, but the wine makers?! How does that work?! Also, terrorist's lives are already ruined by being terrorists! A MOVIE should not tick anyone off enough to take hostages!
Doctor Zhivago should be on this list. A woman lost her legs while running and boarding the train actually shown in the film-the following scene was a different actress. All the director did was keep rolling.

On the subject of the Conqueror, there’s actually a video that shows how there wasn’t quite enough radiation to cause all of the crew members to pass away if I remember right. And those that died of cancer had other possible causes for said cancer.
Pretty sure it's not the movie that ruined Oher's life. Pretty sure it was the family. The family lied to him for years long before the movie came out. It's the lie that ruined his life. The movie just happened be to the catalyst/vehicle to make the truth come out.

I don't care how many people with their flawed arguments keep dissing The Last Jedi, I still think it's great, and no one, least of all you, will ever change my mind.
I watched WarGames in 9th grade Social Studies with my friends for a break of doing any schoolwork. I really enjoyed the movie and hearing about the hacking ruining someone's live in this video is so ironic because of hacking nowdays
What the hell is wrong with people who trespass and vandalize people’s homes??
Talking about The Conqueror, mexican actor Pedro Arrmendariz was in that movie and he died of suicide by gunshot after suffering cancer
Cinderella Man... Max Baers family were outraged by his villainous portrayal. In the movie he is threating and evil bragging about killing men in the ring. In reality he was a gentleman and had nightmares about the man who died in the ring. He even donated portions of future winning to the family of the man.
I heard this too that he was a gentle soul outside the ring and that he struggled from that day on over it .
You missed Sean Connery's movie The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen that movie ruined his life
I really don't know, but how?
@@tryme2245 he quit acting, retired and kept a low profile until his death

Connery’s legacy as an iconic leading man was unchanged by “League.”
I looked into some of his history and he said it himself that is that movie ruined him is one of the worst movies that he's ever done he says for himself that and the director or producer was treating them like crap remember
His life wasn’t ruined. He died at an old age still wealthy and with adoring fans. You could argue his career was ruined but he is more responsible for it because he turned down the Matrix and the Lord of the Rings trilogy
I imagined the shining movie being the number 1 pick, especially as this movie ruined Shelly Duvell's life by making her mentally ill due to the trauma endured during filming. 💔💔💔💔
Shelly Duvall should have half of the Kubrick estate, with all the shit he put her through.
@scottcraig3816 I agree. But, also remember that not all the money in the world can help correct a horrifically caused long-term problem. Those responsible for her injuries need to be brought to justice and jailed for their appalling mental and physical abuse this poor, beautiful woman endured.

The Abyss ruined Ed Harris's life. Filming it traumatized him so much, he still refuses to talk about it after 34 years.
Interesting 🧐. Do you have an idea as too why??
@@amethyst5393 the shooting of the movie was physically and mentally demanding for all the crew, Cameron had a set built in a submerged tank filled with black balls to not let the light filter through, to simulate the darkness of the deep ocean, the shooting schedule was exhausting, Harris if I remember correctly also received minor injuries like a perfored eardrum and risked drowning sometimes. What happened to Jake Lloyd was a damn shame. The movie was terrible, but he was just a kid.
Seriously, talk about a toxic fandom. Getting pissed at anyone involved in a movie, to the point where you harass them is completely insane on the surface. But some kid who just got cast in it? That's next level insane. Get mad at the director, or the producer, or the leading actor if you really want to blame someone.
They still owe him a apology.
@@Zakaria3400 Lucas owes him an apology. The kid couldn’t act and his “performance” was horrible. He should have never been cast. It’s like grabbing someone off the street to perform a concerto at Madison Square Garden to a sold-out house. Yeah, the audience is going to complain.

I really feel for Donny Berger, that guy's life was ruined because of his found celebrity.. its really sad man.
Good for Jar Jar Binks guy. I think those that didn't like the character were more critical than they needed to be. Star Wars is more or less a story for kids.
Why did Disney blacklisted her?
So a guy hacks to get access to educational materials and you waste resources (and harm him, even, obviously, not knowing it would lead to suicide) to try and take him down? wow. There are no words for that
Poor Ahmed Best, I had no idea he contemplated suicide!
I feel so bad for Ahmed Best. I feel like I was the target age for that movie when it came out. They were trying to bring in a new generation of younger kids. Every kid my age loved Jar Jar, and more than half liked Anakin. As an adult I get people's problems with him (and Anakin), but I think it achieved its purpose, and I hope he knows that there were people who really loved it
A career is a tough gig, it is a good idea to do something, but you never know what will happen next/
It's worth noting several other families (including the Conjuring one also mentioned here) have made similar claims against the Warrens
the live of the people wasn't ruined from the movies, but from peoples stupidity

While it's true that the group of people know as the downwinders suffered from radiation exposure, the cast and crew from The Conqueror did not. Kyle Hill has an awesome video about how the cast and crew cancer was more from personal habits such as smoking than radiation exposure.
Thank you! Knew I had seen multiple videos explaining how even if they were exposed the amount of time they spent there and the dose itself wasn't enough to cause any extra significant risk of cancer. Kyle Hill is great also, have learned a lot from his channel.

Fame did not bring her much fortune????....Erin Brockovich net worth is over $10 million.....she is rich enough to handle the trivial issues she has complained about...geez.
She earned her money not from fame, but from her work - remember, the legal teams working in lawsuits get a part of the money paid by the defendants, which can be lots of money. It is specifically addressed in the film (which apparently you haven't watched).
In comparison to other cases, hers appears less serious, but if you think that being unable to go anywhere without being recognized and having a child that is addicted to drugs are "trivial issues she is rich enough to handle," you really don't know what a trivial issue is.

I knew there were movies that drew controversies I even knew there were movies that We're about tragedies like 9/11 and Titanic But movies that ruined people's lives I never knew such a thing was possible If Such a thing was possible
Could they be redeemed Later on in life Maybe with an interview With a director or someone Who could set the story straight Not just that but benefits or If necessary A lawsuit For any injuries or damages Caused by mistakes due to production Failures
Movies don't ruin peoples' lives, the reactions of the viewers who take steps toward or against things that were seen in the movies do.
The resident evil finale wasn't even that great. Guess they lost more money in paying the lawsuit
That is unfortunate about Ahmed Best. You think because of how bad playing Jar-Jar was that he would not want anything to do with Star Wars.
Some of these seem silly and petty compared to others. Erin Brockovich especially compared to people dying from cancer or losing their limbs.
