It's not something that I cared too much about as I love my pyjama days and I seem to get more housework done in my pjs. But I am starting to be influenced by your example. I just bought a few dresses and will be getting some nice tops and I will start to dress nicely except when I need to wash my floors. Love your channel and have learned much from you.
@@TheDailyConnoisseur since I retired, PJs are my go to but TODAY, I’m wearing a comfortable grey and white pants set and I feel beautiful here in NYC. Thanks for highlighting my message and the discounts.
Hello Jennifer FYI …🔥there is current info on LMNT that you say you use. You may want to think twice what you’re consuming. There’s an undisclosed ingredient that can wreck havoc on your metabolism. There’s 10x more Maltodextrim in it. (Check out Dr Boz)
I learnt from my Mother , she always showered and put on a nice dress and some makeup every day after her chores were done , she would then freshen up again later in the day before my Father got home from work. A very good role model ♥🙏🏻
Over the last 2 years I’ve suffered through one health issue that has lead to multiple other health issues that now means I’m disabled. I always dressed well at home, but now I dress even better, wearing the things I kept for special occasions, as it’s one of the few things I feel a have control in my life. There’s also power in dressing well as it makes you feel better about yourself and life in general. By the way, I have to say thank you for your wonderful videos and books. I’ve been binging your videos lately in a search for additional ways I can improve my life and bring joy to it, especially on those really bad days. Thank you for sharing your beautiful outlook on life and helping me to become a daily connoisseur of living a beautiful life.
My niece has MS and the last couple of years her health has declined rapidly. She is in a wheelchair but always wears dresses, makeup and jewelry. She has a woman friend come to her home to cut her hair, she wears it short as that is easier for her to care for. I am proud of her, she is fighting the good fight.
@@carolynmaves503 that is so wonderful to hear. I’m sure, like me, taking pride in her appearance brings her joy on those difficult days. Wishing her and you all the best.
Some time ago [like a few years ago] you made the comment about dressing nicely for the day. Ever since, I take the time to dress nicely. The first time I started dressing nicely, my husband asked, "Where are you going?" I told him," I'm not going anywhere. I decided to put some decent work clothes." His response, "Well, you look very nice. I like it." I live in the country and have outside chores that required clothing that must stand up to rough work. In my area, there are plenty of stores that carry well made and tailored clothing just for the outdoors. I have even found some in re-sell shops!
I'm not trying to be weird, but do you have a page or account where you show what you wear? I'd love to know how you are dressing nice for outdoor chores.
@@mwebb3014 I think about Ma Ingles and the Walton ladies. They all wore dresses and skirts and managed to do everything the men did. There is a gal on UA-cam who also is wearing long skirts and doing out door chores. She is a huge little house on the prairie fan and has styled her life around that lifestyle.
@@wisewomanhealing I don't have an account. I don't wear torn or flimsy materials outdoors. In our area, when the ranchers are working, they dress in starched jeans, long sleeve shirts and thick t's. They tell me the jeans last longer when starched. Who knew? I guess when I stated I wear nice outdoor clothing I was referring to durable clothing that doesn't tear easily. Country life doesn't mean you have to look like something the cat dragged in when you do work outdoors.
my husband regularly upgrades our home, he said i deserve a beautiful office. Ive been a stay at home mom and homemaker for 40+ years. Dressing for work is important too!
This was such a good reminder to dress for ourselves in a way that makes us feel beautiful and worthy of effort. I lived alone for a while, and mostly wore my athletic wear all day. But after my son moved back home after four deployments to Afghanistan, I make a point to dress in real clothes. However, it does make my little dog, Dewey, very nervous if I put on shoes, as he is afraid I might be leaving without him! Your videos are lovely and elegant - Thank you!
I heard someone once say, whether it's loungewear or dressing up, you should always be lookin' fine by 9!😄I thought that was too cute ad it makes me giggle everyday, but I make sure that I'm lookin' fine by 9!
I have to share . . . Since retirement, there are days I could likely live in lounge / athleisure. And honestly Jennifer, I believe your influence has kept me from the acceptability of sweats all day. I dress for the day including makeup and fragrance! My husband always asks . . . “Where are you going?” I always say, “I’m dressed to romance my / the day!” (😂 He needs an influencer😅 to gently suggest him out of pj’s and softies! ) I know I have told you this before, but you are endeared as a life coach by me! Have a best blessed week! Love, Lynne
Jennifer, I love this topic, when I retired five years ago I was getting a little too comfortable in my sweats. Not any longer and I feel great. I dress now as though I might have company any moment.
I went from wearing men's clothing to only wearing dresses in the span of two years. People were a bit confused at first, but the eventually got used to it.
Dressing well at home really improved my self esteem. I love expressing my true style (I call it “elderly Irish fisherman” as I live very North😂) and I love wearing my favourite pieces of jewelry and get a little boost of joy when I see them or catch a glimpse of my reflection. Seeing myself look well put together gives me a sense of self respect and dignity.
You said most of your viewers are retired, stay at home moms etc i always thought the lifestyle you described was out of my reach because I'm a nurse and work outside the home. One day, I had an epiphany. I work 3 to 4 days a week! That means I'm off 3 to 4 days a week and those days are mine. I can have that elegant lifestyle on those days. Thank you for your channel.
I’m so glad you mentioned intentional loungewear. I remember in one of your books you spoke against it, but I’ve always felt like comfortable and chic loungewear is great for days where you’re staying home all day or if your children are you are sick and you want to be comfortable.
I miss summer! I would get dressed in my sweet maxi dresses and sandals. But it’s fall here and it’s freezing already and it’s not even winter. I’m wearing black leggings, a black 0:02 tank dress and a sweater or shirt over the tank dress. Haha. Sneakers for now. Then I’ll wear Ugg boots. All the foot wear is for the house only. I also wear knitted skater dresses over my leggings. These uniforms are comfortable for housework and cute enough to run errands or appointments.
Love this! Yes! I work from home and my goal is to become a housewife someday! It’s hard to dress up everyday but I think trying to simplify it for me makes life easier! I just focus on hygiene, neat hair/nails/clean face & throw on a dress! Then once I master that start adding makeup, jewelry, fancy hair dos on a regular basis! Also you can “romanticize” getting ready for the day play classical music or watch your fav show!
Try adding candle light when you get ready, that really would be romantic :). I went to Norway a few years ago and they burn candles in the morning and they are on the breakfast tables at hotels too. I have copied their idea in my home. Breakfast by candle light on a dark Winters morning is lovely. That could easily extend to the morning shower or bath and then getting ready.
I have found pretty and flattering casual dresses and top/pant ensembles on Amazon and Walmart that are affordable and so comfy yet stylish. I love getting dressed with simple makeup and jewelry every day. I’m retired early to care for my husband who has early onset Parkinson’s Disease. He likes to see me look pretty and put together. It brightens both our days! He dresses nice every day too because he also wants to look presentable always. 💕
I’ve always been someone who dresses up, however I’m going to take all of this information and put it into my nails. I’ve raised a household of children and I am also a gardener-that has always been my excuse for rough nails. It’s time to add a lovely hand to my pretty outfits! Jennifer-your makeup is always outstanding, and today this is so true! I love your deep, woodsy red look. Is this new?
I have started to always look put together, I feel better, have more zest and energy. My husband doesn’t say anything but gives me a look. I used to work in high end fashion in Manhattan and relaxed when i retired from NY to WPB . Yet I love looking my best even at home.
You have really motivated me to do this. I am intentionally getting dressed in something that looks good and putting on my makeup daily. Im feeling so much better about myself and I m always ready for whatever comes along in my day, like jumping in the car for a quick trip to the store, or for a visit from a friend family. Thank you.
Life is your art form and you are the Artist. Your character is your avatar. Dress to bring JOY to yourself and others. Uts FUN!! If people dont like it, so what?! All artists get criticized. Its part of the ceeative process ❤
It's fun to create a character for daily life! I dress to entertain myself and to bring JOY to others. This includes feminine clothing, jewelry, makeup and pretty wigs...every day. I'm a stay at home retired girl and this brings a lot of pleasure to my day. ❤
Thank you for this video, Jennifer! I have always tried to dress well at home and abroad. Now that I am housebound after an accident five years ago, my practice is to dress in intentional work clothes in the morning (unless I have morning tea visitors!), wash and tidy up at lunchtime, and wear dresses and skirts - in short, nicer things - with nice shoes and often jewellery, in the afternoon. I always do my long hair in a flattering and sometimes a fun way, and first thing in the morning, I do my skin and put on some subtle makeup too. This makes me feel ready for anything, and never on the back foot!
Limiting believes. I had impression you had to wear dresses with dressy higher heeled shoes. This summer I experimented with some inexpensive, solid colored, classic shaped dresses. I wore them the entire summer. I paired them as needed, depending on weather and occasion, with different colored lightweight cardigan sweaters, belts, ballet flats and handbags. Sometimes with a sunhat. It served me so well. I could not believe how quick, easy and comfortable it was to dress. I always felt appropriate in everyday opportunities, There were many spur of the moment plans I was able to say yes to without thought. One unplanned day ended up with a group photo that was posted online and on TV. Seeing my summer photos are proof that it is worth the effort. I don't like to stand out, but looked feminine and simple "chic?" Now these same dresses are still appropriate through fall, even the sleeveless ones. I pair them with boots and a heavier, longer open-cardigan add a pashmina to my sweaters if its chillier. Not sure if it will work in winter but taking one season at a time.
I can attest that Comfelie is fabulous brand. I have always enjoyed dressing well, it just makes the day and interactions with others better for me….Thank you for this lovely video
“Banishing limiting beliefs” is the top tip for me and will challenge that “comfort” notion. I like using scarves and jewellery to dress up my daily wear, but that #1 tip will inspire me to reach for my “fancy” clothes as well on a daily basis. Thank you for your inspiring videos and books Jennifer!
Sometimes i wear lounge wear - nice sets -because i have a digestive issue which causes bloating and pain . When in having a bad , i feel free and comfortable yet put together.
I do wear some sweats when doing really dirty work. I just learned recently, (I am 69!), that I should make myself presentable every day whether or not I am going out in public just because I feel better doing it. My mother did it with four children.....so, it should be a no-brainer for me.🤦🏻♀️. Not sure what took me so long. Glad I just found your channel.☺️
I love this! I appreciate the bra recommendations, the "Warners" brand is the only comfort fitting bra I've found but I may give "Comfelie" a try since they look very comfortable. I have recently begun to redo my wardrobe, slowly giving away and replacing clothing that does not fit me anymore (already gave away my size 2 dress which had not fit me in years! though I'm still holding on to one french inspired dress with hopes that my exercise and weight loss plan will prove effective so I can fit in it again). Lord knows I can keep clothes for years lol. I'm paying more attention than I've done in the past to the quality so I don't have to waste my time shopping in the future and keep enjoying the more important things in life. Thank you Jennifer! By the way, we share a similar upbringing as well, I'm part Panamanian :) You inspire, keep doing what you do!
A helpful tip - I do not dry any of my everyday skirts. They rarely need ironed because they dry nicely, and they last SO long still looking new. I have retired dress skirts that I wear for everyday and I’m amazed how well they hold up. My lifestyle is busy taking care of tiny people and any household chores and my nice clothes hold up fine.
I don’t use the dryer because it “eats” clothes. I wash at night and hang stuff on a hanger. In the morning most are dry. I sometimes take them outside to dry on my clothesline. I love the fresh fragrance of outdoors…
@shannonpoore9001 The average price I’ll spend on a piece of clothing is $5-$20. 😂 I buy all of my clothes second hand, or on clearance when the seasons change and that helps me get nicer quality. Sincerely, my trick is not drying stuff. The skirt I’m wearing right now cost $5.99 at Ross and I’ve worn it for years - gardening, spring cleaning at camp, anything rough you can imagine and it still looks almost new. Another trick is I buy two if I find something I really like, that helps each of them last longer and get worn out less quickly. My favorite really sharp looking skirts are from Loft, Dress Barn, and Kohls. Nothing fancy. :)
I have just hopefully finished changing over my wardrobe for winter and have a large tote bag to give away to the white elephant sale later this year. I tried a combination of skirt and top today and the skirt went into the tote bag. 😀 yay
Hello Jennifer, I just retired from the hospital. I wore scrubs for years I am try so hard not to fall in a rut I have nice clothes and jewelry, sometimes I just sleep in a old t-shirt thanks for the encouragement I know I need to start dressing at home and using nice sleepwear. 😊
I have a capsule wardrobe and wear one of my 3 favourite necklaces every day. Either an antique pearl necklace my husband bought as a Christmas gift, a locket my Mother in Law bought for my birthday one year or my double pearl choker I wore to my wedding. My kids still ask where I’m going every day, despite me telling them, nowhere just staying home.
I really am a gardener who wears gumboots, along with overalls, sturdy work jeans, cotton shirts and other clothing that can take the abuse of a rural lifestyle. In the house, I wear nicer jeans and tops and usually an apron. I elevate utilitarian clothes by wearing earrings, pretty cotton scarves and a little makeup. Sloppy t-shirts and sweats are really not practical for me, and no more comfortable that tailored clothing that fits.
Dear Jennifer, I have a question about the maintenance of good clothing at home: I like to be well dressed at home all day long. When I do homemaking tasks, I wear an apron so that my clothes will not get stained. However, after a long day including cooking, my good clothes, even if still nice, tend to smell from my cooking session. As they are still clean, I try to avoid to laundry them, so I hang them in fresh air during the nights. But they still keep the smell of the kitchen. Do you - or some of my fellow subscribers - have any tips to give on this issue ? Thank you very much in advance for your advice. Best regards, Tamara
I think I’ve been in a black turtleneck, sweatpants, and fleece vest since before COVID! Just recently, I found Talbots Haven brand and selected some beautiful loungewear, that frankly could be worn to an informal dinner party. Then, a couple of lounge sets from Amazon. I went with a mushroom color for everything. Anything to get out of the black House Hag look😂
Thank you for posting. When I retired earlier this year and was going to stay home and help care for my husband… I decided to mimic “June Cleaver” style.. dresses, aprons etc.. I made several linen dresses, skirts and pants. some better than others… one was kind of a fail.. Especially helpful in summer heat. Not especially fancy, but feminine. I have even had strangers come up and compliment me. I am of the opinion that shorts should be saved for those with great legs. Now that it is finally cooling down..I am in the process of making some merino wool dresses..simple yet comfy, and not show offy. Still need jeans.. but only ones that fit. Still not sure what lounge wear to wear in case I have to answer the door.. I liked your knit outfit. Next step.. I will take your advice and wear some of my many many many pieces of costume and nice jewelry. And I will check out the bra…does it stay cool in sweltering heat? I am still stuck with the 70s slogan…”if you don’t have a hand, why wear a glove”. Wearing a bra that is too hot is horrible and most of the cooler bras are not attractive. Thanks again, and I enjoyed reading your Madame Chic book earlier this year, which gave me some ideas for dressing a little nicer than most of the people I see on the street (short shorts and crop tops…not a great look for .. let;s face it … a senior citizen)
I got a negative comment from my own mom via my sister. Mom told her I dress up just to go to the store and that I was putting on airs. 🙄 But you know what… even though it stung I decided I dress for myself and my own sense of well being, not to make her happy. So don’t let ANYONE stop you from your own progress or expressing/finding your own style. 👗 💍 And by the way… encourage the women who are trying to do/be better 👑 ♥️
Often, it's family that will try to sabotage our good efforts. Perhaps by dressing nicely to go shopping, your family members feel that their own dress standards are lacking. Be true to yourself. Don't lower your standards for others. Best wishes.
Having a capsule wardrobe you love and dressing well everyday are both empowering. Once you begin dressing well every day, extending that into your sleepwear is a must. These practices all beget an elegance that extends into your attitude and behaviors.
By dressing up at home, we can become comfortable with getting dressed up for somewhere special, and it will not be too much of a leap in what is required in terms of grooming etc. I have a special occassion coming up over the next few days and as I know you are a massive fan of Agatha Christie and may like to know about it............. I'm English and one of the towns I lived in growing up was the birthplace of Agatha Christie, Torquay in Devon,. Tomorrow, I am meeting up with my sister and niece in Torquay for a few days and I'm staying at the Imperial Hotel in Torquay. This was the hotel that Agatha Christie honeymooned at with her first husband and the hotel was the inspiration for three of her books. I'm sure you would love it. It has an elegant olde worlde interior plus the connection with AC. A few miles away is her Summer holiday home "Greenway" which is open to the public. There is a grand piano there that visitors are allowed to play !!!!! I think if on your next trip to England next summer, you would love visiting Devon. Can you imagine yourself playing Agatha Christie's piano? I have also stayed at The Swan Hotel in Harrogate when she "disappeared" for a while and this is where they found her. Another nice place you may enjoy. Anyway..............I have followed your Blog and YT channel for years. I have my own version of a small capsule wardrobe, thanks to your influence. I love dressing up and so have spent a couple of hours getting ready and packed, so that I am "presentable always" for the hotel pool and spa, drinks in the evening, afternoon tea with my sister, plus a walk across the countryside which will likely be muddy. My wardrobe is very mix and match, can be dressed up or down with accessories. However, I have to take three different types of footwear. Everyday, Evening & mud proof boots. I'm so excited for my adventure over the next few days and after having a play in my wardrobe, particularly with my accessories, I have my "leading lady" outfits all sorted. You never know, I may even bump into a man who is a fan of Hercule Poirot and is dressed in a similar way.
Love this, something I had been struggling with with regards to appearance is my hair, I love it but it requires a lot of work and maintenance. I started noticing an huge incline of women wearing bonnets outside!, Its become very common where I live. So for my bad hair days/ lounging around moments/ being called out for an emergency I brought these really beautiful hair bands in different fabrics and colours and they make me look so much more pulled together. x Thanks for the inspiration
Jennifer, I always love your videos. This was amazing. I have been following you for years and have been fumbling a round trying to figure out my style. I have finally through attempts getting it figured out. I love being a homemaker more than ever now. I have been finding style and being deliberate about what I am choosing to put into my closet. Thank you so much! ❤
I completely agree with you. But unfortunately in my current season of life with a 19 month old, alas I cannot wear nice clothes during the week. Sunday's are my day I dress nicely for church.😊
I think it’s important to always remember you are a person in your own right not just a mom. My Mom set the example for me and I carried it on as I raised my 5 children. She told me how you look affects how you feel . We had short aprons, one piece to the hips with criss cross back stripes so that you could throw them over your head to protect nice daytime clothes while you took care of the babies and toddlers and all that goes with it. I had figured out a simple 5 minute makeup routine which always included lipstick. The hardest part for me was that I had fine hair which I washed every day but I soon figured out how to get it blown dry in about five minutes. Sometimes when you first have your children it seems like you shouldn’t be entitled to time for yourself to look nice. It’s important to remember first you are a woman, second you are a wife or a life partner , third you are a Mom.
Working mostly remote now I wear mostly regular easy care tops I would have worn to work with a pair of jeans or other easy care bottoms. I love your video as it is true you can let yourself become sloppy and boring.
Just got mine, and I’m obsessed with how soft and gentle it feels on my skin. The fact that it’s wire-free is amazing-so much better for breast health!
I agree! I grew up seeing my stay at home mother looking out together every day. I did the same. It gave me such a different level of energy and focus than if I had a day of slouchy clothes and no effort. I agree that even jewelry makes a difference. May I ask about the bras? Do they separate? I have tried a few similar and I have been disappointed with the feeling that there is no separation.
I may have to try a lounge wear set, they do look chic when you wear them. For me, I think what makes the difference away from frumpy to chic is when it is a monochromatic set, I really like that! Thanks Jennifer!
Jennifer, were you peeping through my window or watching me at dawn while in the yard picking up my dogs treasures - LOL - I’m frumpy at that time of morning with pjs and robe. Now, I’m giving that dress wear a 2nd look - especially since I was caught by a well dressed young man watching me 😅 AND, the treasures LOL - thank you once again for your insights.
I love to look nice and put together even for a day at home. If not a nice lounge set; then jeans and a nice top. In summer love dresses and linen pants and tops. I always wear earrings, a simple necklace; wedding rings and bracelet. Looking nice really makes me feel good about myself. I have been asked "why are you so dressed up" more than once; even though I was in a simple casual outfit.
Jennifer, thank you so much for all the content you put out. It truly brightens my day. I want to report on Comfelie. I purchase one of their bras on your recommendation and it didn't go well. The bra is not built for small chested women (B cups) the material bunches and can only be worn with crew neck tops. On top of that their return policy is really bad. They only offer 7 days from arrival, all sorts of restrictions, no links on how to print any labels and I've tried to contact them many times over the phone with no luck. I've never experienced such a disappointing customer service from an online store.
Hello Jennifer, For the first time in my life, I put on my exercise skirt first thing in morning with a nice tee shirt so I’m ready to do my morning, afternoon and evening workouts. Certain days, I dress to do errands in town but being ready to exercise when I have energy and time is essential; this morning, I fit a workout in while Rachel was talking to her wedding day overseer: so far 350 guests. 😁
I enjoy your content so much but this is one area I differ. We have so many messy jobs around our house. Twice a year we have someone do cleanup and mulch in our yard, but the rest of the year my husband I are the yard crew. Our yard has an abundance of trees and wooded areas, therefore there are always sticks and branches that need to be picked up. This time of the year leaves, too. We have dogs that are lap dogs. When I’m at home I do not wear anything too precious, too many things have been ruined by red mud. I have a whole psychology about clothes. At home I want at home clothes. When I’m out and about I want out and about clothes, etc. This thought process came from dad-career Navy. As a child we always changed into home clothes, and were never allowed to wear “street” clothes at home. Now, if you came to my door would I look a mess? No, am I in my PJS-never, but I do wear joggers, sometimes jeans, sweaters, and or sweatshirts, but I can be out the door in less than five minutes because I have a “uniform” and my hair and makeup are usually tidy.
Your life sounds like a life that is full of abundance and beauty from the good outdoors, and to have lap dogs, makes it all sound even better! Life is about loving your home and all the people and animals that go along with that life. You my dear, are doing it all right, and you sound like someone who has a really good head on their shoulders...someone who knows what is important in life, and what really isn't too concerning....I envy you, I really do, and your jobs around your house aren't "messy jobs" they are in fact part of the jobs you do daily to keep that beautiful life of yours going, so look at it that way. You're doing everything you should be doing in the perfect order....so happy for you!!
Your lifestyle sounds similar to my parents. My Mum always wore dresses, and my Dad always wore a shirt and trousers. Then in their 30's, my parents bought a Smallholding and had cows, a pig, ducks, chickens, bees etc. For dirty work, my Mum changed into a top, trousers and wellies etc. My Dad donned overalls. When the work was done, they both changed back into their usual nice Home clothes. They also had lap dogs, and my Mum always put a thin blanket across her lap to protect her clothes. Their Home clothes were also presentable enough to wear outside the home.
This reminds me of a song by Point of Grace called “How You Live (Turn up the music) The lyric goes, “Wear your your red dress, use your good dishes, make a big mess and make lots of wishes…”
When I was a girl, my older brothers would tease me for wearing dresses. I'm over 40, and still to this day feel weird in dresses, and I think this is why.
Feel the fear and wear dresses if they bring you joy! Go for it ❤ 👗 consider yourself a style artist. All artists get criticized. Who cares?! Please YOURSELF
I love your fashion sense and thank you so much for the help. I can use it. Can you maybe give some ideas for me ? I work as a caregiver. At this time i care-give in our guest house for my son. So i definitely work at home. What can I wear instead of scrubs? I love clothes. But realistically my job is messy. Help!!!
My Mum was a Home Help for her job and wore a tabard or thin polyester checked shirt/housecoat style item. You can find them in workwear stores. She always wore a dress at home and when doing housework alwyas popped one of these items on over the top to protect her clothes.
Hi Jennifer - I loved you night dresses. What brands do you choose from? I'm a new follower of yours (around a month or two) and am loving the gentle advice and encouragement. Thank you.
Honestly I’m dressed for my self. I learned from my mother. In other hands if someone doesn’t like my style and do any comments or opinions. My answer going to be. Good cuz I not dress for you.!! Including my husband 😂. ( my husband love my style) just saying 😅❤
I bought a Comfelie bra and I love it. I will buy more !! The thumbnail picture for this video of you with your broomstick reminded me that Halloween is almost here ! 🧹 😊
Can anyone share any bra recommendations for bottom heavy breasts that are also "east west" shape? I need something that lifts and also provides side support without being thr traditional push up bra cups. An underwire is necessary for me as im 34ddd.
I’m in a rut with this because I’m at home with a toddler. Trying to remember no season lasts forever. I’m trying to get back to wearing nicer clothes at home.
I find myself wearing my workout clothes on days I’m working from home because “I’m going to work out eventually that day.” Sometimes the workout never happens… How to get rid of this laziness?!? And when do you choose to wear your cute loungewear at home as opposed to your regular outfits?
I assume You can wear lounge wear when you don't have any plans that day. But if you do get something unexpected, it wouldn't be hard to dress it up and be out the door. Or if you have a particularly busy day, you might want to wear the lounge wear to keep going
Ughh I want to do this sooo badly. I just feel so comfortable in sweatpants lol im going to overcome this belief though because I can't stand the fact that my son's want to wear sweatpants everywhere we go.
Hello Jennifer. I agree with all these points. I’ve going throw the awful experience of being not presentable at home and received an unexpected visit and oh my gosh, it was so hard to live and remember, so, since then, I try to be dressed up at home and if I don’t feel like that, I remember that moment and.. 😂 My mom always use presentable nightgown at home with beautiful slippers and when I was a tennager I couldn’t understand why she didn’t wear leggins and sweaters… Now, I’ve become my mum and I understand the reason. It’s nice and comfortable! 😊
I first learned about your channel listening to the Homemaker Chic podcast and have very much enjoyed all of your content ever since. Your book “Lessons from Madame Chic” is beautifully well written, and created a lovely framework for ideas and inspiration after reading it. Each video you put out is a delightful call to seek for the higher, better, more beautiful mindset for our own selves, regardless of who else is there to witness it. Because the one who witnesses it always and that it makes every difference to is our own selves and that is who should matter the most! I love it, and I love the boost of motivation and encouragement to live a beautiful life that I receive each time I interact with your content and writing!! What amazing work, and I appreciate you so much for sharing it! 🤗🤗🤗❤️❤️
Jennifer, I wish you had not changed the music in your videos. I preferred the old music. As a matter of fact, I adored it. Sad to say, I don't like this new one. Not to hurt your feelings, of course, but why change something if it's working. YOU DON'T SEE HIT SHOWS CHANGING THEIR MUSICAL THEME, DO YOU? So what possessed you to change yours? Just so disappointed that I had to tell you. This music you got rid of was so special. It had a sort of haunting touch to it and it always touched my heart. This music, Jennifer, was you, it was your vlog, it was your books!
Hi Lucille, We had copyright issues with that musical piece and even though I had permission from the artist to use it the videos kept getting flagged so unfortunately we had to stop using the song.
So, then, it was not because of you. Well, that is a consolation. Not your fault. So sad to have lost that amazing, haunting piece of music.@@TheDailyConnoisseur
Jennifer, I love you to death. But there is absolutely NOTHING in my wardrobe that I consider "comfortable". I DESPISE wearing a certain undergarment, which most women will have no problem identifying. If one is "large" in a certain area, there is no adequately designed garment that provides any measure of comfort. Women who are not large in a certain area will NEVER understand unless they themselves become substantially larger. And believe it or not, most plastic surgeons do not, repeat not, "like" to do reductions for those who are large. Such procedures are not joyful to perform. I know. I've talked to them. So, I don't invite people to my home. Perhaps not an optimal arrangement in your sight. But, I'm a faithful subscriber all the same.

Hello Jennifer
FYI …🔥there is current info on LMNT that you say you use. You may want to think twice what you’re consuming. There’s an undisclosed ingredient that can wreck havoc on your metabolism. There’s 10x more Maltodextrim in it. (Check out Dr Boz)
I can’t wait to try these! Thank you.
@@lucilleturpin4991 yes I have a specific outfit I like to wear when cleaning too. I find it helps me clean more and faster when I'm in my uniform!
You know you’ve arrived when you can dress nicely for the day, and your kids no longer assume it means you’re going somewhere. 😄
When my kid opens the car door at school pick up and sees that I look decent, he ALWAYS asks, “Where are we going?” 😂

Thank you so much for your comment. Sending much love ♥️
I admire your courage and attitude - sending you a big hug and well wishes!!

I love this! ♥
I'm not trying to be weird, but do you have a page or account where you show what you wear? I'd love to know how you are dressing nice for outdoor chores.
@@wisewomanhealingMe too!! I am about to embark on homesteading and I want to do it in style without looking like an out of her element city girl. 😂
Whenever I’m feeling frumpy I pull out my “Keeping up appearances “ collection and am instantly perked up!

my husband regularly upgrades our home, he said i deserve a beautiful office.
I love this 😂
@@TheDailyConnoisseurme too! Fine by 9 is my new thing!
I have to share . . . Since retirement, there are days I could likely live in lounge / athleisure. And honestly Jennifer, I believe your influence has kept me from the acceptability of sweats all day. I dress for the day including makeup and fragrance! My husband always asks . . . “Where are you going?” I always say, “I’m dressed to romance my / the day!” (😂 He needs an influencer😅 to gently suggest him out of pj’s and softies! )
I know I have told you this before, but you are endeared as a life coach by me!
Have a best blessed week!
Love,
Lynne
I love it!
Lol this is funny 🤣
I always look forward to your videos. Your voice is so calming and I appreciate every topic you bring up.
Ah, thank you so much!
I always feel better when I take the time to get ready in the morning.🌸
Love this!
❤
This is my goal too. I'm still on step 1: decluttering my closet 😅
Hi Jennifer, you always say the right thing. Thanks for this video. I work from home, and tend to dress as I am going to an office.
Hi, I was wondering how you spend your days in retirement? Would you be happy to share?
You have really motivated me to do this. I am intentionally getting dressed in something that looks good and putting on my makeup daily. Im feeling so much better about myself and I m always ready for whatever comes along in my day, like jumping in the car for a quick trip to the store, or for a visit from a friend family. Thank you.
Life is your art form and you are the Artist. Your character is your avatar. Dress to bring JOY to yourself and others. Uts FUN!! If people dont like it, so what?! All artists get criticized. Its part of the ceeative process ❤
Yes! ♥
Try turtlenecks as well! I love the look of a turtleneck under a dress with leggings
I can attest that Comfelie is fabulous brand. I have always enjoyed dressing well, it just makes the day and interactions with others better for me….Thank you for this lovely video
Ive always dressed well everywhere i go.. at home . I just feel more productive. I feel good.
This is a great way to extend the life of a beloved but worn dress-keep that for the messy jobs-enjoy the memories and the style.
Yes. Demoted but not gone! I do this Alot with everyday things too 😅
My grandma always dressed nice even at home. I admired her for that. She said you just never know who you might see even at home.
Jennifer, you always look lovely in any of the outfits you wear. Thank you for the encouraging, uplifting video ❤
I love wearing Miss Elaine satin pajamas.
I love this topic. Excited to hear what you have to say!
Thank you for watching! ♥
Where do you get skirts that hold up?
😀 yay
Hello Jennifer,
I just retired from the hospital.
I love the importance of each of your jewelry pieces
I have this issue too. I haven't found a solution
I actually like how your covid look sounds! Simple, presentable, and cozy.
I get out my tiara when I am dreading the task!! 😉

I don't get the slogan. Can you explain?
I got a negative comment from my own mom via my sister. Mom told her I dress up just to go to the store and that I was putting on airs. 🙄 But you know what… even though it stung I decided I dress for myself and my own sense of well being, not to make her happy. So don’t let ANYONE stop you from your own progress or expressing/finding your own style. 👗 💍 And by the way… encourage the women who are trying to do/be better 👑 ♥️
I oftentimes get nice comments from other women when I am dressed nicely when I go out. It does make a difference. 😊
@@crterwil yes! And you get treated better 😊 🤷🏻♀️
Soon, she will get used to it and recognize it isn't "airs" but just your way of life! Keep it up if it's working for you!
Often, it's family that will try to sabotage our good efforts. Perhaps by dressing nicely to go shopping, your family members feel that their own dress standards are lacking. Be true to yourself. Don't lower your standards for others. Best wishes.
Because you are fabulous dahhhling. You are champagne 🍾
Having a capsule wardrobe you love and dressing well everyday are both empowering. Once you begin dressing well every day, extending that into your sleepwear is a must. These practices all beget an elegance that extends into your attitude and behaviors.
I have to dress up every day for work, so when I can slob out, I do it with enthusiasm.
😂 lol i love this..balance is key 😂
Wow! That sounds amazing! Please come back and tell us how it all went. I love all things Agatha 😍
The way you described your adventure, I am excited for you too 😄 Have a great time, it sounds amazing ❤

Yup nice top. Sweatpants on bottom for me too. It works!
Jennifer can you talk about your ring stack and the significance of each ring? 💍
I agree with your philosophy, which is why I mostly wear dresses now
Love this bra! The skin-friendly fabric makes it so comfortable to wear all day. Plus, it’s wire-free, which is such a bonus for breast health! 💖
Hello. I am curious about the bra... Can you remove the molded cups? The bras look very nice, but I really dislike molded cups. Thanks!
Why is wire free better for breast health? What's the science behind that?
Just got mine, and I’m obsessed with how soft and gentle it feels on my skin. The fact that it’s wire-free is amazing-so much better for breast health!
Why is wire free better for breast health? What's the science behind that?
I need to work on this. Thank you for the encouragement!
I think this is a great reminder! Thx Jennifer

Hi Jennifer, I purchased two Comfelie bras on your recommendation, and I absolutely love them! They truly are extremely comfortable.
I'm so glad! Yes, they are very comfortable!

It sounds like you already do the tips suggested by Jennifer
This reminds me of a song by Point of Grace called “How You Live (Turn up the music) The lyric goes, “Wear your your red dress, use your good dishes, make a big mess and make lots of wishes…”
Have you ever tried cashmere joggers? ❤
😢❤
Now you know the reason, it's time to banish the belief!
Important job! ❤ I think it's fine to wear scrubs at work and then wear your clothes when not working
Exacttly! Thank you
Hi Jennifer - I loved you night dresses. What brands do you choose from? I'm a new follower of yours (around a month or two) and am loving the gentle advice and encouragement. Thank you.
She has great videos on presentable sleepwear. Highly recommend you check out those videos!
I love this!❤
Honestly I’m dressed for my self. I learned from my mother. In other hands if someone doesn’t like my style and do any comments or opinions. My answer going to be. Good cuz I not dress for you.!! Including my husband 😂. ( my husband love my style) just saying 😅❤
Yes 🔥
I bought a Comfelie bra and I love it. I will buy more !! The thumbnail picture for this video of you with your broomstick reminded me that Halloween is almost here ! 🧹 😊
Can anyone share any bra recommendations for bottom heavy breasts that are also "east west" shape? I need something that lifts and also provides side support without being thr traditional push up bra cups. An underwire is necessary for me as im 34ddd.
What piano books do you use?
I’m in a rut with this because I’m at home with a toddler. Trying to remember no season lasts forever. I’m trying to get back to wearing nicer clothes at home.
Presentable lounge wear if your budget (and time!) allows! ❤
I find myself wearing my workout clothes on days I’m working from home because “I’m going to work out eventually that day.” Sometimes the workout never happens… How to get rid of this laziness?!? And when do you choose to wear your cute loungewear at home as opposed to your regular outfits?
Change out of your workout clothes when done!
My mom always use presentable nightgown at home with beautiful slippers and when I was a tennager I couldn’t understand why she didn’t wear leggins and sweaters… Now, I’ve become my mum and I understand the reason. It’s nice and comfortable! 😊
HI I, AGREE 👍 GETTING PRETTY 👗🥿💄👄IS VERY IMPORTANT.
Спасибо, эта информация в сундучке сокровищ для жизни.
❤❤❤
How can I scrub the bathroom with bleach in my nice clothes?
You don't have to. You change once the task is done. That's the point!
Thank you so much. I’m so glad you’re here! ♥️
🥰
Which piece are you referring to? Can you name the title of the video so I can hear it again?
Have you tried getting fitted? It does help because most people wear the wrong size!
