    *Construction seemed sturdier than other units I considered **MyBest.Tools** Noise level was reasonable. Good pressure and cfm capacity for a small reasonably light compressor.*

    I purchased a Home Depot Husky 33 gallon air compressor years ago. Had it a few months, used now and then to air up tires and it developed a whopper of a leak at the manifold. I took it to an authorized dealer; it took over six months to get it back because of time for approval of repair under warranty, waiting for parts and the time it took them to get around to "fixing" it. It still leaks air; even after I turn the pressure regulator gauge to "0" with a full tank of pressurized air it will be empty the next morning. The only other Husky brand item ever I purchased was a very nice looking 2 drawer pre-assembled rolling shop table; after moving it into my garage, I attempted to open the drawers, and ball bearings rolled all over my garage floor. So much for the quality of Husky products. BTW, if the leaks are subtle, use a mixture of water and Dawn detergent and brush it over any suspect areas; bubbles will appear where the slow leaks are.

    Fortunately couplers aren't that expensive so I'm planning on picking up some Kobalt couplers at Lowe's. Since my accessory kit only came with female end couplers, I might buy two at Lowe's so that they'll match and I can also have the adapter it came with back for if I ever need it for another application. I bought my compressor used and it only had one coupler installed and the old one is very dirty, I think it may be part of my problem.

    Here’s my problem, I hope you can help. My tank can gain and keep pressure, but with the hose unplugged/off the compressor, air leaks out of the end of the coupler. With a hose and tool plugged into it, I can’t get air into the hose. Any idea what the problem can be?

    • @DIYwithMichaelBorders
      @DIYwithMichaelBorders  Рік тому

      Thanks for watching & this is a very common experience. There are different types of fittings.
      Some fittings can hold air pressure inside tank without hose being connected while other fittings require the hose to be connected so air does not leak out.
      Either way, since your fitting is not allowing air into the tank, a new fitting will most likely resolve your issues. Knowing the differences between the two types of fittings, you can pick the one that best fits your mission.
      Keep us posted on your DIY project.
