Oh wow!! I've only attended Indian weddings growing up in America but I'm definitely having a mix of American and Indian culture when I get married.
We used to make these cakes all the time in ice cream. People used to go crazy for these ice cream wedding cakes decorated just like this.

You nailed the old school feel with this cake even by putting a twist with the black stand. I`m loving the nostalgia, it reminds me of those old school wedding cake magazines I used to look at when I was a kid.
You got the southern church wedding style cake down pat! This brought flashbacks of mauve taffeta bridesmaid dresses and all the old lady relatives with red lipstick kissing your cheek and staining it forever. Love your videos, you always have great cakes and they're a lot of fun to watch! Thank you!

Im originally from West Georgia and his narration of the entire reception - food, drama etc was on point. I have seen so many wedding cakes in that style - and the reception was held usually at the church or the VFW. lol thank you for the retro memories! :)
It's amazing how just painting everything black made it look like something I wouldn't even mind seeing at a wedding again! You might have just brought back the fountain/stair old-school wedding cake!!

This reminds me of my childhood. My mom owned a bridal shop and she did EVERYTHING, dresses, flowers, makeup, cake, etc. And this style of cake was at EVERY wedding! My mom even did the whole fountain and everything for one of my birthdays. Thanks for making this video!
My Grandmother made cakes for 40 some years and I have a HUGE album filled with cakes like these she made. Watching this video made me cry, Mamaw took care of us before and after school for years I can't count how many of these I watched her build. How many I helped crumb coat... I helped paint the bridesmaids and grooms! I miss these cakes so much, I miss the time with my Mamaw I hate you so much for making me cry over cake.

All of my grandma's clients wanted cakes like this back in the '80s. I started having flashbacks to my childhood! 😂 All I really remember about this era is all the pearly pastel colors on everything and how she sprayed all her cakes with edible glitter... so.much.glitter!

Actually, I find the Old School type wedding cakes more Beautiful and Appealing then today's weird looking designs. This cake is Beautiful and it looks like a Wedding Cake!! Super Great Job!! Wow, my parents got married in the 80’s and I kid you not their cake looked very similar to this! They had a fountain running through their’s as well, a couple tiers etc, so crazy I didn’t know this was a thing back then

This episode further solidified the reasons why I adore this series. Joshua along with the production crew have an amazing chemistry together, it's always a delight to watch. The misunderstanding regarding the set decorations and Joshua's suit were hilarious.

Seriously, I used to look at the Wilton Yearbooks and DROOL (figuratively, not literally) all over photos of cakes like this back in the 80's! I would fill out the order blanks, pretending I was gonna spend $300 on all the tools. What a fun trip down Memory Lane. Thank you for this retro cake. Hello I am a person that has always dreamed of making professional cakes but I have never had the courage to try taking lessons for fear that I might fail. But you Joshua have inspired me to try. You have a great enthusiasm about your cakes and so much creativity and imagination and my goal is to one day make cakes like your's. Basically what I am trying to say is thank you for being my greatest inspiration.

That reminds me so much of a few wedding cakes my mom made for couples in the little town I grew up in. My mom baked and decorated cakes out of our home kitchen. So our house always smelled amazing. She did wedding cakes and birthday cakes. She stopped when I was a teenager, she developed arthritis in her hands. I had to go to a bakery by the time I had my wedding. Of course by that time, the style of wedding cakes had really changed.
