Oh, the tape will last for quite some time. I am about to start using my "good" dive gloves, as the palm is starting to rip out also... This type of diving is hard on gear. Always good to hear from you!
Love your videos, mokpot! I think I'm finally geared up, and may see you out there soon. Just have to get my viz done on my tank, replace old o-rings and other seals, and I'm good! Woohoo!
Nice dive, Mark! Well worth it today. Did you find both watches in the same place? Wait till you see my next treasure hunt video. I found two as well. My first two ever, on the same dive! I love this stuff!
👌been enjoying the summer and diving a fare share. Will have it ready next weekend at the latest.right now they're in rice for a bit then I'll try charging them. You keep em coming too now!
You know , I really like your videos , it's so cool to see whats going on down below, always wondered, thank for sharing your adventures with the world.
Vintage Ray-Ban sunglasses can be quite valuable. There are internet sites devoted to them. I had a pair from 1952 that I got $400 for. Got them at a yard sale. They were in a bag with a bunch of junky, cheap sunglasses. I paid $2 for the bag. Pretty good return!
Back in the 70's i used to raft the same part of the American as you dove on this video. After about a dozen or so day in the river on a raft I decided that the next time down the river i would bring along my mask and snorkel, man what a better way to enjoy the river. I was in high school, beer all over the bottom, sunglasses, and a bunch of broken bottles. I found t-shirts that i brought home washed and wore. One time at Goethe Park there was a man stuck by the current under a mud shelf, as i was passing him i grabbed him from under the shelf and kept going. I have always wondered what happened with that guy. I did see him break through the water, but i was caught up in the current and kept going.
Man I miss doing that .. I live in Fair Oaks, just 2 mins from where you were diving ... I used to dive right below there at the San Juan "rapids"... Until some assholes broke into my garage and stole all my gear. Brings back memories
I've made this dive dozens of times...love it the weekend after the 4h of July, Hazel to Ancil Hoffman. Pro tip... I dip the finger ends of my gloves in, "Tool Dip." Just don't go all the way around, as it makes the finger tips too tight.
Thanks for the "pro tip" I experienced the same tightness issue. I pull my gloves on and off hundreds of times a year, by the time the finger tips start having issues, the cuffs start falling apart also... also, by the time I am using duct tape, winter is back and a new pair is justified for warmth. Hope to see you in the water one day!
@@mokpot ya, I've taken to coating the palms, and tips w/tool dip...works well, and the palms, and tips out last the rest of the gloves. have duct taped the wrists in the past, but I don't have any good tips for the cuffs. Gloves are the weakest part of the gear! lol Let me know next time ur heading out, and I'll see if I can make some time. Haven't been in the river for a bit. it's about time! Brett
@@mokpot Hey Mp, Does the fish ever get pissed because you steal their sun glass's and golf balls? By the way if that tape is still good u think gorilla co. might be interested in using it in a commercial? Just thinking outloud,,,
Hi Collene, I think a lot of what I come across in this area is lost from Rafters and kayakers negotiating rapids and from horseplay. But I get your feelings, there is quite a bit of stuff that is just dumped, out of sight out of mind. I take comfort that most of it, while unsightly on the bottom, is not going to harm the environment. I am grateful I am not finding boat and car batteries, oil drums etc. If you see me giving thumbs up when I find phones and other electronics it is because I am removing a toxic battery from the water. Thanks!
You must have some sort of mesh bag like clammers use so you dont have to hang onto everything right? It seems like you often have to set items down to pick up new items.
Yes, I carry a couple of bags, one mesh and one with a very tight mesh for small items like rings, earrings, and other small items, or nice sunglasses. I do carry things sometimes. It is time consuming to stop, open the bag, and close it back again, so sometimes I wait until I have a few items. I know it sounds quick, but doing it underwater is not that straight forward, and my time is limited by the air I must carry, sometimes decompression issues, and often the cold water. Thank for the question and for watching.
Hey Frank, thanks for tuning in. If you are writing about the lower right of the screen... then, for once I win when a viewer says, "hey, you missed something"... YES! What you see, while they do indeed look like a pair of glasses, is actually an open clam shell. I offer this visual clue, look at the size of the clam/glasses in relation to my gloved hand. Sorry Frank, keep trying and you may one day receive an official MOKPOT Videos oven mitt as a prize.
mokpot lol, just enjoying the adventure you share. Thanks for responding. On my phone it definitely looks like sunglasses. You make me want to start a new hobby
Golf balls almost every diver comes across these so its became a joke with move treasure seekers its not an official hunt til ya find a golf ball ....they are alllllways lurking
DUH, Jeff its a game the so called big boyz play, Who can knock the ball the farthest out ! I used to play golfuntil i figured out what i was doing wrong, I was standing to close to the ball after i hit it!
Are you able to find the owners of the watches? I just got one for Christmas, after watching several videos of yours and others today I’ve learned NOT to wear them around rivers and lakes. 🤣
Hi Sabre, you ar the second person to point that out. But I did not miss them, they are in fact just a clam shell... When I first reviewed the footage I was briefly fooled also, not the size of the "glasses" in relation to my hand. There have been quite a few items I have missed over time that where pointed out to me, including gold rings! You almost got the coveted MOKPOT VIDEOS oven mitt as a prize! Better luck next time!
Hi Dewet, The golf ball story... My friends and I seem to find so many, so often that it became a joke that if we did not find one it was not an official dive, and thus, we could not log the dive in our logbooks. The inside joke has carried over to this channel.
I have a suggestion , "use a magnet" I bet you will find lots of stuff. Visibility will be limited after scuffing up all the sediment but just think of the possibility.
mokpot man, I’ve always wanted to do what you do, but I know I can’t afford the gear. Keep doing what you do, I Watch every single video you put out :)
I'm disappointed at the lack of life and overwhelming trash. I understand those high alt. lakes are very oxygen poor and little decay. I'll go halvsies on that wooden Speed boat you mentioned. I did a lot of salvage diving and would love to fire the golfballs and leave them at a golf course. Do people really just hit balls into the water after crying about plastic straws. Ugh tree huggerz
Hey Steve, I to am disappointed by the amount of trash that is left behind in the water. In this video I would guess that half of it is lost not dumped by people enjoying time on the river, and due to overturned boats or other misfortune their belongings become trash. Most of this garbage while unsightly is not harmful to the environment. Things that bother me is stuff like batteries, that is my main reason for removing phones and other electronics, car/boat batteries are the worse, and they become hazardous to those who remove them. Where there are people there will be lost stuff. As for the old boat... I really do not think it would be restorable for anything close to the final value, after recovery, transportation, preservation, and restoration. I would have to be a project of love for the sake of doing it. II know of old, even historic boats and ships rotting away for lack of interest and funding, for preservation. Golfballs: What can I say...
It's Apple watch had a SIM card in it you should return it free of charge to the owner that's the right thing to do I would do it how are you. That goes for cell phones as well.
Its the sweet thing yes ... But its not immoral to keep somethinf you find.... Thats like saying everytime u find 10 bill you gotta hunt down the owner..... Its nice to see ppl return bug items but i dont get mad id they keep them ... What matters most is his hobby helps take part in cleaning the community.. so pls dont get mad if we never see him return something!
Nice haul of lost treasures and its good to know your out there cleaning up the environment. Two thumbs up.
Enjoyed the dives an offical dive.Nice finds nice watch knifes and caxh is always good thank for sharing
Congrats on new underwater golf course! 19 hole!
Nice score on the Apple watch.
Duck tape fingers! I hope that fix lasts until Winter!
Oh, the tape will last for quite some time. I am about to start using my "good" dive gloves, as the palm is starting to rip out also... This type of diving is hard on gear. Always good to hear from you!

Awesome! Come on in the water is fine!
Nice dive, Mark! Well worth it today. Did you find both watches in the same place? Wait till you see my next treasure hunt video. I found two as well. My first two ever, on the same dive! I love this stuff!
I did find both of them in the same place, in almost the same spot! Think I will check again tomorrow. I am looking forward to your video Don!

I am glad to have you tuning in!
I can’t believe those Apple Watches still work! 😂😂
I wonder if the old CRT monitor was actually being used as a "boat anchor" when it got away. ;-))
My thought was it was tossed from the cliff by some youthful pranksters. There is a 40-50 cliff just above. Good to hear from you Kim.
diving in a river in the usa without finding glasses, an apple watch, a phone is like diving in your bathtub!
lol
OMG! I'm playing catch up on all your videos! I absolutely loved the Tahoe videos and the crawdads coming for ya! Cheers from Costa Rica !!

One of the first finds reminded me of some sort of radioactive container from a sci-fi movie...lol...cute little turtle and I enjoyed the video!
OMG. I hope not! Glad you enjoyed!
I know I have contributed a few pair of sunglasses to the American river. Great video, I look forward to watching more of them.
Good to hear Bad_ss, Looking forward to hearing from you!

All those bottles. Dang!
So much stuff is lost and tossed... Pack it in pack it out! I can understand if you have an accident and lose your stuff, but...

Bummer about the theft...
That was Hella fun!!!
Thanks for tuning in, see you at the river!
question.. how deep does the american river get? looks like it can go 3-6 meters down..
much deeper than that in some places
do you think that turtle might have been Stuck under that branch and could not get out.. they don't do well backing up..
No, the turtle was not stuck, just sleeping safely on the bottom! Thanks for tuning in!
Nice knife and a Apple watch not bad!
Thanks for tuning in Alan!

Hey Victor, While the tape was still good, it had an awful smell, so...TSDNK (Too stinky did not keep)
I see all that trash in our rivers and streams and lakes, makes my blood boil, wonder if they live like that at home?

Everyone is getting golf balls for Christmas! hahahahah
Yep, and I mailed yours early, so keep checking the mailbox!
Love it !!
BIGDOGG! How are you Dude? Going to post soon?
I think i will go tomorrow
I lost my wedding ring a few years back at your second dive site. Great videos
Sorry to hear that... and thanks!

mokpot: all makes perfect sense. Lots of things go on behind the scenes for these dives but you make it seem so easy! Happy 2019 to ya!
I stopped the video at 2:22, did you get those sunglasses

There is plenty of room in the water... come on in!
WHAT PART OF THE AMERICAN RIVER WAS YOUR DIVE AT ? ............. WE DID SOME PANNING THERE 1986-95......... FOUND A LITTLE COLOR ,,,,,,,,,,,,,
They are just north of Sunrise blvd
Right by the boat launch at old fair oaks bridge.
@@motofoto11
sunrise runs north and south.
upstream maybe?
The golf balls definitely gravitate to you. lol
LOL, judging by the boxes of golf-balls in my garage I must agree with you!
Why are there so many golf balls?
why don't U make longer videos
Still don't get the golf ball thing. Thanks for sharing. Subscribed from KY
Hi Jeff, kind of an inside joke, golf balls are everywhere! So much so that if you don't find one, you can not count the dive as official.

No, the watches were worked but were locked... No way to find the owners. Put your contact info on the LOCK screen. Thanks for tuning in!
You missed the white sunglasses by golf ball #5. Bummer

I have a suggestion , "use a magnet" I bet you will find lots of stuff. Visibility will be limited after scuffing up all the sediment but just think of the possibility.
Hey Dewet, i missed seeing your comment when you posted it, I have never thought about bringing a magnet under water before... I will consider it.
You been watching Aquachigger again ! LOL
I never miss a Chigg episode!
That turtle.. aww
Was this closer to hazel ave. Area?
Yep... do you know the area?
mokpot I’m from folsom, you’re always near my area. Keep up the good work!
I was diving Negro Bar today.
mokpot man, I’ve always wanted to do what you do, but I know I can’t afford the gear. Keep doing what you do, I Watch every single video you put out :)
How long do you stay under the freezing cold river.
Hey Steve, my dives average one hour... i dress for the environment.
Good vid.
Thanks!
now your puppy can play with the blue ball u find
Hello Cynthia, sadly my little buddy Gilligan, died last November... But it still makes me happy to find dog toys!
Nice haul
Love your videos. And What will u find
Thank you....
Thank you for taking time to say so Teresa!
Totally cool.
Thanks Michael, I am glad you liked the video.
You may be finding golf balls I hit into the water
Want them Back?
You don’t pick up cans and garbage?
Yes I do, but I can only carry so much and still surface at the end of my air supply. So, here is a secret... it is all garbage, every bit of it.
Yes, I guess your right! Thanks for the videos.
Now that was my thoughts prezackly! don't look really like river cleaning to me, Only of valued stuff!
Dinada tamo junto .
You should get yourself an underwater metal detector.
Have u had any gator run INS yet? Or snakes 👀
Hey KK, there are no Gators in California, I have seen a few snakes on my way to the water, only one in the water!
California you jackass
People litter the waters, can you imagine what their houses look like - just saying
No thank you you may keep them
