I like it when u always say "then I headed over to the planer" or tablesaw or bandsaw... You make it sound like a journey. Life is a journey Chris. And what a journey you're having today!
Hey Chris, I just wanted to pop in all the way across the globe from Karachi, Pakistan to tell you that your work inspires me a lot and I show off your blog as the kind of channel I want to have someday. Stay blessed!
The distinguishing aspect of your videos is the sound editing. It's great. Nice music, excellent voice over and only enough machine noise to keep it real. Well done.
Chris Salomone Do a Google image search for "Fifth Element stones", or better yet watch it when you have a free couple hours. The boxes turned out great, by the way!
Dude, you are my hero. I know I don't always run in the popular circles when it comes to taste, but you should have a million subscribers. The legit woodworking skills and cinematography with your subtle sense of humor is different and so interesting to me. Even your pimping of the sponsor is interesting because of how you shoot it. All I can say is thank you and I hope you are flattered as you influence my work, although I do it poorly.
I saw another creator sponsored by Care Of and the way you included them in your video as a sponsor is far more effective and less random. It actually made sense to me, and made me consider the site, good job! Also, those projects came out awesome, now I'm considering something similar.
Awesome! I’m in the middle of making a video for a tea box. It felt like it was missing something so I might add grooves like you did here. Thanks Chris!
Packing tape is actually great for clamping small boxes with miters. Putting some saran wrap around the box, to prevent the tape from sticking to the box, and then wrapping packing tape around the box several times increasing tension on the tape is actually a good solution and provides a good amount of pressure. At least when using material 1/2" thick or under. I really love your videos though man, keep it up! #MMP
Liking that shrimp 🍤 Chris???? Fun little project that's great for the average person getting started in woodworking. Awesome job as always and as always wonderful film making.
Nice, you remind me of the host of the new Cosmos, Neil deGrasse Tyson. Very knowledgeable without sounding belittling, and a very calming tone. Uploaded a bad video of that 3 legged table I mentioned a couple videos ago. Would love to get your opinions.
There is a video - it's the one that says "Flat Pack CNC side table" it was posted in December. Also, here is a link - www.inventables.com/?ref=FourEyes
My wife and I don't use them (probably not many adults do)...they are more for kids. So we use them while we're brushing their teeth, and then for mouth wash after. It's either that or wipe down the countertops, drawer fronts and floor everyday. Kids are messy :)
Haha. I always sit there at the end thinking about what I’m going to say... then I just sort of start going and I see where it takes me. This one went The Forrest Gump route for some odd reason.
I love your projects, only problem I have is it seems like you have use the X-Carve a lot recently. I watch you to get inspired, I don't have an X-Carve, so it's hard to get motivated to make something new when I see it used.
I’m going to have to go and watch Forest Gump now. 😅 I’d recommend getting the power cord for the dewalt router on your x carve in to the cable chain. If it was to snag while your not looking it could miss steps.
good call. I've actually had it happen once already. It pulled out the z axis cord and stopped plunging :-/ Will it fit in the cable chain? Otherwise I was thinking I might pair it to the outside
Chris Salomone it should do, I’m not sure if the standard cable chain inventables supplies has opening lids, if not you might have to take the plug off to post the cable through. I work for a cable chain manufacturer so I ordered my xcarve without the carriers and spec’d my own. I’ve seen people use zip ties to attach the cable to the outside of the chain but I wouldn’t recommend that if possible.
Cool! I'm in the middle of making a video for a tissue box cover too! ;-)
nice... Tissue box covers are going to be the "River Table" of 2018 :-)
Chris Salomone Haha! For sure! I'll mention you in my video and let's see if we can get something started. :-)
What about a river tissue box?
Why not, right!?
I like it when u always say "then I headed over to the planer" or tablesaw or bandsaw... You make it sound like a journey. Life is a journey Chris. And what a journey you're having today!
Haha. Maybe I’ll start saying “Mosied on over to...”
Exactly what I was looking for this week! Does anyone else watch the videos for just how comforting they are? Just me??
Thanks Briana...I get comments that say the same thing from time to time, so you're not alone :)
Hey Chris,
I just wanted to pop in all the way across the globe from Karachi, Pakistan to tell you that your work inspires me a lot and I show off your blog as the kind of channel I want to have someday.
Stay blessed!
Thanks Syed. Greetings from the US.
The distinguishing aspect of your videos is the sound editing. It's great. Nice music, excellent voice over and only enough machine noise to keep it real. Well done.
Thanks man. At first I read “disgusting” and was really confused 😃
stonehill865 you're right. Nerdwriter recently had a video on how sound plays a key role in movies. Safe to say Chris nails it in his videos
Always a welcome "break" to make something smaller like this after a lot of larger furniture - amazing how much sanding time is cut :)
YES! It's like 15 minutes and you're done. So nice :)
Thumbs up for the Forest Gump bit at the end. The boxes are cool too.
the planer shot is 👌🏼.
Thanks Thom :)
Getting a major Fifth Element vibe with those stripes!
I've seen two comments that have said that. I never saw it (assuming you guys are talking about the movie.) Now I'm curious.
Chris Salomone Do a Google image search for "Fifth Element stones", or better yet watch it when you have a free couple hours. The boxes turned out great, by the way!
That shrimp definitely caught me off guard, but I'd love a shrimp dispenser as long as it wasn't in my bathroom.
What better time than to class it up with a nice shrimp cocktail?
a whole new way to steam shrimp

Hey Darin...really appreciate the kind words :)
and I'm flattered!
We have all cut a parallagram at least once in our life by mistake! Nice design and video Bubba!
This is a good reminder that not every project needs to be huge and complex to be pretty cool.
Thanks Anthony - that's what I was hoping for :)
I saw another creator sponsored by Care Of and the way you included them in your video as a sponsor is far more effective and less random. It actually made sense to me, and made me consider the site, good job! Also, those projects came out awesome, now I'm considering something similar.
Thanks! Appreciate that.
Thanks for the idea, think I'll build a tissuebox too.
Keep up your great work and greetings from Austria 👍🏻
Nice...and greetings from the US :)
That KPCC hoodie though! Hello fellow NPR supporter :D
Yup - my wife listens pretty much all day at work, so we support :)
...I'm not sure if she meant to get the hoodie for herself.
Nice to see you do something smaller like you said. Very refreshing. And that's all I have to say about that.....
Hehehe
It would be super handy to make a much larger dispenser for toilet paper. They're such a pain to store, but you never would want to be caught short.
That is very true :)
Nice little build with the classic foureyes humour! Turned out great!
Thanks Jake
Your storytelling skills keep getting even better. Great job!
I love the detail cuts you put in at the end, and was wondering how cool they would look if you had put in an inlay.
Great little project.
That could definitely be cool.
Love it! the aesthetics made me think of The fifth element stones.
Very nice project! Enjoyed the Forest Gump reference too.
haha love that forest gump cameo!!!
Nice simple project, I love the lines.
Run Chris, Run!
Best reference yet
Thank's Bubba !!! Nice Job !
In the theme of some of your examples maybe: and Bubba’s your uncle? Great video and ides, thanks
As always, perfect. Thanks for share.
Threw you a like just for the shrimp part, edited perfectly
Thanks :)
You're a goofy dude. Best shot of the whole video was the smile after taking your vitamins. I laughed a little.
Guilty as charged
These turned out awesome Chris!!!!!!!
Bubba would be proud...Nice work!
The gump reference gave ya a like, this is my first video but I can tell I’ll sub
hahaha i loved the ending!
the gump was a nice touch
Awesome video Chris! 😊 Great Forrest Gump reference 😂 That’s one of my favorite movies!
*Cool work*
Awesome! I’m in the middle of making a video for a tea box. It felt like it was missing something so I might add grooves like you did here. Thanks Chris!
Yeah man...it's surprising how something so subtle can really give a design more visual interest.

Appreciate it John :)
I always love a good Forrest Gump reference.
Hi cris, love your work. And I love your videos! Ofer Nahari Israel
Thank you
Liking that shrimp 🍤 Chris???? Fun little project that's great for the average person getting started in woodworking. Awesome job as always and as always wonderful film making.
Thanks Pat :)
Thankful you're funny! 👍🏻👍🏻
Great work, love the look of the covers!
Thanks Seth
I really like this idea, and the stripes are a nice touch
Thanks Mike
Nice job
I just laughed SOOOOO hard at the Forrest Gump reference! that was the best!!
Thanks Whit and/or Claire :)
Good project :)
Nice job Chris
Life is like a box of vitamins...
Awesome! :))) also: Loved what you did with shrimp!!! You're great Chris!
Thanks Keyan
I've got this overwhelming urge to watch Forrest Gump and I don't know why.........
:)
Shrimp ❤️
Maybe because it's one of the best movies ever. Also, shrimp.
awesome design
Life is like a DIY Box of Shrimp!
:)
I'd love to see your shrimp gumbo dispenser!
once again, great video. Almost 200000 subs. I remember whe u first started and a hand ful of subs. I knew you would excell. Keep up the great job.
I remember that too!
Thanks Marty :)
Great looking project(s) Chris... Hungry for seafood now... Hmm.
It's almost dinner time :)
Chris Salomone's like a box of chocolates...you never know whatcher gonna get.
...but it's almost always a woodworking video :)
First I was thinking it's furniture for your living room. Then I checked everything is a bit smaller. ✌️
Greetings from my channel, Arne
PS I love your style of storytelling.
world's smallest furniture :)
Great video Chris! I just signed up for Care Of with your promo code, thanks.
Nice. Appreciate it 😃
Nice Forrest Gump reference
Chris, this is awesome! I just signed up for Care/Of and used your promo code. Thanks for the insights and another great build/video.
Hey Brandon...appreciate it :)
Great mini project. Now if only C/O would taking any province in Canada for an answer I would have given them a try
You can't get it there? Maybe there are some "vitamins across the border" forces at play? Easy solution...move to America :P
You say "anyhow" a lot, FYI! Loved the video per usual!
Thanks! Anyhow... gotta run 😃
anyhow, anyhow, anyhow, anyhow, anyhow, anyhow, anyhow, nice boxes
I assure you there is an editing purpose for all of the "anyhows" :)
Nice, you remind me of the host of the new Cosmos, Neil deGrasse Tyson. Very knowledgeable without sounding belittling, and a very calming tone. Uploaded a bad video of that 3 legged table I mentioned a couple videos ago. Would love to get your opinions.
Great project!
Did you plane 4/4 Cherry down to 3/8? That seems like a lot to take off. Your dust collector must have been full after that
yeah, I probably removed about 3/8 of an inch. Luckily it wasn't that much wood in square feet, so not too much dust.
I had the same thought.
Excelente trabajo
I enjoyed the Forrest Gump reference.
What is the Cnc machine you’re using? Is that a diy project or did you buy it?
It's a kit from inventables. The X-carve - www.inventables.com/?ref=FourEyes
Bacon wrapped shrimp...nifty video. And I gotta get on the vitamins too. Body starting to fight me.
Just lay off the Bacon wrapped shrimp :)
JK - don't forget to use the promocode to save 25%
Hey Chris! i thought you had a video on this but what is that CNC Router station you are using i couldn't find the video.
There is a video - it's the one that says "Flat Pack CNC side table" it was posted in December. Also, here is a link - www.inventables.com/?ref=FourEyes
Thanks for the reply, ah the "Flat-Pack Plywood Side Table" was searching CNC on the channel.
lol @ shrimp comments, that was very well done haha. Great video!!
There's pineapple shrimp, lemon shrimp, coconut shrimp, pepper shrimp, shrimp soup, shrimp stew, shrimp salad, shrimp and potatoes, shrimp burger, shrimp sandwich.
:)
Thanks... now I want Shrimp and my office is shellfish free. GRRRR
yes okay nice work.. BUT WTF ARE BATHROOM CUPS??!?
Glenn Van Biesen suppose to be more 'hygienic'. But in my opinion that's just more waste.
My wife and I don't use them (probably not many adults do)...they are more for kids. So we use them while we're brushing their teeth, and then for mouth wash after.
It's either that or wipe down the countertops, drawer fronts and floor everyday. Kids are messy :)
hahaha yeah okay I get it, try reusable plastic cups ;) But nice woodworking!
How many cups do you go through per day? You have to use reusables.
These are cool
Lovely video as ever but aren’t the one use cups unnecessarily wasteful? Am I missing something?
Sort of...except for on a 4 year old when brushing his teeth. Makes it more fun for him...and saves a big mess
Cocktail shrimp, shrimp on a stick...
Where do you get hard wood at a decent price in your area? im up in inland impire and i cant find anything worth my time.
I go to Reel Lumber...I think they have 2 or 3 stores in and around so cal
What type CNC are you using?
This one - www.inventables.com/?ref=FourEyes
The x-carve
I'm surprised that in the year of our lord 2018, there are still people who don't recognize forrest gump quotes
From the comments section, it seems like most people are hip to it :)
Love it! How do you get the tissues inside the box??
Joshh Rodriguez the box fits over the tissue box.
Tiffany Johnson ohhh, I guess it has no bottom. Thanks!
Joshh Rodriguez no problem
LMAO at the ending
Me: I feel a Forest Gump reference coming on. ...
... and there it is ...
... nice.
:)
Can I know wiche wood do you use?! :)
This one was cherry
Você é foda nos projetos mano, parabens e obrigado por compartiphar...
"My name is Benjamin Buford Blue, but you can call me Four Eyes".
Haha. I always sit there at the end thinking about what I’m going to say... then I just sort of start going and I see where it takes me. This one went The Forrest Gump route for some odd reason.
Forrest Gump talking to Bubba :)
I love your projects, only problem I have is it seems like you have use the X-Carve a lot recently. I watch you to get inspired, I don't have an X-Carve, so it's hard to get motivated to make something new when I see it used.
Well...you could definitely still build something like this without it - and it's a tool in my workflow. It'll get used from time to time.
Chris, I always see you wearing a Chicago Cubs hat in your videos. Are you originally from Chicago, or do you just like the hat?
Just like the hat...though my Dad is coincidentally from Chicago
Shrimp.
Hahahahahahahahahahaha, Bubba! 😝
1:00 wondered why the room was moving!
I’m going to have to go and watch Forest Gump now. 😅
I’d recommend getting the power cord for the dewalt router on your x carve in to the cable chain. If it was to snag while your not looking it could miss steps.
good call. I've actually had it happen once already. It pulled out the z axis cord and stopped plunging :-/

Came for the DIY, stayed for the shrimp.
V cool reference to Forrest Gump :-)
I challenge you to make a shrimp gumbo dispenser.
on it :)
5:38 is that an original eames chair?
Indeed...I got two of them for free from an aunt and uncle that just had them sitting in their garage :)
