'Baba has its place, Petes moog work gave me one of the best music trips into bliss I think I've ever experienced one warm summer afternoon as I was actually sitting on a slight hill overlooking a huge filed of tall grass. The grass swayed with the steady warm summers day breeze under a crystal blue sky and summer sun. That swaying grass seemed to be a Woodstock sized, tightly packed crowd just swaying in unison to Petes magical sounds. For me though its all about a memory now when I hear it. Great ones, no doubt but Satisfactions riff always sounds new to me, always in the moment. The weed back then enhanced the music, not obliterated ones senses. For me, that summer day, wow, no other music experience has topped it before or since. The Beatles were in a different category. Yes, they had some decent riffs but I don't think riffs were their forte. Their songs on the whole were, again, to me, their greatest strength. Definitely some unforgettable riffs but they just didn't have that visceral punch that the others did and I think thats what they intended it to be. They did have a couple of great R&R tues no doubt, but Norwegian Wood', 'Here Comes The Sun', 'Dear Prudence', 'Peenny Lane' 'A DAY In THE LIFE' for fux sake, AMAZING ... but not riff driven. BTW, just wondering: Why no Zep ? I know, you could go all day with this but zep has the most played rock song ever, no ? 'Whole Lotta Love', 'Communication Break Down', 'Rock and Roll' etc etc ? In fact, I would replace The Beatles with Zep here. Just a thought. Great, fun video !! 😃👍
These are four bands on equal footing. I'm a lifelong Ray Davies/Kinks fan. But it's nearly impossible to pick who had the greatest riffs. Probably the Stones. I do think Pete Townshend is the most interesting and exciting guitar player to watch live, and none of them can beat The Ox on bass. My favorite is still Ray Davies for his songwriting.
And the winner is? All of them. Riffs are what make rock and roll. Love to see see lead guitar comparisons between George Harrison, John Lennon. Paul McCartney, Dave Davies, Pete Townsend , Keith Richards and Brian Jones next.
And the winner is...???

Great, fun video !!

thanks for including the kinks. the inventors of riff rock
Great rock n roll 🤘
👍😉🤘
Personally i like The Kinks and The Who but he could have picked better songs for the kinks riffs Like "Waterloo Sunset" Or "Lola"
👍😉
@@Kewrock totally concur about Townshend and The Ox.
everyone is great, the truly masters of 60s world music, british rock is the best contemporaries today and forever. abraços do brasil 🇧🇷🇬🇧

Muito obrigado!
Grande Abraço!👍😉
And the winner is? All of them. Riffs are what make rock and roll. Love to see see lead guitar comparisons between George Harrison, John Lennon. Paul McCartney, Dave Davies, Pete Townsend , Keith Richards and Brian Jones next.
👍😉
In honor of the Stadium Tour going on right now, you should do Motley Crue vs. Def Leppard. Very similar yet very different bands!
