Here I am watching your video tearing up...for me you are that flower plant pushing up through the snow. You bring so much joy to us, just like that yellow daffodil. You make me smile with your flowers and stories. You are a natural artist. Thank you for making these beautiful videos and spreading joy. You are like a rainbow on a cloudy day.☀️🙌❤️
I have a mixture of faux silk and live plants. No one notices the difference. Plants can be a gamechanger. You never disappoint. Peace health and blessings from Atlanta.
I love cut foliage and flowers for indoors. Potted plants for outdoor patios and areas that can take hardcore power washing and cleaning. Too messy looking for indoors. I am blessed to have a garden. Thank you.
I love that you’ve featured a video on indoor plants! I’ve been Obsessed with indoor plants and creating my indoor urban jungle. I’m a big fan of Planterina’s videos too. 😆
Really enjoyed this video! Thank you for taking us through every room and providing options! My favorite takeaway from your video was “Look up, look to the sides, look to the floor” for plant placement - appreciate the content and effort, thank you!
Lovely tip about caring for plants for mental well-being; and just getting one that you would like to care of as a starting point. Very good advice. Yes please to low-lighting plants 🪴 video.
My goodness Julie you are the diva expert on fiddly fig’s thank you so much for all that awesome information and how you cherish them and as a mama has nurtured them I just love that I am not an owner of one but in our church my husband takes care of them and we have some that have grown!! so all your information is going to be very helpful he was having a little problem with the leaves falling and browning and you touched on that subject which is very helpful to us now to know exactly what to do once again I appreciate your wisdom and knowledge thank you so much I know that you do Be blessed
Love that you did a video on this! I seriously have no green thumb, but I do have a Christmas cactus (was a gift from a coworker) that I’ve managed to keep alive for several years now and it’s now finally beginning to show it’s beautiful blooms! 🪴🌺 P.S. I can’t wait to check out all the plant-related video links below as well! Thank you 😊
Indoor plants were all the rave in the seventies, then they were gone! I’m glad to see them making a comeback - along with the hand-made macrame hangers!
I would like a video of indoor plants that need low light. Any plants that can survive in the bathroom would be great too. Also, plants that can go long without watering. Would be great for when on vacations.
Great ideas Julie! I got a fiddle leaf fig after watching your earlier video. I have now added a monstera, snake plant and rubber trees. I only had one tiny plant before lockdown. Lol. I've been watching CrazyPlantGuy and realised the reason I killed all my plants was overwatering. Next, I will have to check if olive trees are available in my region. They look so beautiful. Thanks for the inspiration Julie.
Julie, I enjoyed this video, and I think I like you even more now that I know you're a Gardener! A year ago, I brought home a Chinese Fan Palm that has 9 leaves in varying heights, the tallest almost touching the modest ceiling in my living room that's a smidge too long. It has a great effect in the space. There wasn't room for the Christmas tree because of this, but it was worth the sacrifice. I would encourage anyone with interest to try a really big plant!
I love the term "junglow" ☺️ I took you advise from the entryway video and added 2 potted plants. I also have hanging plants in either corner on the opposite end. Thanks again for another great video
Thank you soo much again Ms. Julie. This is very important to me because, I love to put plants anywhere in my house, this will help me a lot to organize.
This is so incredible how plants can transform a space, make it more warm and welcoming. It might just be the missing piece to my design.Thank you for enlightening and inspiring me!
Thank you Julie for this video. Yes I would love to see some low light plants and anything you have to share with us. I have had houseplants since my teens and have always loved them...having the outside inside. When we bought our house and had no furniture a bunch of those Jenny Craig corn plant trees (I think thats what they are called) helped to fill empty space. Have a great day ♥️
I was up till early hours watching your videos I’m still in track to the rules and have influenced a lot of people with feng shui if only to get mirror out bed room cover and tv and move bed if possible! I’m 66 and retiring soon woo hoo! ♥️🏴 England
I am a huge plant freak-about 80 at last count. I find they do a great job of defying our engineered, architectural indoor spaces where everything has a hard edge and meets everything else at 90°. It’s this random, organic shape that does what it’s going to do and thus loosens up the space. I think the Norfolk Island Pine deserves mention. It’s this typical mini Christmas tree that you buy for $10 or $20 every year around Christmas at the grocery store, but with some care, in a year or two it grows to triple its size, or more. It needs some attention but is certainly far less fussy than the fiddle leaf fig. Also worthy of mention is the snake plant (this thing grows anywhere, low light, high light, it doesn’t care), and its shape (narrow and vertical) works well amongst other plants (for contrast), or in a tight space, all on its own. Also, unlike other elements of interior design, house plants are forgiving. You can mix and match different shapes or do a mass of the same plant with no mixing and it never looks wrong.
Thank you for watching and the introduction to the Norfolk Island Pine J! Just looked it up, it’s way more modern than it sounds. Love the wispy leaves, sculptural on its own. Thank you for the insight, your space sounds fabulous 😍
HA! Yesterday, I ordered my first plant (ZZ plant) for my apt. It arrives tomorrow and the timing of this video is perfect! PLEASE do a low-light plants vdeo!!!
I have an "awkward" niche and it's perfect for trailing plants. I keep it minimal so it's not distracting but it draws your eyes up to my tall ceilings 😊
I'm closing on my house. I am truly enjoying your tips on decorating...by the way i have 3 extremely large plants...a mother- in- law plant that's about 8 feet tall, a small 5 leaf umbrella plant about 4 feet tall and a 7 feet large leaf umbrella plant. I can't wait to see where i'm going t put them..i call them.. The Brothers. Again...Thanks!!💛🌹
Love, love this video and have always loved my plants. I really like the images with plants in stands at differing heights. Living in a small town, I struggle to resource these items. Suggestions for good on-line resources Julie? Keep these videos coming!
I needed this video!! I tried to grow a few Fiddle Fig trees n they just died!! Now I’m getting lovely faux ones! I tried! 😥😥. Yours look beautiful. I saw your video on indoor plants.
Also check out grow lights. Even some "normal" led lights or florescent bulbs will help, especially if the light is a cool white/daylight, and quite strong. Some of these options can be used with a normal light fixture if you don't like the look of a grow light, just make sure the light is close enough to the plant and maybe use a reflective surface like a mirror under the plant to maximise the effect. Consider moving your plants around to ensure they all get bright light at some point (but be careful not to move a plant from a dark corner straight to a bright window as that could cause sun shock).
In addition to the other great suggestions above, ferns thrive in a lower light level. Some ferns are much hardier than others. Also, philodendron, pothos, ivy prefer low light.
You need to start relying on more seasonal plants which do not last more than a season(if you can afford it) while rotating plants that you have noticed do well in your space. No plants will do or look well long term in a less than ideal space. Seasonal plants look great for a month or two and they can take center stage until they are replaced by whatever is available in the following season. This provides nice variety too, but it comes at a cost. Nowadays plants are quite inexpensive though, lucky you! You can keep “signature plants”, rotate them from less than ideal spots back to where they do well and have better growing conditions.
I live on the 6th floor of a high rise.I love having indoor plants and outdoors on the balcony. I have South facing windows and balcony.Whats the best kind of plants?
So many pretty spaces on your video . I try to get ideas on decor to use, placement of items. I always get overwhelmed on just what to do !! I like so many styles. Where can we find affordable art , wall hangings that aren’t framed pics or canvas ? I love this video on plants though. Taking down plant ideas. Thanks. Please do more of these videos !!!
I love Minted and Etsy for affordable art Mags. I link a ton more art vendors in the small space video and the finishing touches episode in the small space series, check them out! 🙏🏻☺️
I put plants on my window sills mostly where they get indirect light, then on tables, plant stands, near windows. I haven't got alot of space or tall ceilings, but I utilise what I have. I have plants on my dining table as there's alot of light. My FLF is outside during the day, it's not too big to move yet, I haven't had it long.

There are some realistic looking silk plants at Michaels , Hobby Lobby, JoAnn Fabrics, or you can try dried plants!
