John you are too humble. You are a very important guitarist today. So diverse educated musical and a tone master. Truly a hero to many of us. You set the bar for the Joe's out there and he recognizes that.
John, normally I would say somebody like you has forgotten more than I will ever know. But it seems that you have forgotten nothing. Ever! Such a fine guitar player
John Jorgenson is the master! His tremendous talent is only matched by his heart - truly one of the nicest, most humble people in the world of music! Bravo!
I was actually surprised years back at the humility and bare bone basic personality of Steve Vai listening to him talk in a dvd once. It seemed like you were just talking to somebody's uncle and you'd have no idea that he was an incredible guitar player.
@garylocke1 - Yep. Having met John numerous times, I can attest that he is a true gentleman, eminently approachable... just a superb human being. I will not make the mistake of saying he is "underrated". His name might not be a household work among the masses, but everyone who is serious about guitar knows who he is, and holds his musicianship in the highest esteem. He's a musical hero, and he deserves to be.
Some of those licks on the recording were vintage Les Paul. These guys are just carrying so much incredible music around with them. Awesome. Thanks guys
I played "Walk Don't Run" with an Am forever until I really listened and changed it to an A major. I made my stand and I'm stickin' to it! Great goin john. You're history of guitar music through the trends is a killer!
My 2 favorite guitarist's! Wow if you can find "Gifts from the Flood" It is my number one instrumental " electric genre" guitar CD of all time! My other equal (other category or genre acoustic.....) favorite is " an Acoustic Evening at the Vienna Opera house!
Great guitar talk. Valuable history and tech talk. Love it. I'm impressed that John and Joe allow 'the song' to retain its full value. John is a surprise for me now. Thanks Joe
JJ, Man, another great guitar player who played sax. Among cats like Robben Ford and Rory Gallagher (and Matt B, local player, sax first). I took sax in grade school band for three years, late '60s. Any squeaks were probably me. I just wanted to play guitar.....never got very good at that, either :)
I have to ask,. Is there a slight 1” or so dent in the front of the ‘65 JTM45 at the beginning of the clip? It would be on the right side of the face around and above the input jacks? If so, I have a story of how it got there.
If that is my old amp it got pelted with PVC from a pyrotechnic piece that blew up. A couple of folks had to get checked out at the hospital and most of the band got smacked but not injured. I bought the one I’m referencing back in ‘80-81 when I was in LA. I have never seen another one like it that had block letters and white knobs.
I believe it's Bonamassa’s brand new project, The Sleep Eazys on their first album Easy To Buy, Hard To Sell. Joe's 1st instrumental album! Which was just released on April 10 via Provogue/J&R Adventures. Honors guitar great Danny Gatton, one of Bonamassa’s most influential mentors, and features instrumental versions of some of his favorites from Gatton, Frank Sinatra, Tony Joe White, King Curtis and more.
Joe is trying to play Hank Garland's song "Move" at the early part of this. Joe is a great player but not Hank Garland who backed the likes of Elvis Presley and Patsy Cline to name a few.
There’s always a smug little smirk peeking out from underneath Joe Bonamassa’s ‘I’m humble’ disguise. He always talks about himself as if it was a fan talking about him. It’s obnoxious and creepy. He’s always a little too pleased with himself. And he’s definitely gone too far when he has the band open for him and struts out like he was Sinatra or Elvis in Las Vegas. A bit of (genuine) humility goes a long way, Joe. It’s pretty vomity when someone obviously thinks too much of themself
John Buell Hey pal, Jonny Lang had the band start and he came out after they were rocking.... It was his first tour when he was 16. Sinatra? Arrogant? Nah, it’s a rock and roll show, brother. Relax and please don’t go to live shows, ever. You’d be the asshole who ruins it for everyone
What you're saying is completely irrelevant because that's what music is. Fantastic British blues came from them copying the Chicago blues, the Chicago blues came from them copying the delta blues. They all copied and added stuff and so does Joe. He's massively influenced by Eric Johnson which adds something new to the blues he's playing
@@Zach-Rosicka oh well let me bow in your presence you lucky man you... He doesn't always treat his fans the way he does the people helping him sell the shows. But all honesty I'd brown nose him too if I was in your position,,, the pay is probably better...

John you are too humble. You are a very important guitarist today. So diverse educated musical and a tone master. Truly a hero to many of us. You set the bar for the Joe's out there and he recognizes that.
The fact that Joe Bonamassa reveres JJ raises my esteem for him immensely. 😎

Jorgensen slays me with his knowledge, ability and congeniality. Love the guy
His solo break on "Hello Trouble" from the mid-1980s is deservedly a legend. The man can flat-out play....

John Jorgensen is a musical beast. Wow!
Pure contentment @4:15 and no surprise with this pair of true Gentlemen. I have a lot of time for people who find real joy in anything non digital.
I love Joe Bonamassa’s music! I just finished transcribing his duel with Eric Gales.
No small task!
Humility and Virtuosity. I don't think it gets better than that!

John Jorgenson is incredible. Thank you for the posting.
That's one of the best sounding Les Pauls I've ever heard.. he's getting lot's of different tones outta that thing !
My 2 favorite guitarist's! Wow if you can find "Gifts from the Flood" It is my number one instrumental " electric genre" guitar CD of all time! My other equal (other category or genre acoustic.....) favorite is " an Acoustic Evening at the Vienna Opera house!
It’s amazing to see two of my guitar heroes together!!!
Love the story about the amp catching fire. Loved the footage of these two. Thx for posting this. The dog,. Too cute
Great guitar talk. Valuable history and tech talk. Love it. I'm impressed that John and Joe allow 'the song' to retain its full value. John is a surprise for me now. Thanks Joe
I recorded John on a solo project of his in the middle 80s... a Magnificent musician and a great guy....
Great demo!
I saw the Hellecasters play at the wild animal park in 1989 (I think), awesome!
Had lunch with John one time, really top bloke!!
Excellent and interesting....🍁

That dog is georgeous, wonderful music
Yeah, and he's SO into it! LOL!
Another great video 👍
Sound from that vox is great
The sax is wonderful
I love Joe, have watched him for years, but can’t remember any song of his or think of any melody he’s created.
Lots of great covers though. We call them tributes
Look up „happier times“ from the ballad of John Henry album
Would love to see John do one of these sessions with Jan Akkerman. Although I’m not sure if Jan speaks English. He speaks guitar though.
Man it was good to see Mr. Figg back!
Wonderful explanation
Almost burned down the house!
That’s a pretty eclectic mix of guitarists that catches me off guard - the Hellecasters meets Joe Bonamassa😂
très bon documentaire
Hellecasters are Terrific!
Background music is doubled and out of by time with each other from4:17 to 6:00.
That tone at the end is amazing through the Les Paul custom and the box, is this a typical sound for a Les Paul through a vox??
Dude, he was copping SOOO many tones...
Typical sound for a Les Paul with Jorgenson pulling the chords!
Very Cool 😎 Thanks Guys !
Rocket 88 was the first song with amp distortion/fuzz.
Is that the Marshall he got from Anderson’s???

More switch board! 6:12
@2:50 what is that a dual-E-caster?
John please bring Joe back to GT missed him the first time
Love all this, but who's the dude that is obviously from Kansas City. Chiefs and Royals? At the same time? Love you man!
What is the record that they're recording ? Is it out yet?
Hi Eric, it's 'Move' by Denzil Best. Hank Garland did a great version.

Hank Garland for the win here.
Greg!!!!!!!
🧡
Love you, John. But any discussion on the evolution of the electric guitar that omits Jimi Hendrix is not a discussion at all.
👍👍👍
11:17
John Jorgenson the guy that sounds like the only sober guy after a party
You missed Hendrix in your history rap
✊👌
Shit I thought it sounded like goo goo dolls and what do ya know? Didn’t know Jorg jorgensohn performed with goo goo dolls as well. Awesome
You probably know this, but Tim Pierce did the mandolin solo on the recording...
@@kitano0 I didn't know that. Appreciate the info. What a legend as well in his own right
How can it be possible that Joe doesn’t have a Grammy? What a joke.
CAN YOU GET SOUND ANY THINNER SOUND LOL

DJ Merck laughable and I’m not speaking of your envious comment.
