CookieRepairProjects no this is real. There’s an actual bootleg which is 25 mins long and features various takes (without solos), until the last 8-ish minutes of that bootleg during which there is a full band rehearsal which is exactly the same as this video. In otherwise, the audio for this video was taken from a bootleg release of led Zeppelin’s stairway to heaven rehearsals. The other rehearsal and solo can be found on UA-cam (that one has no outro vocals)
yeah, some people - even on the bootleg index sites - say its fake But how would you fake Plants voice like that? Impossible, unless you have the isolated vocal track and enough talent to imitate JP, JB & JPJ. Almost impossible. Maybe someone stole a copy of the multitrack and made a diy mixdown?
I’ve listened to Led Zeppelin for over 15 years. This song became background for me. I was drunk coming home from a night out and let it play for the first time in a long time and it just hit me in a new way. Like a child. Wowee. I hope I can let that happen for all of the beautiful things in life I take for granted. Love.
I actually love this version, feels old and like you’re not supposed to hear it, which it is but also like, hard to explain. It feels decrepit and darker, a fuller meaning, but also more earthy
I'm glad I found and that this is here. I love this version. I hope it stays here forever. The other upload from someone else got taken down and blocked.
You guys would also appreciate in the Light (alternative take) by Zeppelin. It's like the opening scene to the classic it movie with the rain and George. Creepy sounding
A lot of people not buying this as Jimmy Page playing. The more I listen to it the more it makes sense. At first listen it sounded pretty fractured and not in time, but after several listens it makes more sense. I do believe its Jimmy playing, but the mix is simply horrible so the question is how did this get leaked out. I've heard a lot of people try and imitate page's playing and very few, I mean extremely few can capture the nuances of his playing. This sounds like him. It's just that the mix doesn't make sense. So hell, I dont know, other than I do believe that is JP playing.
1. There is no farm called Hampshire. Well ... there probably is one somewhere, but Led Zeppelin never recorded there. The place where they recorded SOME of Led Zeppelin IV is called Headley Grange, which is a HOUSE located IN Hampshire. 2. All of the album was NOT recorded there. SOME of it was recorded there and some of it was recorded at Island Studios.
I believe it's an early play through before being refined into what was on the fourth album surely people realise the effort required to produce a song like stairway I bet there would have been numerous takes
This is definitely not a fake... the solo is mixed into Plant’s vocals... and on account there where multiple different takes of the solo, this is one of the 3. The rest I think, however, is the first take of the entire song... after recorded, mixed, Page decided it needed to be re-recorded... so this is probably the original first take with an alternate solo take
They REALLY got it right in the end; the solo here is horrid by comparison, and other unnecessary guitars. As with great novel writing and film, knowing what to leave out is just as important as knowing what to put in.
The solo is not very good. It almost sounds like something he would have played when he was deep into his heroin years. Where did this come from, and how do we know it's authentic? I've heard another version that featured one of the 3 solos, and it was much better than this.
Googoo101 The solo may be the ultimate result of many different improvisations, but in the end it's clearly a well rehearsed and scripted solo that we hear on the final version. It has very few hallmarks of being improvised. No inconvenient pauses, every space filled and rhythmically perfect, not to mention perfectly in tune. A solo like that does not come together by accident and may actually be several takes spliced together, just like the rest of the song!
CookieRepairProjects It tells us it’s just panned like that. This sounds like a lot of Page’s rough stuff. He was always a studio artist first and when he’s improvising something out of thin air he tends to be pretty disjointed. Listen to other studio sessions and you notice he’s often pretty rough.
@The Fine Black Harm ummm... yes it is. 1. This guy wouldnt fake it. 2. His voice cracks a lot more from repeated singing of the song. 3. They try to make it sound as similar as what they rehearse, because, that's what they want it to sound like. I don't think any of you guys saying it's fake know what you're talking about.
The Fine Black Harm its real and and plant’s voice is very off and it’s just another take which sounded off. Page’s solo isnt good either he missed a couple of notes too.
I have exceptional perception of musical nuances, and yes, this is the recorded vocal take that made it on the original album version. Perhaps Robert did double his vocal after this, but it's exactly the same BEFORE the guitar solo. After? It is not the vocal take that made it to the final version.
Pretty sure it's Jimmy Page. He once admitted there were 4 different solos he tried for this song. This might be one of them. It still sounds like his playing...just not as epic as the album solo.
Jimmy Page recorded 3 different guitar solos, the third one is the one on the studio album... this has one of the other two... love it
Where is the last one i wonder?
@@zanesadler4033 pretty easy to find on UA-cam, this one here however I think is a fake

Best version of this incredible song is the one from Paris theatre .

I hope it stays here forever to
I prefer the pipes or flutes being used here as opposed to the recorders in the original version.. adds a more mystical feel
For sure. This is so sick
This is not Fake....This is Stairway still in the making....💯
I see you got this by the Stairway to Heaven purge of UA-cam.. I had the same thing uploaded but it got blocked twice for copyright.
Led Zeppelin Rarities good luck?
I love the organ sounds before the solo!
Jimmy listens to it and rebuilds his guitar, John always composes changes
Wow...like hearing another song.
You have great playlists!

love the guitar...
absolutley perfect.. I love this version better.
Also love this part

There is a strange panning. I think it's to throw off YT's music signature algorithm.
Love the solo!

Yeah this is definitely Jimmy playing. The some of the licks in this solo i’ve heard in other live versions of the song.

The solo was recorded at Island Studios, as well as all the overdubs

I believe that the part when the guitar descends around 6:22 to that low note, it is a very underrated part.
I keep replaying that part!

I don't like the solo , very simple, without the classic part . But good versión in general
is it live aid or this rehearsal i can't tell which one.
Alex L.A. probably a rehearsal. Definitely sounds like they are in a studio or rehearsal space
u guys prob didnt get what i meant :D
@@AlexGray19 Damn, that ain't fair. It's a really nice version, the audio isn't as good because it's not on record but that doesn't make it bad.

it sounds like someone played over the album version during the solo and recorded the whole thing on an old boombox

while i like how after the solo plant gets a moment to shine, i really like the chaotic finish where the guitar solo extends into the final verse

You get all excited for the solo and it's just..... meh.
Yeah, Led Zeppelin is the only band that can give this solo justice. This band shouldn't even try.
You're meh.
It’s literally how the studio solo came together... improvisation
@@googoes I know, I'm just saying that it's not as good as the one they went with.

My thoughts exactly if you listen on headphones you can hear the audio shifting left to right if that tells anybody anything
