They were never shipped to United States because they were made in the United States. S50s had 316 Hp and the S52 (US Spec) had 240. In 2001-2002 they all came with the S54 engine and were plenty rare.
@@charlottewilkinson6647 everything he said is right. Greer ,south carolina was the only manufacturing plant of the z3. Thats also why the build quality of z3s is so horrible made in the US.......
They literally invented this Coupe to provide a stiffer chassis with the full roof and improve handling. Set them up the same and the Coupe will handle better.
@@tomtraynor5384 You cannot change my mind to fit your own opinion, no matter what, I go based off experience I had and my own testing, and I'm a decently good driver, there's better drivers out there obviously but guessing from my tests on having both once before I kept up better with a buddies E46 M3 better with Roadster
@@WEEWEE_GUYNah-that’s YOUR opinion, bud. The FACTS are it is 3x as stiff a chassis, which was the reason they developed it-and it was the stiffest chassis ever by BMW up to that point. Further, my M Coupe is worth $10,000 more than when I bought it 19 years ago and they are worth about 2x more than a comparable Z3 M Roadster-these are also facts. Have a great day.
@@tomtraynor5384 Good on you, but sorry to break it to you,, the facts here are is you overpaid for an ugly rear end lmao, they're aight, roadsters require a driver mod lol and grip even crazier , width is super similar

I have one (s52) and it’s plenty fast. Turns heads everywhere I go. Super cool and rare car. Love it!
Your numbers are way off. There are about 2800 M Coupes in the NA, about 2100 S52 cars and 700 S54 cars in the NA Market.
this guy is correct, your propagating misinformation.
Fun fact, the “base” Z3 coupe is even more rare than the M spec
JFK JR. AND DMX OWNED THIS CAR IN BLUE!
We have an S52 M Coupe and it’s the best!
The states got 1998-2000 3.2 s52 and the 3.2 s54, we never got the euro s50 b32 but then made them.
For everyone saying they never made a s50
Я влюбился в нее😊
I've driven a DINAN 540i, E46 M3, and the E36 M3. It's rare to see the Z3 M Coupe or even 850i/CSI. I were to pick a BMW it would the Z3 ///M Coupe.
Thus i Saw Oné of this at the bmw News Orleans event
S50 and S54
S52 and s54 only in NA , no s50
@@ccchristian3093which one is faster
Rare doesn't mean nice, roadster handles much better, in my experience
