Killer Instinct (SNES) Playthrough - NintendoComplete

- A playthrough of Nintendo's 1995 fighting game for the Super Nintendo, Killer Instinct.
Played with Jago on the five-star difficulty level.
This was one of the coolest games on the SNES back when it came out. It didn't look like the arcade game, nor did it look or sound anywhere near as good as Donkey Kong Country. But, for how fast it moved and closely it mimicked the game play of the original (and on the then 5-year old 16-bit SNES), this was a pretty damn admirable effort. I still do crack up when I see the close-up portrait of Orchid (her chest became pretty pointy) and when I hear the beyond distorted sample that announces "PERFECT" at the end of the match.
Most of the moves and combos were ported over, and though the sound and the graphics got heavily downgraded in the process, the game was just as fun as the coin-op version ever was. Like Donkey Kong Country, this was another shining example of the magic that Rare regularly produced for Nintendo.
I must admit, Killer Instinct is not my strongest fighting game. I have played this a lot over the years, but I've never been able to play it quite as intuitively as the Street Fighter games. I do manage some ultra combos, but if you're wanting to see a nonstop parade of record-breaking combo counters, you'd be better off looking at one of those cracked-out TAS videos. I have no hope of ever getting as good as the best players are at it, but still - I think I'm pretty good. I did beat it without losing a round :)

Man this intro takes me back to sweet moments in my childhood. Lol
Man my childhood is from XXI century and i played this game
I bet you use to get beat up lol jk
Te amo perrota
@@luvbootys and how abt now?
@@Tstorm-il5ih huh
I remember when I finally beat this game on the hardest difficulty. The feeling of satisfaction I felt that day with my friends cheering me on was one I'll never forget. No game has even come close to that feeling since, and probably never will.
yeah man, one of our great childhood 90s memories, I totally get it
This was quite a hard game for a child so well done
You done better than me. Well done. I got the same feeling when me and my mates finished Resident Evil on the PS1 in under 3hrs. It unlocked the Rocket Launcher in a new game.
Literally shaking
good times were had by all who owned this in the 90's
Yeah. Cones and BBQ meatlovers pizza.
The music is sooo good in this version
Ikr
Most of it of course, I never really liked cinders song. But that's all just a personal opinion.
Yes. That crunchy SNES sound is classic!
Everybody had that one friend who always picked Orchid and didn't let you get one single hit in
Omg lol
That was definitely me as well, she's just so dang awesome
I was that one friend🙃
That was me 😂😂😂😂
@@Misssteelcity412 I got it on my phone aswell assupermario kart and supermario world ect
I just dug up an old childhood memory. This one hits home. The nastaglia. 😭
I searched this video just to listen to the sound effects and music while I'm at work. So unique if you played it in the 90s
The ultimate combos! I love how they just go straight into it. No build up or anything
Oh nostalgia .... I remember this had one of the best graphics on SNES
This looks like crap. The Donkey Kong Country games and any good 2D game for example aged way better graphically. It is technically impressive though
@Seba Ramirez you understand that this in on an snes brought from arcade. The graphics for its time werw fenomenal especially looking how Street Fighter, Tekken and MK looked.
@@biljancanin That's why I say it's technically impressive, but the cartoonish style of DKC looks better, more expressive and more diverse to me than Killer Instinct even on the Arcade, as someone who grew up in the PS2/PS3 generation, and DKC is an older game than Killer Instinct.
Edit: Maybe the better graphics in KI would be in the particle effects on Arcade, those are lacking in DKC. The particle effects help in the expressiveness because it communicates to the player the impact of an attack for example
@@biljancanin yeah I remmeber it being on the arcades and then getting it on SNES … and the soundtrack was pretty intense too made you feel like your in the fight
@@thewindthatblows you have no idea what you are talking about 😂
Mann! Extremely good to hear this theme again! Classic childhood memories replay on Super Nintendo! I still have the music CD from the game purchase back then!
The music on that disc was great!
No 👎🏼 not true
@@peachygoogles6359 seriously? You can still buy the CD from Amazon. It is very much true. And had you bought the game back in the day you would know.
My dad still has his
I have It too!
Loved this game spent so many hours playing this.
Get a life

This comment is something i agree
@@peachygoogles6359 get a killer instinct
I appreciate how you kept every fight ending different. Enjoyed this.
That's my favorite game. "C-c-c-COMBO BREAKER!!!, ULTRA!!! ULTRA!!!!!"
This rang surprisingly echoingly loud...
For a massively stripped back port of the arcade, this was great. Rare did an amazing job of cramming as much game as they could into the SNES cart.
Oh my goodness! You're playing my favorite fighting game series ever! Thank you so much for doing so!
This is Ghandi non-violent noncursing gameage here. I’m certain Yaga will apologize to the opposition at the Pizza Pity Party

Glacius was my favorite character!! I loved his turning into a puddle then coming out of it with an upper cut!! So awesome.
scrolling through the different color changes for Glacius at the beginning is awesome.
Wow … after all these years I found it , spent hours playing this game ! Such memories thank you ❤️
I played this game a lot when I was a little kid , even tho I’m a teenager right now I would thrash this game apart , I was unstoppable all this late nights I’d spend sitting infront of the tv playing game. Such great memories
I know this video was posted years ago, and the game itself is old. But this gave me some good nostalgia! Thanks for posting.
That intro when you first turn on the game is top 3 of all time on my list.
"ULTRAAAAAA COMBO!"
I still play this game ever since it came out
It came with a CD, remember..
The full game OST, yeah. These songs were KILLER :D
Nope. That’s a lie.

My brother and his friend played this game all of time when they came home from school.
I don’t believe you. Say the names.
Thanks for uploading this, man. I grew up playing this game and seeing this brought back a ton of memories
Lots of memories (including lots of frustration) with this game. Loved learning how to use every character to the best of their abilities. Jago probably took me the longest but he was still one of my top 3 characters in the game.
After searching for many years, now I find it! Really miss this game.
Also this game is just perfect 10/10 there's nothing wrong not even a pixel is bad in this masterpiece.
My #1 favorite video game of all time nothing beats this game
I love this game!
This game was so awesome
So many fond memories of this game that were locked away in the vault of my mind
ULTRA…. ULTRA…ULTRA…….
Wow what memories

Awesome video, awesome game play and thank you for sharing this footage.
Are you rachellol?
@@peachygoogles6359 No I am not.
11:21 The "SUPREME VICTORY" shout fits so perfectly with this level's fanfare
I used to love that! It fits with eyedols, spinals, sabrewulfs and fulgores themes
Yo @NintendoComplete, super skills bro. I grew up playing killer instinct. Thanks for uploading.
No 👎🏼 Not súper skills. Catskills
i remember playing this game when i was 5 years old, i couldnt defeat riptor for some reason, i always lose, i had a nightmare about it, i felt like i couldnt wake up, and the last thing i knew was my mum waking me up to go to kinder garden, i was so confused, i asked her how long have i been sleeping, and she said only for the night, but it felt like forever, i never understood what that meant, im 19 and still dont understand.
similar happened to me when i watched jurassic park for the first time when i was about 4, velociraptors have been murdering me in my dreams ever since then.

PhoenixDieRise If you’re serious well that’s why I’m here. I think it’s in this clip called Rosalinda recupera la memoria. And if y’all don’t wanna get the time wasted Baby One More Time Britney Spears Uncut, Gimme More Britney Spears uncut and embarrassing, Everytime Britney Spears uncut and I don’t promise pizza and ice cream for lunch everyday but by golly you don’t want me to watch it til the end por que si me entero que she’s even so much as motioning towards a couple type of shit I’m knocking her down again.
Peachy Googles pues requopera tu memoria, Britany never le Gustava los violent juegos. Oops she started again, and also let me te Digo que don’t hold it against me, you might scream and shout, you womanizer.
Woah nice playing on Glacius, it was a Perfect!
I been watching these for about an hour and so far this is my favorite. I used to love this game!
Orchid or Cinder were my picks but I was never good with Jago.
Then you can’t like this game if you don’t even play it like that. Orchid and Cinder are the sucky ones because someone lowered her stamina cz ur punks and that’s why you’re not gunnah get flashed anymore. Cz she’s like at Level 2 so all you see is what you already seen.
I can listen to just the audio of this whole video and it takes me right back to 1996. Came with the "Killer Cuts" audio CD, and it felt like the coolest thing in the world to play this game's music as a kid..........at home, or at friends houses in the 90s. The intro still gives goosebumps. Love Rare's music.....you can hear similarities in music through KI, Donkey Kong Country, 007 and Perfect Dark
Orchids level music was awesome along with jagos and saberwulfs.
I really wish they made a movie of Killer Instinct like they did Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter.
Bons tempos.
Esse jogo Assim como MORTAL KOMBAT 2 e 3 do SUPER NINTENDO é Simplesmente Fantástico.
Orchid was mah girl in this game. I used to be able to do all her combos. Man the memories.
She didn’t have any combos. You’re confusing her with Sabrewulfe.

Rareware’s Golden age
The sounds of each character are forever ENCRUSTED on my mind, how is that possible? 😂
My favorites were Jago (which for a long time I though was Ninja Gaiden somehow), Fulgore, the Dinosaur, the Skeleton, the boxer and the Werewulf which had the best sound effects ever lmao. So recognizable.
nice thanks for showing our childhood moments
TJ combo was my dude in this. Great game!
The opening of this game pumped me up so much back then lol. OH then when i executed an ultra by accident and didn't know wtf was going on. good times.
The intro theme is savage
Ultra Ultra was the best sound ever
I got my parent's actual cartridge of this. Unfortunately, their original SNES died years ago, but I saw a second-party NES/SNES/SFC online for around $40 and ordered it. I expect to play it again, bringing back life to a game that's remained dormant for nearly 25 years.
This intro is my childhood
Wow you made this game look actually playable. Nice work.
Thank you for this video...I have a lot of memories with this game...SNES one of the best ever!
Thank you for putting this on youtube!
I always sucked at Jago lol
This takes me back. Woah.
This game is now on SNES Online! :D
Brings back so many memories
I can't believe I forgot about this awesome game. One of my favourites as a youth. Sweet memories.
Neato Combo, hydro combo, magnanimous combo, riboflavin, effervescent, apple fritter combo!!!
Mmm apple fritters
Or Wheel of Fortune combo!
Wow. This irks my soul.
This intro music, takes me back. oh man!!
Jago was way ahead of his time, wearing that covid mask during his fights.
Loved this game, the venues were amazing
That intro tho…. So nostalgic. This was one of my first games I ever played
I remember opening this up Christmas day and losing my shit at the sight of a black gane cartridge. So sick.
Ahhh. To be 8 again. 🥺🥺
Man, the soundtrack on the Super was amazing 😂
Super FX, that 16bit king held it down til it's Big Bro arrived 1996
This takes me back to my childhood.
DAMM GOOD MEMORIES PLAYING KI WITH MY LITTLE BROS ! I WAS 7 YRS OLD NOW BOUTTA BE 32 ! THT INTRO SONG WAS DA BEST !
One of the first titles to be rated "T" for teen, this serves somewhat of a Mortal Kombat alternative.
I remember when I first got this game I was like wow
One of Nintendo's most violent games :3
THIS WAS THE GAME I'D BEEN LOOKING FOR
For your kid or you??
Ah the good ole days where my biggest concern in life was beating this game on the hardest difficulty
Ah yes, back when it was quality over quantity.
Agreed. Now games have 100s of characters and the music nor character development doesn't matters anymore. The music used to make these games memorable. Newer games are just sloppy
As soon as I heard the music I got goosebumps
Played this game when I was 5 years old, when I had a cold this game was the best medic. A new Killer Instinct, but with graphics next to Mortal K. The last one was great, but to animated in my opinion. Imagine playing a realistic Jago!
One of my favorites as a kid
Holy mackerel!!! I remember this game back in the 90s my favorite fighter was T J combo back then
when we don't have pain just simple hapiness ..old day ❤❤❤
Mainly came back to see the fulgore fight, man was that fight hard
Played this when I was kid great game
And then stopped? False.
@@peachygoogles6359 yeah cus video games are addicting and waisted alot of my life when I shouldve been outside experiencing life
Das antigas ... Joguei muito esse jogo !
I still have the CD they came with this game. We had tournaments with all my friends for months when this came out.
Orchids 36 hit combo was a monster.
Old but gold 📺
Remains some of the coolest character concepts in history for a video game.
Jago was my go to, always. Killer Instinct never fails
one of my best memories is watching my dad do an ultra combo on eyedol with jago.
6 year old me was fucking flabbergasted.
Wow my chillhood memories are back...
Such a great game in its day. Me and my mates spent many a night on this. Saber and Orchid were my go to.
Spinal & Cinder were my 2 main choices for my playthroughs
