I love how they insisted on playing this song live on these shows, like this particular song, full of samples, the last song you'd expect to ever be played live, on a show where even the simplest song is mimed.
And those shows weren't really equipped for live performances, often resulting in a very poor sound. Plus, the notoriously shy Bernard Sumner became even shier in front of cameras.
I’m so glad this is live instead of the recording because it’s a new fresh version and sounds really good! And I dislike lip syncing. Thanks Countdown! 😊
Classic footage….unique version….Still a fire song.
Kraftwerk. Ian Curtis loved them and would play their albums to the other members of Joy Division. Obviously it influenced New Order. Kraftwerk did it first.
the singer (Barney) seems to have no makeup on, very untypical for being on TV (yes also for guys). he must have refused to get glammed up. i would have never had the courage to go in front of the camera without it haha
@@Farewelltokingz A miracle? I wouldn't go that far. Jeez, Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schulze and Jean Michel Jarre were doing far more complicated stuff before this. So don't make excuses for them.
I know for many of you this live version may be sacred. But objectively speaking, this live version of this song is absolute diluted toilet water. Everything about this sounds worse than the studio version.
This sounds horrible. If this is what they were like live then they are just a studio band. The guys singing is off The volume levels are all off It sounds like a garage recording
Watching them performing live always gave me the impression that they are a bunch of 15yo kids that picked up an instrument for the first time the night before the show.Horrible....
The speakers in the television where back then bad. So this would sound as good as a studio recording, but at least it was live. I sneaked in this track in my kids playlist, they love it.

The fact that they played it live and sing it live makes it even better, love it!!
Best live version of Blue Monday I’ve ever heard! Thanks Countdown! Classic!
40 years a go and still amazing!
Deze band uit de jaren 80. Leuk weer om naar te luisteren. Mooie herinneringen komen weer te boven, mooie tijden!
How cool to have a live version.
I’m so glad this is live instead of the recording because it’s a new fresh version and sounds really good! And I dislike lip syncing.

Is so amaizing an cute.... So young and fresh!!! This song will be great 4 ever!!! This video is the testimony of the story of New order!!! ❤ It!!!

Super tema clasico de los 80's!!
Awesome Channel! Thank you so much for sharing all this wonderful footage 🎶♥️
Es increíble..QUE DESPUES DE 41 AÑOS....LOS DJS..USEN LA VERSION 12"..LA MEJOR....
MARAVILLOSO TEMA..
I was looking out for Richard Whiteley & Carol Vorderman dancing in the background haha
Ridiculously good!
Wow that footage is very crisp! Thx
this is gold ♥️♥️
What I see is lot of tension between!! And what we hear for BlueMonday sounded like their DEMO song.
Masterpiece
Excepcional!!😃
kraftwerk-y !!!
Genios pop !!!😊👏👏👏👏👏👏🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷🎶🎵🎶🎵🎹✨
586 and this really gets my hips moving!
Lol yep! This was it! New order great sound!
Gillian not only not playing but actually hiding her hands from the camera is hilarious.
Amazing ❤❤
Why New Order decided to perform live in TV studios is beyond me. Sounds a little better than the ToTP version. lol
It was Rob's idea indeed
Everything is beyond you dude......please go back to one direction......
@@richardburns5925 C'mon Richard. You have to admit the recorded version is a universe ahead of this. Be honest mate.
You rsmickey, just don't get it. If you don't now, you will never understand New Order or any manc band for that. You just not there 🙄
@@jumofiIt was NOT Robs idea, the band love playing live especially on TV.
AWESOME
amazing channel
increible vivo!!!
Great song live. 👍
WOW Check out the video and stereo sound quality on this! This is amazing 4K and 60 FPS this has to be restored am i right?
Great song
I like this live version, but it's somehow disturbing to look at.
Fvckingg what ?
@@ftrsaliyf-zd4wk
Harsh lighting, glare, close ups and camera angles.
That's what.
It certainly wasn't perfect and that's exactly what I like here!
Chulada ❤
Sonido directo?
YES

New Order......the 80´s sound! They started the machine of the new wave
No
Kraftwerk did it earlier

fkn great
I’m pretty sure that’s Abbey Road studio from what I’ve seen. It’s a live performance but not in the Countdown studio like everything else was.
It sounds like they stared with the outro of the song
Wowo! What a relic!
At least it was live, tech problems...
Uma Banda Fria e Depressiva!
...And all of them were like 26-27 years old. Gillian 22.
👍👍👍
This brings back memories of what an awful live band they were. Depeche Mode really surprised me on thier live show. Lot of fun.
!!!!

nog steeds klapper
It sounds painfully thin.
Keep in mind they were usually really primitive stuff without midi so it’s a miracle it even worked live

Isn’t the beauty of playing live the imperfections? This stuff interests me much more than someone playing a piece perfectly as recorded
They should never play live 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Right? Between Top of The Pops and this they didn’t have a good showing but somehow still iconic.
This sounds horrible. If this is what they were like live then they are just a studio band. The guys singing is off The volume levels are all off It sounds like a garage recording
Everyone complains about them never singing this live on other videos, and on here it's the opposite!
I think it's a pretty good performance. If the recording levels and setup are off, then it's not totally the band's fault.
LoL The Simon Cowell Generation response

New order shit live
