    The body fat percentage needed to see your pack of abdominal muscles falls somewhere around 14 to 20% for women and 6 to 13% for men. However, the ideal body fat percentage for abs can look slightly different per person, depending on how you carry weight, where you typically store fat and your fitness routine

    Thanks for this bro. As pre-T who has got endometriosis (😭) I can't do any kind of training. Not even long walks anymore. I used to do karate and training when I was a teen, but then my body got fucked up thx sexist doctor and I started gaining weight. Now after learning about my bowel issues (ibs and several others) I got my diet fixed up 2-3 years ago and lost 20kgs by just diet. No workout or anything.
    Now I know that once I get T, I can recover from endometriosis and then I can start working out again. I am not so much into fitness in sense of body building. I like to have strong and agile body for parkour and such. I love running, dancing and martial arts. It's torture that I can't do anything but short walks atm.
    Anyway, I have kind of non-dairy, ketogenic diet because my body can't handle grains (except rice) or carbs. Once I start training again and taking T, do you have an advice regarding where to get enough energy? (I eat like a victoria's secret model tbh, my body feels best and I have no pain like that) I eat nuts, eggs and rice sometimes. But heck my kcals are still around 1000kcal most of the days. 😅 I know... it's far from enough but atm I am passive every day so I can handle it... I think that I have got them up to 1300kcal tho. I still keep losing weight and thats okay. I am short person and not at my ideal weight yet... the real challenge is gonna be when I reach my ideal weight and shouldnt lose any more. Well... I'll just have to try out what work for me then unless if you have recommendations.

    Yes sir, I’m a firm believer in this and I’ve been training my abs as well so it’s a definite goal to have defined abs along with defining the body as a whole! Thanks man!

    Right now ur my favorite ftm bodybuilder. Years ago as an athlete keeping abs was easy but now I’m much older it’s so hard to keep motivated. But the transition of your body is realistic for me- so thanks for the motivation!

    What's your opinion on ab wheels? Have you used that and do you find it to be effective?

    • @DevonSpears
      @DevonSpears  2 роки тому +1

      They’re effective and probably the most torturous form of ab training. If I had to train my abs like that I wouldn’t do it lmao. Thanks for tuning in !

    How do you been abs?

  • @medicusv61
    @medicusv61 2 роки тому +1

    You say like be in a calorie deficit but I'm quite a skinny guy but in a skinny fat way? So I have fat but I'm still at a low weight compared to some guys. So then do I eat more or not?

    • @DevonSpears
      @DevonSpears  2 роки тому

      I honestly wouldn’t be able to give you solid advice as I don’t know your biometrics and your nutritional history. As a general rule if you’re skinny fat you’d want to start off at a slight deficit to get your nutrient partitioning going and shed that “ fat” aspect. Then when a surplus is introduced your body will have adequate use for the calories as opposed to continuing to store it as fat. But honestly so many other factors are at play a big one being training experience.

    • @medicusv61
      @medicusv61 2 роки тому

      @@DevonSpears Fair enough, I think thats pretty good advice but like I see dudes who start working out and they are alot bigger than me, I don't know how I could big by eating in a calorie defecit? Is that possible?
      I'm 7 stone 12 standing at 5"4 (16 years) and according to my BMI im nearer underweight than I am obese.

    • @DevonSpears
      @DevonSpears  2 роки тому +1

      @@medicusv61 the idea is to get big you have to optimize your body composition. If you’re eating a in a surplus and you’re body is storing it as fat as opposed to building muscle than you’re getting big but not properly. Also like I said I don’t have enough info to give you proper advice. Because if you aren’t on an optimal training plan ( including proper movements, rest+recovery as well as cardio) then no matter what you do it won’t be optimal. There are a lot of variables that go into this so I can’t just make a blanket statement based on the minute info here. I do offer coaching and programs something to consider !

    Hey so I'm severely underweight and I'm skinny asf and the only meaty or fat part of me is my thighs and kind of my ass (sad considering I'm ftm lol) so what do I do?

    • @DevonSpears
      @DevonSpears  Рік тому +1

      Eat more food biased towards protein and carbs but tbh if you’re underweight just eat more food period. Prioritize CLEAN food like chicken lean ground beef salmon etc and rice potatoes pasta etc. and always keep color in your meals in terms of fruits and veggies - please check out the playlist I made called FTM fitness where I discuss how to put on mass
