I first learned about John through Desert Rose Band.
He kicked ass in there.
This amazed me that he can keep up in Gypsy music too.

John is amazing in every musical field... amazing rock player, gypsy jazz, folk bluegrass... he performs for many various projects (including Elton John), bands of his own in all styles (bluegrass, gypsy..) He can play clarinet, saxophone, keys marvelously well... plus is a great composer.

John stole the show here. He's much more diverse (and clean/accurate) a player than Tommy, and his phrasing vocabulary is top notch.
