Yep, adult paper dolls!!! Wouldn’t it be great if pattern companies had a site you could store “your body” and then “try on” their patterns electronically? It would also give you the correct size and suggest alterations. Dream on.
It's no surprise that you enjoy drawing before you sew, you are so creative. This is a fabulous tool to Invision the final product . My favorite was your Audrey top.
Such a great series so far. Very helpful information. At age 51 I’m much more comfortable with my body and image than I was as a younger woman. Still a good reminder.
Today's video was very interesting. I would not have attempted sketching styles because I have little drawing talent. However, copying line drawings is something I might be able to do! Thanks so much for this idea.
Fascinating Kim. I wish there was a way to print the croqui and then add pattern pieces to scale. While I think seeing our real true body is super liberating I would like to easily know that my top or dress length is correct. Not sure if I’m making sense. I really love this concept. Thanks for sharing! ❤️
I agree with Kathy. I think a body model is worth a thirty dollar investment. Thanks for bringing it to our attention. Enjoyed part two as much as part one.
Thank you again! I am really enjoying this video series. I’m definitely going to get My Body Model! I was afraid to even look at the price tag until you said $30. LOL! I can handle that I think ... as a matter of fact, given the price of fabrics and patterns, I feel like I cannot afford NOT to get My Body Model. I’ve made so many outfits that I thought I would love, only to find out after completion that they were totally wrong for me, and therefore time and money wasted!
My body model looks like it would be fun and helpful. I’ve looked into several times but haven’t purchased. Keep thinking I wouldn’t use it to full advantage. You make it look so easy! Maybe sometime I’ll reconsider! Good post again. Thanks!!
What a great idea to have the croquis. Your art skills are definitely better than mine. I couldn't believe you were shading the dress!! I wish my knees looked better but I will quit wearing my dresses longer as I am height challenged as well. Looking forward to you commenting on the Love Notions patterns.
Thank you so much for the walk-through of how your do your planning and work with your "my body model". It's was so helpful to see how you work with the layers and add the shape of the garment.
😃 these are super helpful videos lol... I used to draw clothes all the time as a teen and I can't remembered why I stopped... I really struggle with finding thing I love that look good on the body I have now... and that's why I try to hard to learn to sew... I'm getting there one little thing at a time and watching you helps so much!
I was mesmerized. Thank you. I recall how much I loved my paper dolls and putting the clothes on them back in the 40ties. I had a big box of them and my grandmother bought me the books of them. when I get the nerve I will try and make a form.
Thank you again. Looks like I will be the paper and coloured pencil designer. lol. Great idea to take a photo, I'm sure going to try that. Fantastic information and very do-able.
Another great video! you had mentioned the body models in the past and I looked at them then. good idea of "trying on the patterns" before you buy. Can't wait for tomorrow's video.
I wish to have a big butt. All my clothes are longer in the back because of no fluff. I’ve been told it’s wide but flat. I almost bought padded cheeks. However making my own clothes helps. Pants are a nightmare. I have to redraft everything. Sewing is my saving grace to have clothes that actually fit. Love your channel.
I have made myself a croci and love it also. It’s like playing dress up with the old paper dolls. I cut mine out and laminated her. It does help with seeing what does and doesn’t look good on me. My granddaughter comes and plays with her and the clothes when she is here and in my sewing room with me
Thank you for the Body Model démonstration. I looked at it a few times in the past but I never thougth to use it to look for the fit of a pattern on me, great idea!
This is fascinating to watch!! I agree that wearing large shapeless things don't look good. I'm just figuring that out since I started sewing again. Thanks so much for all you share!!
Thank you! I was an initial investor supporter of mybodymodel but have drifted away because I have trouble with sketching and I got frustrated by mistakes but I am technical so there's an idea!
Brilliant. I often buy a pattern and believe I will look like the model on the pack. 😂 crazy I know but hey ho. The power of advertising. This is amazing Thank You. X🙌🏻❤️💚💙
Kim, I really enjoy your videos. Still deciding what additional Love Notions patterns I want to purchase. I really want to make the duet trousers. I hope I can get them to fit. My body model looks really nice. Thank you for sharing.
This video was so much fun to watch ! I have what I need to try it already, well, except for any artistic talent. But I love the tech side of what you're doing so I'll give it a go. As always, thanks for the info and the encouragement, Kim. (And your croquis of your grandkids were adorable, too.)
Thank you for these vlogs--how to choose patterns for your body type. I can't tell you how many garments I've made and they just don't look right. This is especially true of pants!
Hi from England. I have jumped forward so that I could watch this next video. A few months ago I purchased My Body Type and have done nothing with it! So this was what I needed, I intend to use it now. I am like you, a long torso and short legs but only 5ft 2in. If my legs were in proportion with my body I think that I would be about 5ft 9in! Thanks for doing these videos.
This was great. I purchased My Body Image when it first came out and have used it more lately in the paper colored pencil format. I do enjoy using it. It was nice to see how to use it digitally.
Thank you, Kim, for taking the time to explain the "My Body Model" website. Honestly, this is not something I would have thought about doing until you explained the advantages. I can see the benefit of seeing the outfit in advance on a lifelike shape of yourself would assist in your wardrobe choices. I think I will give this a try and see if it helps.
This is an interesting idea. It would be so nice to be able to get an idea of what a pattern was going to look like on before going to all the work and expensive of making the item.

Great idea!
Yes. Online eyeglass sellers nearly do that. Upload a picture of your face and "try on" frames. So your great idea should be not too hard. 🧵👍
Wow! That would be great!
Adult paper dolls....great idea! I am definitely not skilled at drawing. Love the videos Kim!
Thank you for demonstrating this, now I know I will never do this digitally paper and pencil for me. Always enjoy your videos.
WOW!!! What a money and time saving process to find what clothes look good on the different body types.
It's no surprise that you enjoy drawing before you sew, you are so creative. This is a fabulous tool to Invision the final product . My favorite was your Audrey top.

What a great demonstration to show how we can get our best look.
Great demonstration! Now I have a better understanding of body silhouettes and patterns matching. Thanks!
Very cool. I never gave much thought to making a croquis. I might try taking a photo of myself and tracing over it at first. Thanks for the tip:)
This video was such a pleasant surprise!!! What a lovely idea! I was mesmerized. Am going to check this out for sure.

Thank you for sharing this, I would have never thought to do this on my own.
Ohh.. now you get me looking for my old Wacom tablet and pen.. if I find it I will give it a go!
An interesting concept...have never done any sketching for sewing...ready to try!

What a great tool. I'm definitely going to check this out. Thank you Kim!
Wow, thank you. Did not think about having a drawing and planning a pattern fit!
I found it really fascinating to watch you working digitally. Looks like something outside my giftings, but maybe the app would enable me to draw me.
Thank you Kim. Very instructive and motivating. Looking forward to tomorrow's video.
This was so interesting and informative. I think it will be a fun Mother/Daughter activity too!
Fun with art! I'm enjoying this series, Kim. Thanks.

Thank you for doing this series about body image and what styles to choose. So many of have struggled with this at one time or another.
I found this to be fascinating. Thank you for taking us through it. I would definitely get the colored pencils out and go for it.
I enjoyed this! I figured I could take a picture of myself and make my own perfect shape by tracing the outside. Thanks for doing this
