I still remember CCP put a seal on the door of our church (This is the church I go to regularly) with a notice which requires "religious believers to abide by the provisions of laws and regulations and participate in activities at religious venues registered in accordance with the law." This is their excuse. In China, the so-called legally registered religious venues are religious venues that are managed by the government and obey the CCP. In this "church", the images of Jesus Christ and the Virgin Mary were removed and portraits of Xi Jinping and Mao Zedong were placed.
CCP agent (party branch secretary) will attend Sunday services and they are responsible for monitoring us. He closely monitors the content of sermons in Three-Self churches. He required pastors to read the new version of the "Regulations on Religious Affairs" before preaching. During worship, we believers were forced to sing the national anthem, and he even forced us to sing 红歌 praising CCP.
CCP require us that We christians must adhere to the leadership of the Chinese Communist Party and the core values of socialism. They strictly require religious clergy to preach the Core Socialist Values in their sermons and integrate our into the minds of believers, into our collective religious activities, and into our daily life.Yes, the most terrifying thing is the Sinicization of Christianity, which is they suppression to our Christianity.

Jesus said "Render on to Caesar the things that are Caesar, and unto God the things that are God's", but the CCP wants it all for themselves and none to God... (sigh). This is what I fear of tyrants, they want it all for themselves and are going to get rid of God. Humanity will come under the yoke of other humans, a terrible oppression without God, like we've never seen before. I figured governments would do something like this. Either they would get rid of Christianity, or they would subvert it and change it to the point where their president/leader is being worshipped as Christ/God. A terrible direction we seem to be heading in... Hold on to your faiths, because the governments of the world will seek to subvert it for their own uses.

I worked in china and attended two churches both of which were subsequently closed down. One because they helped North Korean refugees and the other I think because they were really evangelical and sincere believers. Bith services has numerous carmeras in their services and there was a police security scanner manned by police at the front gate every Sunday. Police never cared about bibles as the church book store sold them openly. I could get access to bible and christian websites in the west. The one problem I did pick up on is that a lot of the locals were horrified to learn we were going to church and this is because of the governments propaganda in which they post the abuses of so many cults and sects throughout their history. I do not doubt their stories either but there needs to be a unified approach by main line churches in the west to reassure the Chinese government these cults in no way repressent the teachings of Christ and help them see the difference.
Let's not forget that we can worship God without a church but what is happening is really terrible

God bless the faithful brethren in these harsh and diverse places. Christ Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. He is the Living Water that will satisfy the parched soul. May He, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, be remembered in the hearts and minds of our Chinese brothers and sisters, and may we continue to pray they uphold the faith so strong. There is no God but the God who revealed Himself those 2000 years ago, who limited Himself, took on man's likeness, being fully man and fully divine, yet limited He lived so that He would die in place of our many sins.

If there is anyway to describe the anatomy of the Chinese Government this could help. For athough perhaps the construct is tilted a tad. Deuteronomy is very clear about having a leadership structure and that the same message is preached. In this manner the Chinese government does this very well.
And though perhaps in general the entire conception of communism concerning the command "thou shall not covet thy neighbors possessions " is its own discussion.
If it was by command that all members of the whole nation did as one accordance. This actually represents a blueprint for the end goal. With of course the Lord Jesus on top.

Here's a fun little exert to read.
While some events in the Bible can be verified, historians do not consider the Bible as a historical reference text. Instead, they look for primary documents and archaeological evidence as better sources of historical events than the Bible.
The early stories are held to have a historical basis that was reconstructed centuries later, and the stories possess at most only a few tiny fragments of genuine historical memory, which by their definition are only those points which are supported by archaeological discoveries.
It’s very easy to find the roots of Christianity in other religions. For example, both the garden of eden and The flood were taken from Gilgamesh, Moses is taken straight from Sargon of Akkad. Even the story of Jesus is borrowed from multiple other gods/religions. These were all before the bible was compiled.
No question that the Bible has been altered and edited over the centuries.
We don’t have the original manuscripts. What we have are copies of copies of copies of … you get the idea. In many cases the copyists didn’t even speak the language they were copying. And don’t forget the little matter of translations of translations of copies of translations ….
Fact is, there is something like 400,000 versions of the bible in existence today (that’s versions, not translations). The major religions can’t even agree on how many books there are in the bible so how can anyone possibly know that their bible is “the real deal”?
“The scholar John Mill, no apparent relation of the philosopher John Stuart Mill, published a Greek New Testament in 1707 that showed 30,000 different available readings from only 100 manuscripts at his disposal. He was accused of trying to destroy Christianity by pointing out the truth. … We now have over 57,000 different manuscripts available and contemporary scholars believe there are between 300,000 and 400,000 different versions of the New Testament. That is more different versions of the New Testament than there are words in it. Since we don’t have any original documents, or copies, or copies of the copies, etc., we have no idea which of these 400,000 variations is the perfect one. Frankly, it boggles the mind that someone could imagine that if 400,000 different versions have come down to us that there could be one ‘perfect’ version.”
We know that at various times the church decided which books belonged in the bible so you’re depending on the “wisdom” of the men who made those decisions - and it’s safe to say that those decisions would be driven by a desire to see that the final product conformed to their personal orthodoxy.
For that matter, individual copyists have made changes to the text in order that their copy agreed with their individual orthodoxy.
It’s easy to point out some of those changes - everyone is familiar with the story of Jesus and the adulteress (“let he who is without sin …”). While it’s a great story with a worthwhile moral it doesn’t appear in any version of the bible before the 12th century. By the same token - in the oldest bibles in our possession, the Gospel according to Mark ended with Mark 16:8. Everything after that (9-20) was added at a later date, probably so that it would agree with Matthew (which was apparently copied, in large part, from Mark).
Jesus has been compared to a broad variety of figures from various mythological traditions within the Mediterranean Basin, including, Horus, Dionysus, Mithras, Sol Invictus, Osiris, Asclepius, Attis, and Adonis.

There are different versions of the Bible, but they're all pretty similar. With really only words and INTERPRETATIONS being different.

1. You shouldn't be hanging up images of Jesus and Mary in the church. Nobody knows what they look like and that goes against the second commandment. 2. Who cares if the government requires churches to put up images of Mao or patriotic symbols. That's not a big deal nor a barrier. Singing the national anthem is also not a big deal. Jesus doesn't care about these trivial things. 3. Government officials wanting to modify sermons is a concern. How about splitting up the sermon to add what they request at the end? If they're not asking you to betray Jesus, it's not a big deal. 4. If government officials want to attend church, welcome them. Show them the love that Jesus showed you. They are people too. Let the government see that Christians are peaceful and loving, and that Christianity is positive for the country. 5. The government appears to be suspicious about Christianity being used for subversions. Christians in China should allay their concerns by being law abiding. Your fight is not against the CCP. It is spiritual. Christianity in China should not be political and "anti-CCP". Even Rome became Pro-Christianity after severely persecuting Christians, so it can happen with China, but you must fight persecution with the love of God and not political rebellion. China has made amazing progress for the livelihood of her citizens these past decades, so they're not as "evil" as we were led to believe.
