Thanks for bringing us along I’m addicted to the water as well and I love I can explore in a river on the other side of the world through your footage 👍
I don’t know if it helps you or not but I find myself banking my phone and my head every time you make a turn! Ive triad and can’t stop much to the chagrin of my wife. Haha! Love the videos, thank you so much for letting us have a view into this world.
Goodmorning Mokpot. Your dive today was in my old stomping grounds. Used to ride my horse along the American river in Carmichael and Fair Oaks. Thanks for the video. Enjoyed it.
@@mokpot Been so many years since I have been back there. At least 33 years. Believe me I really enjoy riding the mountains of Idaho so much better. No more horses , mules or cows to ride now. LOL, Cow riding, not Bull riding in the rodeo? Absolutely loved the cow video, thank you, I entertained my friend in the office across the hall with all the bawling cows, so much fun! Beautiful artwork Chris!, Stones, beads, and glass?
I think it's funny that it's not an official dive until you find a golfball. I find them regularly here too. One outing I found three golfballs, a 4 Iron Golf Club and to really make me scratch my head.........I picked up a pool cue. Enjoyed the outing. Thanks for taking me with.
Love the glass with your logo, I'd love it if you'd decide to start selling your logo on stuff. At the beginning you said you like being under water, me too. I don't scuba but I love to snorkel and there is something magical being under water...just love it. Thanks for sharing your dive.
Fun dive! More friendly fish. I don't know why, but I always though of Bass as lurking around not doing very "fishie things". Those were bright and healthy looking. Hood River Oregon is in my neck of the woods! Thanks for taking us diving!
I can remember as a kid getting my first mask and snorkel (fins came later). Couldn't go too far out in the ocean but I was amazed at what I saw. Take care........
Well, you shouldn't be seeing that pair anymore unless I forget my good pair, the palm section is falling apart so I retired them. As always Don, great to hear from you.
Hi Chuck, everything I pick up is trash. I am limited in what I can safely carry, especially in really high current like these. Thanks for the question and for tuning in.
So cool ! I liked when you came up to the surface, gives us an idea of the area you’re diving in ! Good advise about folks recording their contact info . Looking forward to your next video 👍
I live in sac near the American river. I see people on here diving all the time and I am really interested in learning. I however have to save up to do so lol.
6:00 Perhaps take a roll of cheap 13 gallon kitchen trash bags with you, put a bunch of bottles n trash in a walmart bag, clip on a new bag from the roll, fill it with exhaust, send it to the surface. Maybe with a note that says, "Please throw me in a trash can".
I was thinking of of I ever have a go-pro; the first thing said on my videos would be who I was and how to contact me if every I should lose it 👍 I've seen so many be found by various river and lake treasure hunters now that I'd be crazy not to have it prepared ahead of time. I knew when I saw the golfball that the dive had been classified as official ☺ Finally some sunglasses, that first black necklace is a prayer necklace used by Catholics 🙏 Man that current was knocking you around different times 😳 great video 😀
Croc lures are one of the best all time lures .Around 20 bucks plus depending on size . Retired from fishing but really enjoy the fish /strippers ...thanks much
When I was young, 1970, we would jump off the Watt Ave bridge into the American River, until I hit a rock hard with my shoulder. Could have been my head, so stopped that. It is a 70' drop into the river. But kids, well they live forever.
I could and on occasion do, but the channel is not about that. Also I do my wrap up videos at home for the most part and I dump the trashy trash as soon as possible if there are trash cans available. Everything I remove is trash.
mokpot The boat ramp behind Redding rodeo grounds, which is just north of Sundial bridge. Downstream to the Cypress bridge. Lots of boaters (fishing, canoes, kayaks, SUP, tubers and rafts) in that stretch. There is also a company that does rafting from Redding to Anderson river park.
Hi James... the currents are very unpredictable here, and there are a ton of snags. I would not be diving here without my dpv. It 4 years ago it was a different site, now every year it becomes more unpredictable and dangerous.
Hey bro if you find any sunglasses that are are cheap polarized and fit a big head please send them. To me instead of throwing them away. Thanks bro and I enjoy the watching your dives
Hold on, you're cruising around with a $6,000 DPV, but cant get some new gloves? C'mon man! Lol just giving you a hard time Mokpot! Thanks for sharing the video, I look forward to seeing your latest dive every week on my day off!
Hi Mokpot, great idea about putting a file on the gopro. Never thought of that. Hey was it my imagination or was the current a lot stronger than past dives? Our club is doing a drift dive from the prison. I'm wondering if maybe we should only have experienced river divers make the dive this year? Gordon
The current is MUCH stronger and shifts around more. I saw two other divers at this location yesterday, When I began my dive I decided that if I did not have my DPV I would abort the dive. 3 years ago and each year since this spot has changed, getting more dangerous
Hey Gordon, I reread your first comment. My advice is to not drift dive on scuba in anything approaching a current that you can not swim against and win. You can end up pinned against rocks or submerged trees very easily. A buddy in these circumstances is a risk rather than an asset, and there is really nothing you can do to help if this occurs, as you will be swept passed them. As a free diver you are on the surface most of the time and can see what is coming, bends in the river, rocks, etc. On SCUBA you see it just feet away and coming on fast. I did a drift dive down a portion of the American, once, never again! When you see me in the currents, seeming to drift, it is only after motoring up stream exploring for hazards first, and this only after walking the route first. I hope this helps. Mark
@@mokpot yes, we went as a group last year. About 15 of us (dolphin divers) launched by boat from negro bar and entered the water up by the prison. It was a great dive.
