- This is my first content. I like this band and I tried to play this song really fast. It's hard.
I hope you respect my art.
:-)
Shout out to Danica Pinner for helping me film this.
Recorded on a custom Fender 70's Music Master with a Noble DI/Preamp and a Cali 76 Compressor in Abelton 9.
Perfect, I was in a hurry and didn't have enough time to listen to the original
Yes, this was an incredible time saver. But now I can't stop speed walking.
😂😂😂😂
x0.25 thanks me laten. (?)
Please, play it 2x faster (2x faster than this), so poor men can listen it on any streaming service's as free one-mintute preview
thanks for the laugh. needed it 🤣
This is quality youtubes. Much shred. Enjoy lots.
Adam Neely hahaha you’re the best
where's this week's video bro (jk)
I found this through your liked vids and boy am I glad
Adam Neely brought me here.
I agree but why is it on the q&a playlist Adam?
You have incredible talent. Will you be our bassist?
Y'all are so funny, you could never get him sheese. Seriously tho thank you Nataly & Jack for introducing him to me.
Hahaha, definitely.
Cute
Maybe you should play keys for Nick, makes it way simpler...i feel the love in the air
I knew I've seen this guy somewhere 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Waiting patiently for Joe Dart Destroys Adam Neely Destroys Deantown by Vulfpeck
It definitely could happen
guitarchitectural totally just waiting for Joe Dart himself to comment after Adam and Pomplamoose lol
So patiently waiting
Joe dart is impotent one trick pony! Period
This is so fake! He obviously played the song four times as fast as the original and slowed it down to half speed.
Hahaha! I had to read your comment at half speed before I realized there was no diss here.
It’s as fast as the original at 0.75 speed.
🤣
If yOu CaN pLAy iT slOw yoU CAn PLay IT fASt!
AMAZING
ah i see youre a man of culture as well
sacrilege
except here he's absolutely killing it even when slowed =P
Amazing indeed
I dropped a tear for this unique moment: Vulfpeck, Adam Neely, and TwoSet Violin coming together. The internet is amazing.
At 0.75x speed the real vulf compressor kicks in
That's literally the original speed 😅
@@onelonelyginger9153 a little slower
this is a great comment.
Like, there was literally no need to flex on us that hard
Disqualified. The song is easy. It's the neck choreography I came for. I'm disappointed.
Amrit Mehta being disappointed is kind of the whole point.
What is neck choreography?
@@contra31 Watch a vulfpeck video. Pay attention to Joe Dart's neck (The bassist)
that bass face tho
I agree. The neck is pretty static, although the funky facial expressions more than make up for it.
No more government subsidies for active basses
It really does go!
What does the volume knob do?
@@MostLikelyMortal Some people might say, where is the active EQ, this bass is not versatile. YOU'RE NOT VERSATILE.
@@dxyzstudios2144 Do you think Vlance Armstrangth is shifting into the active bass-boost granny gear in the French Alps? No!
@@guessingguy7865 this is a 1982 single-speed bridgestone; you're eating 4 pounds of white flour pasta a night, just put in the work!
Its so funky and low volume
Jeff Jeff I’ll take upvoted misquotes for 500, Alex
Man this still pops at 0.75x
IN 0.75x you realize how in time this guys is playing...
@@arthurreckelberg6578 I had quite the opposite realization. The intro is incredibly off time. Not saying what he's trying to do is easy, just saying the final result is, in my opinion, a different definition of "destroy" than intended.
@@bradoliver9324 understand! I don't agree with you, for me is in time (maybe not on the grid, but in time)! respect your consideration and thanks for commenting!!
You're the type of bass player I would love to be. Always tasteful for the artist you're supporting, but with killer chops held in reserve!
Dang, I really appreciate that.
And it is NOTE 4 NOTE
Holy guacamole, that's so nasty funky I had to reapply my deodorant.
Thank you for the entertainment; quality level 10/10.
played this at 0.75.. he's very accurate on every beat, and also his vibrato was smooth.. awesome playing. Bravo
0.5* speed is an experience.
Except the first part is hardly consistent. Yeah, the rest is cool.
I feel like he is rushing a bit... maybe it’s just me
zachary ustinovich I know, but I’m talking about stability, not velocity
@@charleslambert3368 conversely 2x is... something
I don’t know why this is on Adam Neely QnA playlist, but I love it.
Yeah I came here the same way wtf
Adam recently played in one of Scary Pockets videos, which Nick does too quite a lot of times :)
This is so funny. Sounds exactly like the sped-up version at the end of the official video of Vulfpeck's "'Beastly". That is really good, and can't imagine how tiring this must be to play so fast!
Fabian Van Der Elst haha exactly!
You know he's serious because he has the cover of a record that doesn't have a bass player on it on his wall.
chris fraser wait what is it?
Flo Unity by Larry Young
nubuck ! Ok 👌 thanks
If you don't count Larry's feet
Man the middle part where you improvised was so slick
Squarepusher vibes anyone? Mad respect to this guy
As a bassist, this absolutely inspires me to improve my skills!! Cheers
I like Nick Campbell from Scary Pockets he is very good at the bass
I am truly impressed. Would you go 5 to 10 bpm slower and play it perfectly clean for absolute destruction?
His wife must love his fingers
hahahahahahaha
I'm amazed by your talent !
Love the work you do with Pomplamoose, your basslines are just gorgeous !!
You don't need to shred, to me, you already got these crazy moves and high level musicality.
Keep grooving and sharing your good vibes !
Take care.
PS : Cali comp + Noble DI seem to be great partners of crime...
I like how theres comments trying to start beef and taking this was too seriously.
Had to put my phone down while I watched this because my hand started cramping
My ovaries just exploded. And I'm a grownass man.
My bass just slapped me and walked out of the room...
I always make the face on the F# as well haha. Nice one man, you finger really good!
Could you tell us a bit more about this bass? Is it a Music Master guitar modded to be a bass or? Love the tones you get from it and it seems very playable! Or is it a Music Master bass with new pickups, and if so what are they? Very cool instrument
This was nearly as smooth as Shrek's Hot Sludge Sundae.
Sweet lord, man.
Fuuuuuuuck. My forearm tendon's burn just watching that.
So let me get this straight: if I lose 4" off my scale length I'll be able to play 50bpm faster?
Absolutely incredible playing btw :)
Why not play it 10bpm slower and actually be in the pocket
holy shit dude congrats on winning all the ladies
I literally have nothing to say. This guy is insane. All of the rhythms were on beat and he didn't miss a single note. All the fills were literally perfect. That was amazing. Especially because I love vulfpeck and Joe dart is an amazing bass player this guy had me speechless
😂😂 this guy also has one mean bass face hahahaha
Hey didn't you play with them at the launch party with the purple yams? Either way really nice version of the song man! You groove!
Thanks, man! yeah, I totally did. I did that with my band, Shrek Is Love. I've been buddies with all the Vulf guys for a while. They're the best.
OMG ITS THE FU FU FU FUNKY DUCK 🦆
listening to this at 75% speed, anything lower than the A string sounds terrifying
i bet he can do 2 finger pullups
This is a fucking bop holy shit
I don't see the point of playing this song even faster... Incredible skills but you loose all the feeling...
That's just a funny shredding challenge
faster doesn't mean better
Essa eu vou comentar até em Português!!!! Vai se lascar mizerento, desgramado!!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣.... GENIUSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
Does any one know what particular model of fender bass that is? it looks like a really short scale?
NWmariani it’s a music master from the 70’s
Great player. that NickNick. Short scale bass don't hurt the cause, neither ;-)
1:32 the S T A N K
With... facts and logic?
not a bassist myself (drummer) but i really appreciate this - quality playing man
Must have ate his pasta ....4lbs I'd say?
Just putting in the work !
Saw you with Pompe la mouse (french joke), amazing sound and groove man, love it ! Looking forward to see what you post on your channel !
Thanks so much, man!
I was quite impressed since I left my YT player on 1.25 playback speed. Went back to normal speed, still impressed. You're a sir. _hat tip_
if you slow vid down to 0.75 it exposes the lack of tightness.
Lol the only thing it exposes is that its extremely accurate for the speed his playing at... name someone who can do it better than him, with the same song...
Oh you can't cause his the first one to do it? Boo hoo, so cry, much sad. Go listen to some vulfpeck and calm yourself bruh.
You actually, seriously used "exposes" like it was some kind of conspiracy hahaha😂😂😂 man I love youtube. This shit never gets old
Have a great day👍✌👏🙌
You're from Mars. Incredible!!! Congratulatios!!!
"Dad, why is my sister's name *Rose* ?"
"Because your mother loves roses"
"Thanks Dad"
"You're welcome *Nick Campbell Destroys Dean Town By Vulfpeck (Except It's Like 50bpm faster)* "
If you try a little harder you probably could squeeze in another 25bpm extra, that’s so amazingly effortless. You are my hero.
That right hand was smokin’! 💥
I think you were successful. :) This is a lesson in right hand and left hand dexterity for me. Maybe in a year, I will be nimble enough to attempt this. Thanks for posting! You're an amazing player to learn from and listen to.
What are some of the aspects that make the consistent 16ths possible for the right hand?
Does the bridge pickup as an anchoring support for his thumb make it easier?
Does the short scale help?
I’m working on a standard p-bass and developing this endurance and speed seems incredibly difficult.
Ok I'm 4 seconds in and WHAT???!!! That right hand fingering is ridiculously fast
Joe Dart is a god. Nobody but the great Woody Goss should be allowed to play Joe’s baselines. Leave Vulfpeck to Vulfpeck.
regarding UMG and Utube "take-downs" can you explain why it happens to you, and, say, rick b, yet the "reaction" videos play huge numbers of song videos? how many reactors showed Disturbed's sounds of silence? confused here..
I was like - ah, i forgot to switch playback speed back again, as im normally watching podcasts and interviews with 1.5 speed. But here the speed was fine... Catergory: sport
awesome
You are my hero man! I'm falling crazy with you when I see you playing with Pomplamoose. Respect! Cheers from Spain!
wtf... 😳 I can play this tune like 30 bpm slower than original and this guy plays 50 bpm faster. Have you got rocket fingers?
Nice vid, you got some chops in a big way man! I doubt it would be much of a challenge for you but try some of Mark Sandman s stuff. None of the other you tube bassists have touched it. It's pretty diffrent music, jazzy in a big way.
Well done Nick 👏
0.75x speed is closest to the original speed. This cover is fucking awesome
Just listened at 2x speed. Now I can see the flapping of hummingbirds wings and through the fire and flames sounds like acdc wrote it. Please send help.
Jaco would be proud of you...you are really a good bassist
Marcus Lambert thanks so much!
0:39 this is actually easier than I thought
0:45 oh jooooooooooooooooy
1:20 this is actually one of the most insane parts of the video.... THIS MAN IS LOCKED ON THE TEMPO
Nick Campbell Destroys Dean Town by Vulfpeck (But the scale length is 4 inches shorter)
Lots of comments about your playing (which is obvious since you play so very very well) but the highlight for me were those stanky funk faces. Respect.
Is art just doing fast covers? Come on! Perfect technique but nothing more. U just destroied my balls.
Thank God this guy is only interested in bass domination.
If it was world domination, we'd all be well and truly fucked.
When you've timed your bank robbery for the original, but the laxatives kick in :(
Yoooo lookin great! Bring back Slinky!
This is either like,..l quit,...or maybe work harder x
Nice job ! Couldn't resist to try speed play 1.25 ^^
Amazing show of skill. But at 0.75x speed it sounds like a bad cover of the original and I think that's very funny
When you have to continually make sure you're not on 1.25x speed...
Proving perfectly, if proof were needed, that speed isn't everything.
How the actual fuck. It’s already so fast at normal speed. I really don’t understand how someone’s fingers can pluck so quickly
I'm not sure it adds much artistically to the song, but it is an amazing demonstration of some awesomely supernatural bass skills. Maybe next time someone can play the lamp like a high hat.
Watch it in 1.25x speed and it’s way more impressive
Nothing could stop Nick’s rampage through Dean Town. There were no survivors
Awesome playing! And the bass face game is also entirely on point.
please pass that extra 50... i'm having trouble with just 85 :(
Time to cut down on the energy drinks :P Nah, just shitting you; amazing bassplay \m/
That’s kinda nuts. Just stumbled on it. Happily . .
Sheesh. had to check my playback speed make sure i wasnt on 2x lol. Crazy good man
...checks the playback speed.... nope, I'm on normal. hmm
I thought I had the video speed to 1.5x! Mind blowing dude.
Epic! What the heck is this white pickup on the Fender?
Funny how listening to this (faster version) makes me feel the same way when I listen to Teen Town at normal speed " |
Oh man that is insane!!! by the way so great you got a channel going.. I've been loving your bass on Pomplamoose & Scary Pockets for the last year or so and was commenting to a friend that you were my new fav bassist (taken over from Stuart Zender) but I didnt actually know your name. Anyway.. great stuff!
Dude! Thanks so much, man!!!
Ok, so the speed is manipulated, but you have some tasty lines my man! Thank you for sharing.
This is what the 0.75 speed playback option was made for.
