No Suzuki ,no shootout !
I would also like to see new Triumph and Ducati to make list complete.
No number 95
Easiest to ride = Kawasaki , Gas Gas , Husky . Most competitive out of the box = KTM, Yamaha , Honda .
Yamaha all day baby!
Just pick a favourite colour guys, theyre all excellent bikes..Suzuki is also a good bike..I stil have the 2005 yz450f left from my dad and it rips😊
RMZ is very underated they are great bikes
Wish I could find an old rm smoker as a project plenty 2000-2005 ktms but not great resale I want either a Honda or susuki from they years 250 125 doesn't matter just something I can nut and bolt modern resto but they are getting harder to find
IMO, just ride what you're comfortable and confident on!!!
We agree
Well ofc but these shootouts serve as a good foundation to build off of when looking for a new bike being unable to test every one yourself.
This is by far the best shoot out yet on the 450's , Ron Lawson is the perfect narrator ,and I like there number system on each category , been a subscriber to the magazine since the late 70's , this just proves why!
I'm surprised the new Honda didn't make the top three. I was disappointed that that the 4th to last place was not mentioned in this video. However, thanks for your opinion.
Digging the new format
Thank You!
I was convinced Honda or Yamaha would be top two in all the shootouts this year but I was incorrect . The Husky seems absolutely ideal and I loved the way you reviewed the bikes , my favorite out of all the shootouts for sure .
no jap bike will ever make top 2 on this channel their euro lovers. yamaha has topped every other shootout then these guys dont have it top 3
3 KTMs a Yamaha, Kawasaki and a Honda. The choice for me is easy no KYB suspension no purchase.
We only see one KTM in this shootout? Are we watching the same video?
@@DirtBikeMagazine yes we are and there are 3 ktm's.
I'm riding Ktm's for over 20 Years. Actually Husqv Fe 350, Sxf 250 and SX 150, together with my kids. KTM, Hqv, Gas Gas are All the same, with different settings!@@DirtBikeMagazine
14:20
Funny other magazines picked the Yamaha hands down! Sorry but I want a bike that does everything and is the most reliable. Yamaha has all that covered for years!
No beta, or Suzuki, no shootout
LOL
Ask Roczen how to be competitive on yellow bike… he proved it on the KTM, Honda, Suzuki. Every motorcycle can be top 1 with good setup. Put back the Suzuki to the shootout ! So underrated bike…
@@rsmtuneremaps3505 The Suzuki is completely NON COMPETITIVE unless it's fully updated like Kens bike . These bikes are all stock.
For Suzuki, just watch the 2019 bike test/shootout and 6 years later the opinions/result will be the same as they were back then.
@@DirtBikeMagazine Frankly, if I was a puppet for the big 6, I wouldn't want to include TM, BETA, OR SUZUKI, in my shootout either.
Yamaha 2025❤
I like the approach on this shootout, good info!
Thank you! Appreciate it!
Umm...something is not adding up..? Every other shootout has the Yamaha WAY out front...
The only shootout we know that's been released is Swap. What "every other shootout" are you referring to?
@@DirtBikeMagazine see DBM no one’s buying your bs review.
Such a smoothing voice. I feel like a kid again, hearing the best night night story.
That green bike looks awesome
Suzuki and Ducati???
Great job on the video. The testing format and, my goodness, the soundtrack make watching this very enjoyable!
BLUCRU!!
Thank you very much!
another great shootout video as usual. I mostly think the standard rider cant tell much difference other than personal fit and simple natural riding style, all great bikes in the end.
Can’t wait to see Tomac on the Yamaha! He makes those bikes sing.
Honda cannot win lol. People complained that it was too fast, hit too hard, pulled too much. They tone it down and now the complaint is that it doesn’t have enough. If I was Honda I would just copy Husq power characteristics and call it a day
give me a good old Japanese bike. I tried a 21 Husqvarna te300i for off road for a couple years then picked up a used 22 crf250r and after getting the suspension setup it is super fun, easy to ride and slices in and out of tight Enduro trails very well.sold the Husqvarna
There isn't an off-road two stroke or 250 in this video though. Comparing apples to oranges.
I’m still pissed I had to deal with the 4CS. Zero chance I’m getting anything Austrian until they come with something other than the AER
When someone in an analysis says that KTM and Husqvarna are really different (beyond nuances), I already know that the rest of the comparison is for dummies.
i think that results seem so weird because of test riders skills
in sml shootout most of riders are ex-pros so they can handle that yamaha power
but still i just dont get what is wrong with power delivery considering the fact that you have powertuner app
when i got my yamaha yz 450f i was also a bit confused with how explosive the power was, but i nstalled kefeer map, turned traction control in low position and power was smooth down low and it was easy to rev higher. smooth low end, strong mid range and rocketship hight end makes the bike easy to ride fast and agressive. customisation is the key feature when you buy a yamaha. previously i owned 2023 husky fc 450 and i was shocked with how slow bike was accelerating. i mean, how slow rpms went high. it was so annoying beacuse austrians traditionnaly have the “best” power higher than any other 450 bike
All our our test riders in this video are former pros lol. We don't base our results off pro level riding. We take input from all riding levels, age, weight, etc.
I’ve been on ktm for awhile now looking at getting another 450 currently riding a 18.5 ktm which I love and will keep I’m kinda leaning towards the husky right now basically for the same reasons you mentioned. Great video guys.
Thank you for the positive feedback!
If you like your current KTM you will hate the new chassis. Closest new bike to that plush feel is the Kawi
I don't watch shoot outs, I was a professional motocross racer in the late seventies and early 80s, I raced what I could get my hands on, and today I could care less what color my bike is, if you're fast it doesn't matter
So having a bike that fits your riding style, speed, height, weight, age.....doesn't matter? You must be really good!
@@DirtBikeMagazine This guy is old and a knowitall🤣.
Honestly surprised the Honda wasn’t top 3. The motor is very well connected to the dirt, but still super fast. Fit feel and finish is always the best being a Honda, and this year the chassis and suspension caught up. Guess we’ll see what mxa says.
As a vet rider I’m most interested in the GasGas and the Kawi
Interesting. How come?
@@DirtBikeMagazineThe smoother power delivery ( I don’t like a herky jerky feel in the bottom end) and the seats look more comfortable than the other bikes! 😂
I have a 25 CRF450R & the power is amazingly smooth, yet has some "meaty torque" to it. Also own a 20.5 Rockstar FC450 & prefer the Honda motor hands-down. My only real gripe w/the bike is fork bottoms too easily (41y/o, 6'2" 215lbs). Currenly running COMP 3 clicks out 😂 Shock is good. Good luck man!
@@coldsteeloffroadYeh I’m 6”3 and 225lbs so I would have to get the springs changed whatever the bike. Honda is on my list, not keen on the thin seat, not a fan of monkey butt 😂
Why are people so surprised that Suzuki is not in the shoot out? It’s been unchanged for years. What more is there to say about that manufacture until it finally will change. When it finally gets updates, then it makes sense to put it in a shoot out. Yes triumph and Ducati should be in the shootout.
Triumph doesn’t make a 450 yet and Ducati doesn’t have bikes available to the public yet
DIRTBIKE MAGAZINE and others who contribute a lot of time and effort to these shootouts should seriously consider not bothering to do them anymore . All you get is non stop stupid questions that everybody with a functioning brain already knows the answer to and criticism that is completely unwarranted .
Ironically, if KTM goes under, the not-included Suzuki might come in 3rd...
Your ranking is crazy dumb. They’ve been paid obviously.
1) Yamaha obviously 2) Honda or Kawi 3) the ktm’s
LOL . We wish we got paid. You sound like you know a lot ! How long have you been testing bikes?!
@@DirtBikeMagazinebeen testing for 69 years tomorrow.
Oh so these companies just magically happen to give you early exclusive access to their bikes every year? And you chose the Husqvarna lol, the weirdo lowered KTM that's the most expensive. Maybe they don't directly pay you but it's understood your going to get a lot of views and the companies aren't going to keep bringing their bikes to get slammed in the reviews.
@criddler13 have you ever rode a ktm?
@@rydrogue421 rode a new ktm for 69 years, and your mom.
Weres the beta 450rx... this isnt a shoot out its reality show
Kawi should be number 1 this year they did so much
Explain your theory
@@DirtBikeMagazine they are just overall good bikes sure they made them under powered but you can add on so much stuff to make the power to your liking just like the Suzuki as much as I like my ktm450 sometimes it is way too much to handle even though it is very linear!
What are you talking about THEY DID NOTHING didn't you hear what they said , it remains UNCHANGED .
@@grahamhenry3436 the 2024-2025 kx 450 is 9 pounds heavier then the 2019-2023 kx450. the power is tamer (the 2019 needed more power and they made it less?) the suspension is softer, (A class riders need stiffer), and the stock rims are junk, bent 2 sets of them, one the first day i rode it.
price of the bike 9,999
price to fix the issue
ECU-1500
exhaust-1500
suspention revalve-1500
wheels-1500
overall price of the bike after 15K and your bike is still 9 pounds heavier than it was before.
@@Zackrey507mx Don't forget the excessive engine vibration that was mentioned about the Kawi .
I usually love Dirtbike Mag's shootout, but this seemed boring as hell.
Can you guys do the 2025 250cc shoot out
These shootouts need to stop pretending they are not riding 3 KTMs. The bikes are not different enough to claim this shit same frames same engines end of story. All can be mapped the same and can have the same components it’s completely irrelevant no one leaves a bike stock. can’t wait until KTM drops one or both other brands maybe their current financial problems will expedite that process.
Dude just with an murican brand and you are golden since they build the best dirtbikes in the world😂
Well, you might already be aware but they are not necessarily unbiased.
@@kevbaken oh I know MXAs orange helmets are clearly paid for now. They used to openly support Suzuki now they are clearly paid by PMG ktms parent company. Dirt bike I’m not sure about but it seems like they need better test riders at the very least.
come on three of them bikes are nearly the same
We would agree they are similar and even more of a reason you can't split them with out bikes. If they are "the same" as you say. The accuracy would be they all line up together with no other brands between them......have you seen the OTHER shootouts yet?
@@DirtBikeMagazine no not seen any other shootouts is just constructive criticism not at the magazine more over the the ktm group i think in the near future husky and gas gas will be sold or gone as ktm looks in trouble 3.5 billion down to a billion wear as honda for instant is a multi trillion dollar buisiness
im bias with Honda.Kinda sad that we dont see the yellow beast in this shootout. However, you look at Suzuki's bike. Yes! it hasn't changed for probably more than a decade. However, when Kenny's riding it, it tops the top 5 if not wins a race. I don't know if we put Jet, Chase, Eli on the yellow beast, I guess it'll be up there too.
Even if suzuki had been able to be in this comparison, and even if they changed a bunch of stuff and made it way better. These people would still rank it last, just because it doesn’t have kickstart doesn’t mean it’s a bad bike. Any local pro on their machine would not beat Kenny in a race. If you do why are you racing local?
Sweet
SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT :
@DirtBikeMagazine
"Suzuki has requested a few years in a row to not be in the shootout"
Thank you for respecting that request , if I was Suzuki I wouldn't want to come in last place every year either , it's embarrassing .
What’s more embarrassing is that they won’t do anything about it.
@@CodySimoncelli-of7xx That's on Suzuki not Dirt Bike Magazine.
Correct that’s what I was implying.
weird concept, but why not just put all the supercross brands in the shootout?
Kawi, Suzuki, Honda, Yami, KTM, Husky, Beta, and GasGas

What happens if the test riders did timed laps on each. Be interesting to see what they are actually faster on as opposed to what they just think n feel 🤷♂️
If you never own a Suzuki , best say anything...!!! For majority of users, its the best choice .!!! Its like Toyota Bike ...!!!! Only fews became champions, but on this bike you get fun and reliable bike...!!! that is the point of majority...!!! kick start??? its for mens....!!!!
But why didn't you also include Fantic, Beta and Ducati in the test? Maybe because they are Italian brands??
Where's the zuki..... Kenny will be pissed.
What a tough job you folks have at DBM!
If you don't pick somebody's favorite color, you have to endure a barrage of negative comments.
I appreciate the review from a panel of experienced vet riders giving honest opinions. I didn't see anywhere where it is mandatory to follow those opinions. If somebody wants a different bike, get it!
These comments are crazy
Is the weight of the motorcycles indicated with fuel and oil, or dry weight?
Where's Suzuki??!!!!!!
@shadowkick2852 so far ahead the others can't catch up.
So far ahead the others can't catch up.
They asked to not be featured
Watch the 2018 review
you ranked the husky 1st. ktm 2nd kawa 3rd, but what about the rest
We left it up to our viewers. They are all good bikes but the latter 3 can be decided based on your own riding style, riding level, age, use, etc. Look at the individual rankings and see which bike fits you the best.
I was expecting Honda to be top 3 considering they rated it high on almost all tests.
@@smauller623 I think all the bikes were so good that it was hard to decide what to rate one above the other, the Yamaha has always been a excellent bike so it was probably harder to rate below the Honda and the gas gas although being a simple bike still had the same chassis and engine as the husqvarna which was rate first, so I think all the bikes were so good it was hard to put any of them in last place and it just came down to personal preference/ brand loyalty etc, i personally would purchase either the Honda or husqvarna, I’m a Honda fan boy since I was a 5 year old kid but also the husqvarna looks good and seems to have the advantage over the Honda
I guess Suzuki figures that they can't come in last place if their bike isn't in the shootout.
No Suzuki feels weird 😢
New Suzuki RMZ 450?
😂 I don't recall the Suzuki RMZ 450 ever being available for side by side comparison😅
Hmmm. You must have missed some shootouts last year!
No Beta? 🥲
Unavailable
It's a wet noodle, any other questions?
Why’s there no 95
I have always had Kawi 450s my 21 KX is a fun lively bike. I’m on the fence this year between a YZ and a KX.
Look at our star ratings portion of the video to really see how those two bikes perform. What is more important to you when you are riding? Also we've noticed that some of our test riders that steer with the rear of the bike more like the Yamaha while some of our test riders that like to hang more over the front like the Kawasaki. Hope this helps a little bit
@@DirtBikeMagazine I’m a rear steering rider. I failed to mention I’m a 190lbs vet rider that’s 46. So I’m leaning more towards the kawi. Thanks dirtbike magazine for the info. Really enjoyed your shootout.
@@toddalan5603 Wait to watch more shootouts before you decide , you will be very surprised just how dominant a certain bike is over all the others . DirtBike magazine does a great job but goes against the consensus of other shootouts .
If I can't change the weak mapping then I wouldn't want the gasgas
You can buy the map switch. The 2nd map is loaded into the bike you just can't access it without the switch
Where's the yellow bike?
Stop asking stupid questions .
@@2216sammy I'll rip your ass on my Suzuki no matter what bike you ride. Ive Been on a yellow bike since 1988 and have beaten every bike in the classes I've run from 80 to 250 . I'm not saying its the best out there dude, it's probably rated last .....but I still win on it. 2 strokes for different folks plus 4 strokes are for men with vaginas.
@@ryanheinrichs9574 Dude, nobody gives a shit about you or your Suzuki . You know damn well like everybody else does why the Suzuki is not included , the reason has been crystal clear so why continue to ask stupid questions that everybody with a functioning brain already knows the answer to . How many times do you want Dirt Bike magazine to repeat themselves ?
@@2216sammy I'd rip your ass on my rm. No matter what your riding. I've been racing Suzuki's since 1992 and have beaten every bike out there. The best in the world 99 rode Suzuki....who's stupid now punk?

no more suzuki😢
They're still around but if you saw our last year shootout....they would have placed the same as that.
It’s a distant last place. Why bother including it?
Wish you guys would have considered the Husky/KTM both as one pick instead of wasting two on essentially the same bike.
1 Inch lower seat height difference, different handlebars, different suspension settings, different body work which changes cock pit, slightly different air box...........different bikes and perform different.
@@DirtBikeMagazine So if I took the CRF450, modified the body work, revalved the suspension, lowered the suspension and put on pro taper handlebars, I could call it not a Honda?

Love Dirt Bike Mag and Not hating, but ranking only the top three is kinda lame. Makes you guys look like lazy…
Why 450's? Why not 500cc? Ducati looks better!
Sad to see no Suzuki, but since they haven't changed much (if at all) since 2018 I guess there's not much point including it.
Will the RM-Z250 be in the 250 shootout?
If we can get our hands on one we will include it probably
Where is Suzuki!!!
Suzuki has requested a few years in a row to not be in the shootout.
Yama ftw!!
Only if you want to race . This was a "Joe average" best bike test and Yamaha IS NOT for a Joe average weekend warrior type rider .
