  • Performers from the Korean National Gugak Center present a variety of Korean folk music and dance to demonstrate the abundance and profoundness of Korea’s traditional heritage. It includes sinawi, an instrumental ensemble with improvisation derived from shamanistic music, and pansori, a deeply moving musical genre combining narrative song, storytelling, and body movements accompanied by solo percussion. Performed as part of the First Annual Korean Culture Week, presented by the Korean Cultural Center, Washington, D.C.

구슬픈 역사 속에서도 늘 살아내왔던 우리 조상님들의 얼이 담겨있는 소리네요

I saw a performance at the Gugak Center in 2019. It was absolutely spectacular and entirely free. I'd recommend it to anyone visiting Seoul.

One of few aspects that I can kinda get a Turkic undertone vibe from Korean culture. Soooo cool
