Old furniture is absolutely gorgeous, the changes make a huge difference, there's just one more thing to do, IMO, get a bigger pot for the Ficus in the corner, proportion size to tree height is too small, sit some bricks in the bottom of much bigger pit, put pot on top, stones or bark to cover and done.
Old furniture...omg am I the only one in love with it...solid wood will never be old Great job I love the seating area and plants💞

Moving the bed was a real game changer- and what a lovely sitting area in front of those wonderful windows. Perhaps layering a cream rug to lighten up the floor? Hubby has some serious mad painting skills- not needing to tape off anything! Love the table lamps !!!

Oh my goodness! Your old furniture is mine too, all of it, but I LOVE my old bedroom furniture! I guess I'm old school! I really enjoy your videos with Jason. My husband has late stage alzheimer's, and I can identify with so much of your daily life. You inspire me with your great attitude. I struggle with staying positive during some very trying days. You are doing a great job!
I love what you did, especially opening up that window space. I know you probably have your reasons but if it were me, I would chalk paint those dark pieces of furniture to match the headboard and the bench. I think that would be the finishing touch. Either way though, it is beautiful! Great job.

I would've kept the old bed it was beautiful. The window should never been blocked. I'm just not impressed. It's a beautiful architecture room,it could be so much more eloquent.

Absolutely agree with lightening up the dark pieces. I also feel the mirrors over the nightstands where hung to low. Center of them should be eye level. Other than those two things I think it turned out pretty.

I was thinking the same because they don't make furniture like that anymore. I had to watch till the end and I'm glad you kept some of it. After painting and changing decor I think you should bring the bed back. It's still beautiful with new bed.

That old furniture is vintage and lovely , , give it a little silver paint and that will totally up grade it , totally love the work both of you did.
This has to be one of my favorite makeovers. I love your furniture but that was such a good idea only removing the bed. The room looks so much larger and lighter?😍🤩

The redo of the bedroom looks beautiful, but I have to say in all honesty, that I just love the old bed. It was so pretty, and I love the headboard and footboard. I really like what you did with the window 🙂

The 'old' furniture is beautiful Im sure they'll be trending again soon. Loved what you did with this space, moving the bed and allowing the light in just made a world of difference, beautiful.

This transformation came out gorgeous. I love the window area and the dresser is absolutely stunning, it’s now a focal point. The bed is now the perfect compliment.
I absolutely love this! WOW. Changing your bed location was top tier! Gosh I love this and it's so cozy! The furniture does not look bad at all. You could also paint it white or cream. Great job!

This makeover is just stunning. Doesn’t even look like the same room. Great color choices and the sitting area is so welcoming. You are right about a bench. Smartest thing I did.
It's beautiful and calming. That dresser is massive! Changing out the outlets and switches makes a big difference. My house had the old yellow ones and I always think they look dirty.
You can spray paint them instead buying new ones

Omg thank you for posting this video. I’ve only got to the part where you said that you didn’t wanna spend a lot of money so you kept most of your pieces, but purchased a new headboard and Bench. I’m in the same predicament where my mom bought a similar styled dark brown dresser and chest of drawer for my room because she loved them, but it just isn’t my style. Somehow, I have to find a way to decorate my room and while incorporating the dresser and chest of drawer and I believe this video will help me to do just that. Thank you!!

Simple changes can make a big difference. After watching your vid, I removed a lamp and books from my dresser, added a medium-sized milk white vase with silk greenery and a small plant, my silver Christmas candleholders and 3 small picture frames. Wow ... no cost using what I already had. I love this look. Thanks for sharing your ideas ❤

Try the printed shams at the back with the eggplant pillows to the front for a more stabilizing look before placing the accent pillows! Very lovely makeover!!

A Charming Abode yes please paint the bed for a video ! And then do your wood dressers! I redid my bedroom last fall & painted my old wood dresser white to match my new decor and omg what a huge difference. I changed the hardware as well, removed the attached mirror & replaced with a more modern mirror hung above on the wall and wow 🤩 what a transformation .

Stunning 😍. You really out did yourself and the your hubby. You took this room from dark and heavy to light and airy. It's not weighted down by heavy beautiful furniture anymore. I love your bedroom set, I understand you say it is out-dated but it is fabulous. By the way I loved your headboard, would love to find one like that one. Changing the position of the furniture to bring light in would of been enough. Came out great, but still like it with the other headboard.

My parents have around the same bedroom and it hasn’t been changed in 16 years too ! But threw the years we’ve painted it 3 times . Finally this month we got rid of everything and changed everything up from walls to furniture

Love it! I know what you mean about not opening the blinds, but look what a difference it made to let that sun shine in! My mom always opened her shades everyday to let the rooms "air." She was right! We need that Vitamin D from the sunshine. Those mirrored bedside tables really elevate the room style, plus the addition of the two mirrors flanking the bed...you have just magnified the positive energy in the room. I actually do love your original furniture, but sometimes it is just time for a change. Peace and love.
You did a great job of brightening and opening up your space. I imagine as a day sleeper that darker room was great though.your furniture is beautiful and in perfect condition, it works very nicely.
Love it. Updating the dresser pulls and knobs to chrome may update the entire look for cheap and tie in with the mirrored accents.
