Hello Johnny! Hope you’re doing well. Sorry to hear that Air Canada had to delay flights. I remember when my family and I were travelling from Toronto to Frankfurt, my Air Canada flight at Toronto Pearson airport got delayed for at least 3 hours which kinda sucks.
Thanks for taking us along for the ride to experience the joys of flying Air Canada. What a stressful thing to go through. After all that, now you can relax in Bangkok and on your island. Try not to drink too much! 😅🍹🌴
How beatiful Toronto's stations are compared to New York stations! Toronto also has a funtioning one-seat-ride train access to the airport from the downtown!
The only thing is that it's not always convenient or even practical depending on where you are in the city. There are many instances where it's actually better to use the regular transit because the difference in travel time can be minimal depending on where you are starting. Not to mention it's considerably more expensive - seeing as it's a standard transit fare to go to the airport using regular TTC service, and it's actually a very quick ride from Kipling to the airport. The time savings of UP Express also diminishes if you are using Terminal 3 because you then have to take the tram, while the TTC express bus from Kipling serves T3.
@@LiamWalsheliamskitchen Yes, I didn't take UPX from downtown to the Airport. For me, it was streetcar, subway, express bus. And from: Airport train, UPX to Dundas, Line 2, bus.
I love watching this video it’s very informative. And I like when you travel to different places around the world Johnny, it makes me so happy! Keep up the good work!🤗

Do the airplanes that Eva Air or Cathay Pacific use have magical powers that make them immune to the weather conditions that cause delays for all of the other airplanes flying in and out of Toronto? What if the Cathay flight to HKG was delayed because the plane was experiencing a problem with one of its engines but the Air Canada flight to HKG departed on time? Would the delay to the Cathay flight somehow be Air Canada's fault? Should everyone on the now delayed Cathay flight have booked with Air Canada in advance to avoid the Cathay delays that everybody knew was going to happen when they booked their tickets three months in advance?
Johnny you had me going there for a moment when you said it was Thursday January 28th. I was looking at my calendar trying to see if I was going blind or had the wrong calendar up until you made the correction.
That's wonderful you made it and Air Canada was able to re-route you there. Winter weather and congestion at Pearson airport can make travelling difficult.
Thank you guys for sharing your trip. You are right when you can get to the airport early early itvis best to use your airline membershipscin the lounges to relax, shower and have a meal ir two with wine ir champagne.😊😊 And Happy Belated Birthday to your friend here!!🎉🎉🥂 😊
That was good to just sit down after taking the stairs at the Toronto International Airport. Free meals and beer, wine or champagne and a good relaxing seat!!! Yes, yes and yes, worth it!!😊😊
I see you two were back in Economy Class after that whole initial situation but did the both if you use your points to have Business Class or Premium Economy seats to Amsterdam?😮

Wow!! Those long-haul trips are nit goid in Economy way back!! And you just got put next to a family with kids!! Wow!! And you two did use ypur points when back in Toronto where the initial crap was happening from!!! Well, I do love the 777s and I have flown to Europe on a few back it has been nice for me with no one next to me in the window seat. And I had picked a few cities where the flight were half full. But since then it has been using points for upgrades and original reservations.😊
That Air Canada rebooked you on a KLM flight (not Star Alliance) is pretty good. But you may not get FF points on it. The Canadian Passenger Rights requires airline to rebook you on any other airline if possible and if it cannot get you there within reasonable time of original ticket. So this is why AC booked you on that route without you having to fight. Imagine the staff they have to indidually rebook everyone who misses flights. internally what happens is that AC buys you a ticket on a KLM flight but pays interline rates (wholesale between airlines). So AC would have dished out actual money to KLM for you (but much less than you would have paid). At Vacouver, they replaced you with extra cargo in the hold since less weight in main deck so may not have lost that much money.
But Air Canada didn't rebook them on KLM based on the video; they're flying on the YYZ-AMS route operated by AC. Also they wouldn't have been "replaced" with "extra cargo" in the hold in YVR; airlines do fly out with missed/busted connecting passengers. You can't just "add" cargo last minute.
The second leg from Amsterdam to Bangkok was on a KLM flight. And yes, airlines almost always add last minute cargo if they can. Once passengers counted amd baggage weighted, if there is spare weight capacity they always have spare cargo (generally mail) waiting and ready to be loaded. @@cannabisprime2859
@@cannabisprime2859 The YYZ-AMS flight on Air Canada was only half the journey. The second flight was indeed a KLM flight from AMS-BKK. The ticket with AC was a contract to transport the passenger from YYZ to BKK, so AC was responsible for getting him to Bangkok whether via YVR on its own services or else via Europe in combination with another airline. What was surprising as @jfmezei noted, was that AC put him on KLM and not on a partner airline. Through the Star Alliance, AC would have loads of ways to get a passenger to BKK via Europe, so it is a little unusual that they chose a SkyTeam carrier (KLM is normally a preferred partner of WestJet, not Air Canada).
Also not surprised by this. I flew AC 3 times in 2023 every single flight leaving Toronto was at least an hour late. Most of the return flights were on time. Also have you tried airlo eSIM?

I don't recall AC being this bad years ago. They were known to be on time. The best thing to do prior to going on a very long flight is to walk around until you board, it helps a lot when it comes to sitting so long on the plane. I walked around in Int'l Departures which is a very boring area when AC was delayed 3 hours and they blamed it on mechanical issues to avoid paying the penalties. I flew business on AC last year to Europe and it was nice, I see you in economy and I said to myself NOOOO I Can't fly economy Again!!! those seats are horrible!!
I have said before on your city walks that Toronto has changed. I have not been to Pearson since 1990 and low and behold it changed, who would have guessed.
If you are flying to Bangkok again from Toronto, take emirates. 12 hours to Dubai and about 6 to Bangkok. They are usually always on time from Toronto.
Basically, every airline does the same thing... No airline likes leaving their plane at other airports, so they all prefer having quick turnaround times. Toronto is those airlines' turnaround. But it isn't necessarily true for Air Canada at YYZ, especially as sometimes they relocate their planes from their usual turnaround routines - especially Toronto-Vancouver, Toronto-Ottawa, and Toronto-Montréal, where they often seem to be queued with block times that the controller wants with other planes from other airlines that also get the same.
Klm was fine for me, ok i dont have a lot of experience in flights, but i don't see how they could do better ( more space ?), but food ok and drink and kindness of personal etc.
Doesn't make sense because AC 65 leaves Thursday , 22:52 , January 25, 2024 . Diverts back to Vancouver for a scheduled landing on January 27, 2024 at 6:10 am. After flying in circles ???
After launch, the 787 designed for 8 across seating did not sell well. Air India and Air canada placed higed orders after Boeing pitched it with narrower seats with 9 across and the plane became a huge success because airline accountants could pack another 30 passengers in. Then, with airlines waning more capacity but the 747 being dead, Boeing did the same with the 777, It was originally design for 9 across seating with wide seats (competing ahgainst the old DC-10s it was meant t replace and against the A340 for long haul). So Boeing pitch the 777 for 10 across and most airline accountants went for it, including KLM and Air Canada. The 777's 10 across seating has roughly the same width in coach as the 787 with 9 across seating. Japan Airline did put 8 across on its 787s for many long haul, and I think Turkish still has 9 across on its 777s. The 747, 380, 330 and even the A321 now have wider seats than those 777s, 787s meant to do long haul flights.
Talk about a monster journey, glad everything worked out! Now I'm just curious if the points for the KLM flight will map to Aeroplan because Air Canada booked it, or to Flying Blue. Cheers!
Actually, you can do Ottawa to Bangkok via Paris now. And that's the easy and better way in that direction. But the other direction, better to cross the Pacific.
I would like to go to Amsterdam and Bangkok one day. One European city and Asian one, I heard Dutch speak English as their 2nd language, UK English speaking.

Not surprised this happened. Flew AC three times in 2023. One flight cancelled. One flight delayed 5 hours due to toilet issues. One flight (surprised) on time! All my friends and relatives around the world had issues with them. They have become talk in my circle! On my delayed 5 hours flight YYZ to LHR, the seat was so tight. Can’t sleep. Can’t eat. Can’t watch movie. Next morning they threw banana bread breakfast at us! Then flew QATAR LHR to BKK. What a difference. 180 degrees from AC. It is probably cheaper you book separate tickets from YYZ to LHR and LHR to BKK on one of the better middle eastern airlines! Instead of “You and I are met to fly”, AC’s theme song should be “Let’s Get it Up”.
It is a dual voltage alternating current electrical receptacle. If you have a North American non-grounded 115 volt plug, you would insert the two flat blades of the plug into the narrow, rectangular ports. If you have a European/South American non-grounded 220 volt plug, you would insert the two round pins into the round ports. If you are from Japan, you might be out of luck.
I uh somehow can not fell sleep whenever I fly westerly especially to south korea of my home country due to each time zone passes that is a same time so!.
AC was one of the best airlines to fly back in the days,it turned to shit in the early 90's..a friend i grew up with(RIP) trained all the flight attendants back in the late 60's to late 70's...AC Rouge is even worst..
The "Air Canada chaos" you supposedly encountered on Jan 25 while making this video is not something that was unique to Air Canada on the day of your travels. From what I observed from your video, Pearson was not that chaotic. Quite mild, actually, compared to what I have experienced on certain travel days in the past. All airlines operating out of Pearson that day were experiencing delays and/or cancelations due to factors beyond the control of the airlines, namely THE WEATHER. Low visibility forced a reduction in the airport's hourly landing/departure capacity. This happens from time to time at all airports and it is something that experienced travelers plan for, especially at busier Canadian airports during the winter.
Check the flight logs again, it was mostly Air Canada canceling and delaying flights. The weather was fine that day... I received over 6 different boarding passes in a few hours so if that's not "chaos" than you have no idea what you're talking about.
You know Johnny is tired when he says that he " will continue"....Love these vids, thank you for enduring this for us ...Safe travels as always.

43:03. what does that marking means.. 220Volts and 115 volts? the output is 220 or 115?
It is a dual voltage alternating current electrical receptacle. If you have a North American non-grounded 115 volt plug, you would insert the two flat blades of the plug into the narrow, rectangular ports. If you have a European/South American non-grounded 220 volt plug, you would insert the two round pins into the round ports. If you are from Japan, you might be out of luck.
That’s why we call it Scare Canada

europe... what do you expect right? :)
I uh somehow can not fell sleep whenever I fly westerly especially to south korea of my home country due to each time zone passes that is a same time so!.
Air Canada? 😂 Lol oh no.. never fly that awful airline. It's one of the worst rated in the world. Always avoid a Canadian airline if you can.
AC was one of the best airlines to fly back in the days,it turned to shit in the early 90's..a friend i grew up with(RIP) trained all the flight attendants back in the late 60's to late 70's...AC Rouge is even worst..
❤
Both Air Canada and KLM bathrooms look awful.
One of the times that I'm happy to be an American with many flight options. Air Canada sucks.
I love your videos, but I'm limited on some of them because you don't have closed captioning on. Like on this one. So I miss MOST of your audio....
Things go according to Air Canada's unofficial slogan.
KLM is the national airline of the Netherlands, and at the same time, together with Air France, the two worst airlines in Europe!
lol
A $15 voucher at YYZ will get you virtually nothing.
It got me a few donuts, a coffee and 2 bottles of water lol
OMG air canada has become such a joke.
Too long with all the airport runing . Not informative... But well always happy landing
I'd watch Josh Cahill and Noel Phillips if you're into more informative flight videos. Mine are mostly just walking from point A to B.
I still have a lot of money invested in Air Canada stocks
