I miss you guys :(
thank you Bradford and Deerhunter for not wasting a single day. this track saving my life in my cubicle right now.
yes dear, save us of the Disney radio XD
+chad sardashti yuzzzz cuzzzz thinking of you as I listened, lo and behold
Dude, get out of that cubicle!
+chad sardashti smash the dominant cubicle
Hang on there my man...Make the most when not there!
I can't begin to describe the kind of mood this song puts me in - it's like I get to go back into childhood but with everything I know now, too
It's nice seeing Bradford Cox looking healthier these days . Can't wait for the album to drop.
this is a great song. i just love the dreamy qualities of it. plus, to have bradford and lockett sing together just makes it even more special as i love their other projects. deerhunter is a band i'm proud of as i've seen them 3 times and the fact that they're from my home city of atlanta just makes it cooler. i hope see them again.
Glorious sound, bigger, clearer, more uplifting, brighter, yet still somewhat morose, aka still Deerhunter. So proud of my boys, this release is gonna be their biggest to date, and they deserve all the accolades they receive. A band of musicians grow with time and if they are artists, so does the music. It's a mature sound. Big credit goes to producer Ben Allen for instinctively knowing what Bradford and Co. were trying to achieve, and then taking them there. And the duet I'm sure will not be the last. Perfect blend of harmonies and layering guitar effects. Deerhunter4lyfe!!!
+lll lll merzbro
I think it's amazing. They're growing and evolving and yet they're still producing the same dreamy, melancholic sounds as before.
+ifilmbands Totally agree.
Guessing you'll maybe be filming them at one of their shows in January?
Yes, as I have for the past 9 years or so. Nice Dodos footy!
I just discovered Deerhunter this week. Is this the best indie time of the past 20 years?? I think so.
You're in for a treat :) Don't forget to listen to Double Dream of Spring and Weird Era Cont.
@@Knifymolokoheheh I listened to everything now, still going on repeat!
@LeoDoused yep you’re right! I pretty much listen to every album on repeat lol. Looking to find rare cassettes too. The Platts Live is amazing.
Best indie band of the decade. Thank you deerhunter
Everything Lockett touches turnes to gold! Love this guy!
They sound like little baby angels with those gorgeous harmonies
My brain went from a banal Tuesday morning in mid-September to a magical Christmas morning in December within an instant of hitting play. This is some sort of magic only Deerhunter is capable of.
+8hobo8 Me too bro... me too
There are other bands that can invoke similar feelings with apparent ease, but yes - the ability is very rare, and it should be cherished for eternity.
What a perfect song. Bradford and Lockett sound gorgeous together... can't wait for the album to drop
I listen to this album for a whole year straight! This band is awesome! Please hurry up with the new album!
I can-t even begin to explain how much I love this band.
Been following & supporting Deerhunter ever since the start & its been wonderful to see them make noise, sounds to music, songs & now bradford cox & co. are huge emotional success in my book braugth some good feelings of remembrance in this new album from what i heard so far ,none the less excited for when it hits....keep running DeerHunter.
I can't believe its been seven years since this came out!!
every time bradford cox grins an angel gets its wings
lockett and cox duet great stuff
Lockett is an amazing artist. Everyone listen to Lotus Plaza 🥰
One of my fav bands. I bought him a beer and chatted him up when I saw his band on the Spooky tour. He is a really nice and funny dude.
Deerhunter make me so full of joy.
how is this band STILL getting better? it's just insane how good they are.
I just noticed this in the descript:

It makes me so happy that Bradford is an artist in so many ways. he's a beautiful creature.
Melody, what a melody... And the vocals are so sweet.
deerhunter means so much to me, i dream about the upcoming tour, literally. had a dream bradford pointed at me in the audience. this album is gonna be so so great.
Tfw they haven't announced an Australian tour :(
+Protect The BasedGod looks like we have a visitor from /mu/
Unbelievable song! This might be their best work in my opinion. Wow mind blowing.
Deerhunter was always beyond indie. Along with Ariel Pink and a few others, they are really the only ones that make me play their albums again and again. They're taking the pop song with real style, into something new.
amazing song - love that chorus. it's like 90's alt meets Tom Petty. it opens up so nicely from the verse too. just a great sonic shift. Well done!
+Derek Sheehan (Weekender) well said!
Never thought about it that way, but you're totally right.
Great comment about a great bridge between last century and today. I heard a little Tom Petty as well and that is never a bad thing.
I know the name (Tom Petty) but have never knowingly heard any of his music, where’s a good place to start?
This song brightened up my day. Already stuck in my head after the first listen.
Fabulous.
I'm 31 now, but this is a song that cemented my prime half a decade ago. Fuuuuck I hate how time flies....
32 here. We thirty-somethings are all still very well in our prime. This song still hits just the same as when I heard it first back in 2015. :)
Wonderful, melodic harmonies. Love this song, heard it today
on a station out of Leander TX although I am closer to Austin.
I love Deerhunter. I hope they tour the U.S. again soon...
I think this album will be huge, really huge.
Wow. Just finished listening to Fading Frontier. Really good.
Essa serenidade é simplesmente incrível!
Can't wait for a new record! Mad love to you Deerhunter!
Love this song. It gets stuck in my head for hours.
Lovely; very much looking forward to this album. I'm glad Lockett and Bradford have managed to keep the fog at bay.
this record has been making me feel positively alive.
Dat chorus, man! Beautiful!
That hook though.
This is gonna be so wonderful to see live.
I listened to this song a lot after my dad died.. Their music always has a sad twinge to me now even though it's so beautiful
best scene in oitnb and song ...we all have a crazy side !
I FREAKING LOVE DEERHUNTER!!!!
They never disappoint. Going to see them play in a few hours. Hope to hear "..there was, no sound"
Just a perfect pop song making your day brighter. No need to speak about it.
Judging by the first two songs they've shared, this album is going to be new, amazing ground for Deerhunter.
so happy oitnb had this song! i love this song
Seeing them in Atlanta in January!!!
I'm gonna say it now, this song is going to be huge.
What are you talking about? That's a little unfair.
+Matt Lawton what do you mean unfair? This song has everything a good single from the underground needs to filter into what is now popular indie rock. They established themselves at being able to write brilliant pop songs with Halcyon Digest but this new sound will take them higher than that I feel.
Bradford looks so much healthier. So good! Great album too.
This was a nice surprise in the morning. Way more polished than some of their previous stuff. It's fucking contagious. Catchy.
Some of my favorite bands have put out new music this year. So many spoils.
what are your favorite bands?
So excited for Fading Frontier
oh lockett... dreamy as ever
BRASIL HERE! THANK U BRADFORD!
Bradford is great, yes, but Lockett really knows his way around a guitar. Like seriously.
"Orange Is The New Black" brought me here as if they knew that I've been listening to 4AD since the 80's ;-) Great track
beautiful.
this makes me feel tender :(
Sweet song, so happy to see they're back 🙌
How crazy this song heard in OITNB❤ ONly caught the first cpl of chords but i got it !!!total goosebumps 🕊❤️🙏
Wooh Hoo really love this band
This is so, so, so killer. Luv it.
They're so cool and uplifting man
This is great. I wasn't so hot on Snakeskin but this track has got me really excited for the album.
Great album, this, Carrion, and Ad Astra are the best tracks.
gorgeous!
love the bass on this. Chill
Love it!! Glad to hear they're doing something different. That chorus is glorious! Teenage Fanclub-esque. :)
just so special
Bassline!
Amazing!
Naturally people are going to whine about it not being sonically adventurous, noisy, or punk enough but they don't understand how artistry works. Good and genuine artists are making music for who they are at that time in the world and space they currently occupy. They can't make the same music they've made before and while some try they just can't come close and it ends up sounding somewhat empty and tired. If you want a sound you've already heard before then go listen to their old music and if you want something similar find other bands who are doing more sonically adventurous, noisy, and ambient rock.
Don't complain about artists who continue to evolve and create unique music, they don't make music to appease you and your personal taste. They're expressing themselves and if you don't appreciate it then move on. I think this is a beautiful song that shines but with a very deprecating and affirming message about living and how it amounts to nothing but we keep on pushing forward because it's either that or die. It holds so much below the surface and it really speaks to the power of will and the forces that try to break us. Listen deeper and you might understand what is being expressed.
+Michael Milburn best youtube comment ever??
Thanks this is a good summary of how i feel not just about this, but music in general. Music is about the association of feelings and ideas. Ultimately it's about expressing those within the medium of music.
I agree, largely, but this is most definitely sonically adventurous
+Michael Milburn It doesn't matter what kind of art it is, be it music, paintings, film, etc. Art appreciation is subjective. There will always be fans and there will always be critics.
@KissaMeow That doesn't really say anything I didn't already know, my issue is with people who want artists to fit their mold and write music that's already been written when Its up to them what they write and express. I'm not saying everyone should like it but they should mature and understand that artists don't need to conform to their personal wants. It's just about being more objective if possible.
people don't even know what they want also, i mean if they sounded the same people would complain they sound the same, liking and not liking something to a human mind although some rules are followed can be as chaotic and seemingly disorganized as the decisions to or the success of repeating a same sound or even desiring to continue making a similar sound as previously. in other words the one and only truth ever is it is what it is. you can try to go and ask yourself why it is this way but that just leads to another question and another and another and you can pull that thread till it circles back around if you like.
great work
Whoa! This is excellent.
Perfect !
great hook!
Beautiful song, has tinges of late 80's, early 90's alternative rock/pop in the vein of maybe REM or Michael Penn. Lyrically it makes me think about the millenial generation, we're duplicating content online, less religious than previous generations, more fluid, less bound to company loyalty etc ("I don't credit a source/I just drive") and there's a sense of being lost and confused by the course of history ("the fog rolls in"). There's irony in the "and then they're blind", as fog blindness happens when your lights reflect off fog banks, so the very act of trying to search, trying to see through the mystery leaves you even more lost. Always love how Deerhunter can chillingly convey abstract feelings, and they've done it again with this one. Fantastic.
Genius, as usual.
currents, honeybear, pimp a butterfly and this were my favourite of 2015.
Love this song
Great stuff
very 60s/70s sound to this rock band. first song I have ever heard from them. I'm already loving it though.
Album in my collection, thanks much for vid.
i love deerhunter
Good track!
Brilliant!
You say accessible, I say evolutionary. ❤️
Damn this is awesome glad to see our sweet prince seem's to be doing well again :)
Should be the most popular band in the world.
Pretty timeless by this point
That guitar riff is great
Awesome!
Perfect pop song
i look up to Bradford in a musical way, he's a pretty cool guy
I bumped into Lockett one time. He was a really nice guy. We talked about music and it just kept getting more fun for us having a great conversation about music, bands all sorts. Lockett makes a great Mentor to meet as a unique Invy guitarist
I love their music because I love the vocal range of Bradford and his intimate lyrics and they always knew how to mantain the rhythm and harmony but it sounds too soft, very easy listening category. I like it though I expected it more from them. I heard Lotus plaza albums and I loved them too. I'll wait till the album comes out to see the final result.
I love this video.
I love this.
Yup!!
