Over the last 10-15 years the amount of good music from the Netherlands has snowballed, but 99% in Dutch. Check out ''Aye'' by Dio & Sef for a real retro 80s hip hop tune from 2011, it's in Dutch but you'll still enjoy it.

They were really bad. But I think it's kind of a cultural thing. They're the same in almost every studio setting I've seen from Europe in the 70s and 80s. The crowd somehow holds it in until the band is finished. But yeah, I don't know how you just sit perfectly still in this case.

Ahead of their time? Are you serious? I hope not. In 1986 this type of rap would’ve been almost 15 years old 😂

this was in 1986. By this point, Black Americans had been doing this for nearly 20 years.
@@aubreyyoung4610 Hip Hop has been around for a while now, but the 'idea' was very niche, mostly black people but not exclusively.. most predominant music were rock and similar. Kraftwerk had been around since the 70, but techno started mid 80s..

This song came to me in Kazakhstan in 1986 along with a cassette with the collection “Italo Maxi Hits”, which was brought by my older brother, who served in the army in the GDR. Well I attended high school in the late '80s, and even though it was the golden age of R&B and Pop music, and the rise of Hip Hop, the darkside was that music was still segregated, believe it or not. It was "cool" for White kids to hate Rap music, and Black kids were supposed to hate Heavy Metal. We divided ourselves, and it was so stupid because years later in college I realized I actually loved Heavy Metal and hard rock but I allowed social pressure to deprive me of music.
